Extraneous, like the Keystone XL pipeline. Things that really create jobs.

Obama and Reid are incompetent. As Casey Stengel said, "Can't anybody here play this game?"
The Democrats thought they had the Republicans in Congress cornered, with the GOP seeming to stand in the way of the payroll tax extension.
Turns out that was exactly the briar patch Br'er Boehner was born in. He came back with a full-year extension of the payroll tax cut -- tied to the Keystone XL pipeline project favored by 60% of voters.
Reid and the Senate Democrats caved partway by agreeing to Keystone and just a two-month extension. And that set them up for complete failure: now it's the DEMOCRATS who are blocking the payroll tax extension for the full year.
Br'er Boehner can laugh and laugh at Br'er Obama and Br'er Reid, because they now have to cave fully to the House's demands, or be the ones who cost the American worker his precious payroll tax cut. If Obama and Reid hadn't demogogued the payroll tax cut so hard and made it the litmus test for caring about the American worker, they wouldn't be stuck in this place.

Mitch McConnell has no interest in small-government, nor do I think he ever really claimed to have such an interest. Many of our Senators are there because people voted for the "R" believing that winning seats was greater than electing people who actually will pursue conservative policies.
This is the downside to that strategy - the GOP in the House holding a bi-partisan bag of shit.

Well we know that Chiquita brands now deals in watermelon instead of bananas
ForestEthics, a nonprofit that works to protect endangered forests in the United States and Canada, said Thursday that Chiquita agreed to stop using fuel derived from oil sands, often called “tar sands” by environmental groups, to ship its bananas.
That is the stupidest statement I have heard since the last time Obama opened his pie-hole. Just how in the hell do they “filter” out the gasoline from oil sands vs other? And what in the hell is an “endangered forest”? There are more acres covered in forest now than there was at the turn of the 20th century in 1900.
So who is ForestEthics? From their web site:
ForestEthics is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization incorporated under the laws of the State of California in 1999. In Canada, ForestEthics is a project of Tides Canada Initiatives who have full governing, legal, and fiduciary responsibility for the project.
Tides huh, I hope everyone knows who that is. Direct link to commie Soros. But they are protecting us from AGW.
That speaks volumes as to why Obama wants to block it.

Sheesh.
Saying he's the only guy who can beat Obama is saying that conservatism is dead, which 2010 proves is not true.
We're also seeing that the legislature is not enough. They can only do so much, because the executive is so much more important than it was originally meant to be. That's where the budget originates now... it should be the House, but the president is required by law to submit the budget.
Stupid. But stupid doesn't mean it isn't real. We need a president who will not split the baby with the democrats on whatever is in controversy, because he thinks triangulation is super clever. We need that budget to start at the conservative POV because it will inevitably move left from there. Everything always moves left.

Watching some of Romney yesterday, I realized all three front-runners have something seriously disturbing about them. Ron Paul - pick anything regarding foriegn policy. Newt - WTF was that fascist bit about judges? Romney - has no apparent problem with the mandate. Of the three, Romney actually sounds the least scary - he described ObamaCare as a program that should be repealed - because it's too expensive. That may be the least principled reason, but I suppose if he went some other route he'd be criticizing himself.
So no wonder King Putt thinks he's #4 - it has to be tough to be way, way worse than these guys.

Rules of the House. If you say something "defamatory" they have a right as a point of order to reject- you can then voluntarily have it struck from the record (which is what most of them do) or let it stand. If you let it stand, the House MUST vote on a resolution to condemn (not sure of the technical term). If it passes, the comment is struck from the record, and you are barred from making any more floor comments for... a period of time. The rest of the day, I think.
So all this means is that he said it, some Democrat took offense, and he didn't withdraw it. I say good for him.

It doesn't have to be an overt alliance, but we should at least have very good relations with India because of the growing strength of the Chinese and also because of Pakistan.
There should be few cautionary tales to such a relationship, as the Indians were allied with the USSR during the Cold War and the Indians have a good working relationship with the Russians (for military hardware, among other things).

I've been through this twice in my career and it's why I won't take Medicaid/Medicare. Both times I've had about $30K in outstanding claims "adjusted" to a new fee schedule AFTER the work was done and claims filed. Theft by any other name.....is still theft.

Surprising precisely no one (except maybe the Occu-tards), only Medicare (and maybe Medicaid) is allowed to do this. Anyone else who adjusts the fees has to give notice something like 90 - 180 days before the change takes effect, and claims received after the change, but performed prior, have to be processed at the previous rate.
