20 Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth. This was the moment - this was the time - when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves, and our highest ideals.

It's pretty obvious to see where this all fell apart .. if we are willing to work for it .. nothing there about golf or wagyu

Conventional wisdom posits that this potent right-wing, anti-Obama sentiment will diminish the President's power — enough for Republicans to vanquish Democrats in November, regain control of Congress and weaken the incumbent for 2012.

But this myopia has been created within an electronic cocoon of Fox News, talk radio, conservative websites and rhetoric from Republican leaders, all passionately reinforcing the message that the Obama Administration is disastrous on a historic scale. It's a message that is being transported as gamely by rank-and-file Republicans as it is by erudite conservative columnists with national readerships.

So how did that work out for TIME and the Democrats anyway ?

35 btw, those are quotes taken whole, no exaggeration.  Here's a primary article.

Obama: No warrantless wiretaps if you elect me

"My job this morning is to be so persuasive...that a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany, and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Barack," he told a crowd of about 300 Ivy Leaguers--and, by the looks of it, a handful of locals who managed to gain access to what was supposed to be a students-only event.

Idiots, all of them.

Wait a minute, I thought his election would halt the rise of the oceans and heal our planet?!?  How does a non-messiah do this?!?  But if the GOP doesn't select a nominee who can win, we'll be listening to this kind of nonsense for four more years.

Thankfully, GOP primary voters have traditionally understood that this is the one qualification that stands above all others ... http://bit.ly/qVdDUt

Posted by: ombdz at December 11, 2011 01:13 PM (2DpoY)

37 Whoever the GOP nominee ends up being has to make the "moment when the planet begins to heal" a laugh-line at one of the debates.  Reagan would have figured out a way how.  After some inane Obama talking point, repons with: "Ladies and gentlemen, we'll look back on this night in a few months and know that this was the moment when America began to heal, when Americans stopped falling for brain dead slogans from pretty boy hacks..."  something like that. Work on it, speechwriters. Make it happen.

Yeah, it was stupid inasmuch as it shows that Perry got to him but some of the criticism smacks of class warfare. Who cares if he bet $10,000? The threshold for "good dad" in the 21st century is really, really low (especially for African-American men, and I denounce myself for noticing)--acknowledge paternity, show up every now and then, give some money to the mother.  He actually married to their mother--and stayed married years after their birth--pays their private school tuition, takes them on vacations (on our dime, and I denounce myself for noticing), got them a dog....that's an Exceeds Expectations.  Even if he can't remember their birthdays.

80 Obama says the banks “should be remedying past mortgage abuses that led to the financial crisis, and working to keep responsible homeowners in their home.” It’s nice to hear what he thinks banks “should” be doing, but he didn’t use his presidential clout to compel them to do much of anything to change their ways, even when he could, back when Democrats controlled both Houses of Congress. And Obama’s own pitiful program to keep families in their homes was a colossal failure that helped only a fraction. Perhaps Obama is now infuriated with himself.

88 My 'favorite' of these humble Obama moments is this one:

In a conference call with advisers, Mr. Obama spoke of the transformative domestic policies he had promised and now would pursue. Mr. Geithner, say people familiar with the exchange, cautioned that the crisis Mr. Obama had inherited was so severe that it would constrain him.

“Your legacy is going to be preventing the second Great Depression,” Mr. Geithner said.

Vexed, Mr. Obama replied, “That’s not enough for me.”

Screw him and the unicorn he rode in on.

Really, I hope this is the last gasp of Socialism's attempt to break through into this country. I am sick of this bullshit.

Progressives are like a Terminator: They cannot be reasoned with, they don't feel remorse or pity, and they absolutely will not stop until you are dead.

Why the GOP isn't hammering each and every single failure of this anti-American, unconstitutional movement and its practitioners in Washington is a great source of puzzlement to me. They should, as another Moron upthread suggested, be hammering this home every time the open their mouth.

Poison the movement. The Left has trying it for years, yet teh Stoopid Party still won't defend itself.

Why? This isn't rocket surgery
