— CAC Open Thread for your kickoff to the long Memorial Day Weekend. I say your because I still have to work three out of the next four days.
Call this the "please tell me I am not the only one to have seen this nor laugh myself into temporary unconsciousness over it" thread.
Or call this the "I really need to turn off DirecTV at 3am" thread.
You all wouldn't be the top caliber morons you are today without your devotion to the odd, the unseen, the unheard of.
Open Thread, but with a reminder that there are some things that are just not acceptable:

A little flick called 29th Street is a must-see. It's based on the real life story of the first ever lottery winner in the US in NY back in 1976.
Danny Aiello was especially good in it.

Tank Girl, the best movie ever? I have to disagree, but that was a pretty funny, if warped, line.

"But she won't go out with me alone because she's prejudiced against Italians. Can you believe that? In this day and age? A Jew broad, and she's prejudiced against Italians!"
(Same movie as the exchange in #47. The movie is mainstream enough, but some of the references would only be recognized by people who actually saw the film and really dig it.)

Miller: A lot o' people don't realize what's really going on. They view life as a bunch o' unconnected incidents 'n things. They don't realize that there's this, like, lattice o' coincidence that lays on top o' everything. Give you an example; show you what I mean: suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
Otto: You eat a lot of acid, Miller, back in the hippie days?

Here's the ultimate in obscure and cult, Hammersmith is Out, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068674 . So obscure nobody's heard of it. So cult it's only me and like three other people.
Peter Ustinov directs, Liz Taylor, Richard Burton and Beau Bridges and you've still never heard of it.
