— Ace At Verum Serum, with commentary, and also below, because it's sweet like sugar.
Also below, a similarly-themed ad pulled from Hot Air, featuring Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, who's like my perfect woman: dumb as a chicken, but not very attractive, because I don't need that hard-to-get "self respect" jazz, either.
The good news is those ads are effective.
The bad news is those ads are effective because they're accurate, and we are in for it.
The excellent Suitably Flip has a prediction you don't want to come true:
Core is up 1.5% year-over-year, which is still awfully low. Headline inflation was up 3.6% from a year ago. YouÂ’ll be hearing about stagflation this morning, probably, whether real or not.
And on and on. Builder confidence in the housing market declined 3 points. Flip:
That leaves the [Housing Market Index] tied (with the depths of "Recovery Summer") for its worst post-recession level and lends further support to thedoubletriple dip thesis.
I am getting the same feeling I got when those Weiner pics came out-- stop the fight. Call it, ref.
I know I keep saying this, but I did start saying, in mid-2009, that if the economy does not get better, I do not think Barack Obama will seek reelection.
The argument I always get is "ego." To which I rebut: "Ego."
"I lost" =/= "I won."
Oh, and still more. Walter Russell Meade now says the second term of Jimmy Carter is a best-case scenario.
The actual employment rate -- the fraction of working individuals compared to the whole of the population -- remains stuck at an abnormal low.
Oh, and the stock market might dive again, too.
I know it had lost 1% today. I think they mean more than that.

Let's face it- no Democrat in his or her right (left?) mind is going to primary el JEF until and unless he makes a mistake that would virtually REQUIRE his impeachment (I know... we all think he's done that- but you know what level of offense I'm talking about here). And filing deadline for Pres is what? In November this year, yes?
So if no one files to run for the nomination of his party- except him- and then he backs out in June or July next year... do the Democrats even get to put anyone on the ticket? Would it default to whoever he'd selected as the VP nominee? Or would it default to Biden (whether he'd been selected for the VP nominee slot or not)?

On this- (not the specific comment, but the root suggestion that Texas Dems are the worst). I think it's just a matter of perception. Our National Level Democrats are pure, distilled crazy because they come from such liberal districts that it doesn't matter what views they hold, so long as a 'D' comes after their names. In more sane districts (most of them) you end up with Republicans because even the Democrats don't vote for Democrat politicians in such areas.

“We own the economy. We own the beginning of the turnaround and we want to make sure that we continue that pace of recovery, not go back to the policies of the past under the Bush administration that put us in the ditch in the first place,” Wasserman Schultz told Mike Allen at a breakfast hosted by POLITICO’s Playbook.
The economy, she said, “has turned around” since President Obama took office, with steady job growth evident even if the pace leaves something to be desired.

Then completely gloss over the moslem component in shipping folks off for forced labor.
Now, fast forward to the obama generation. All you have to do is draw the evil, republican boogey man and you are golden in the retard class.

The attempted spin on this would be funny if the reality of it weren't so tragic.
"Turning the economy around" is exactly what the Dims did, all right. Rush had a good monologue about this yesterday: just exactly what did Bush do to cause this economy? Two wars? We're now engaged in four wars with The Vapid One®. Tax cuts? Bush lowered them and TVO maintained the rates. Deficits? Sure, Bush ran them up, but TVO has quadrupled them.
So, what did Bush actively do to cause this economy, again?

June or July is before the convention. They can just smoke-filled-room it.
I'd thought that Obama might do it, but in the spring. I don't think he can stand losing and will try to avoid doing so. He's been talking so much about one-termishness lately.
If he waits too long, there won't be any primaries to have and history will record his cowardice.
He is raising a ton of money and it might be (mostly) legal this time around.
Honestly, the Democrats benefit from candidates with no scrutiny. They'd love to have Obama bow out if his numbers are dismal, put up a brand new tabula rasa candidate chosen by the party elders and pretend the last 4 years never happened.
Who would it be? Well maybe a true tabula rasa. A governor on nobody's radar screen, for instance. I cannot, though, imagine any Democrat with national standing winning such an election other than Hillary. Their bench is empty.

What's absolutely insane is how little economic news and how it affects the average person is being shown on television. During Bush's time in office, remember the interviews with people at the pumps?
Now, numbers get reported, very little commentary and the 'news networks' find more important stories to talk about to distract everyone.
I guess I shouldn't expect much from a group that refuses to ever cover any story critical of Islam and Muslims. The media is one of the enemies.

I know I keep saying this, but I did start saying, in mid-2009, that if the economy does not get better, I do not think Barack Obama will seek reelection.
The argument I always get is "ego." To which I rebut: "Ego."
"I lost" =/= "I won."
He has permanantly lost 48.5% of the popular vote under current economic conditions. He still could theoretically win, but with that hard shift in his core approval rating (his personal approval) from January 2009 to June 2011, he has already lost 235 electoral votes as well.
Ace, he sees reality for what it is. Despite media fawning and talking heads saying "Obama is more likely to be re-elected than lose", he is now cracking jokes about his failures. Confident officials don't do that.
Someone said that by this point his administration is overdue for a scandal (nearly every President has had at least one by now). A sizeable one would doom an already sinking ship.
If his reelect numbers remain in the low 40s or even dip into the upper 30s before January, he pulls a Johnson.
