Oh, You're So Cool, Brewster!
— Ace

Via Althouse, another example of something that was played as an embarrassment for Bush, and proof of his stupidity, instead serving as a "see? he's just like you" human-warmth moment for Obama.

I guess there's an easy edgy joke about a threatening black man trying to get into a locked home but Obama's about as threatening as Urkel's agent's aromatherapist's opthamalagist's hairdresser's panty shield.

Damnit! DrewM already had this as metaphor of the day.

Still Got It: Stephen "Evil Ed" Geoffrey's reenacts his famous line at a midnight screening of Fright Night, years later.

I don't mind when good movies get remade (unlike a lot of people) but I just don't see it being very good. Also, Fright Night had a big advantage: No one expected it to be good. Fright Night was a surprise. Maybe it's just a three-star movie but it feels like a four star one because you were expecting nothing much at all. Obviously the remake will not have that sneak-up-on-you advantage.

Not really.  It depended on knowing the characters.  I guess you could characterize it as a "reboot" rather than a remake, but I stand by my characterization.  Between all of the TV/movie reboots and remakes it stands out against all the rest.

Let Me In is a remake of a Swedish movie from just a few years ago called, "Let the Right One In"  I've seen both, they're pretty similar, few small changes.

Bonus trivia--There were 2 Simpsons' cast members on Herman's Head--Yeardley Smith who plays Lisa and Hank Azaria who does dozens of voices, most prominently Moe and Apu.  (He also used to be married to Helen Hunt)
