— CAC Ahem. Not to take away from the inevitable RINO squishiness of Scott Brown, but here is an Open Thread for y'all for the afternoon if you start seeing too much red in the other threads.
Yeah, a few weeks late, but I think we can revisit the weirdness that was Ensign one last time, especially since you morons figured out what fundamentally drove the whole thing. Correct me if I am wrong on any single part of this, but since I am never, ever, ever wrong, thats doubtful:

President Obama took a rare public drink at a bar in Moneygall on Monday, telling the Irish there that he thoroughly enjoyed the Guinness.
"I just want you to know that the president pays his bar tab," Obama said as he gulped down the Irish specialty at Ollie Hayes bar, the cameras flashing and rolling. He said of the beer, "It is delicious."
Obama reminisced about the first Guinness experience he had at Shannon Airport on his way to Afghanistan. “It was the middle of the night, and I tried one of these and I realized it tastes so much better here than in the United States. You're keeping all the best stuff here."

Sure he does, with our tax money. Then, since it's unending, he just takes more and spends it. I mean, St. Louis pizza. Date night with the wookie. He's got unlimited resources to pay tabs.
Except for the NATIONAL DEBT tab that he keeps running up.

"Everybody Loves Raymond" actress Patricia Heaton is speaking out about how her conservative views have hurt her acting career.
"We know for a fact there are some people who have said they wouldn't want to work with us because of our politics," Heaton told PopEater "We get lumped in with lunatics."
Heaton is a Christian and says her faith helps shape her positions on such sensitive issues as abortion and stem cell research. And she's not backing down.
"My feeling is all these things come from God and as long as I know I'm staying in line with Him, I don't have to worry if there is backlash," said Heaton.

You'd think the Beast would have at least as much clearence as a normal car. I mean, if they have to use it to bug out after some security issue, then they have debris etc that they have to navigate. Some vehicles will change their height profile as the speed changes, you'd think there would be a 'james bond' type switch in this car where they could get more clearance.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday upheld an injunction by a three-judge panel ordering California to release about 46,000 inmates over the next two years to ease overcrowding.
The narrow 5-4 decision will affect more than a quarter of the state prison population. It was written by Justice Anthony Kennedy and backed by the court's liberal bloc.

In case you don't know, Guinness is made everywhere with local-regional water, because transporting water across the world is really stupid, but it's all boiled/filtered/etc. down to fucking water, and used in precisely the same recipe that makes Guinness everywhere else. Easily....
A special panel of three judges ruled in 2009 that inmates in the state's 33 prisons were being denied adequate medical care as required by the Constitution. Because overcrowding was the "primary cause," they ordered the state to cap its prison population at 137% of capacity.
The court said the state's prisons had "short of minimum constitutional requirements" and "needless suffering and death" have resulted.
The dissenters, led by Justice Antonin Scalia, called the decision "staggering" and "absurd." It "takes the federal courts wildly beyond their institutional capacity," he wrote.
Don't suppose we can get one of those Obamacare waivers that are floating around?

I'm willing to believe, though, that the additional preservatives dumped into it as per US regulations may negatively affect the flavor hence the seemingly ubiquitous "It's better in Ireland than in the US" sentiment. In any case, I do dig Guinness although it tends to go down my gullet easier than water.

Their Canadian, go figure. Methinks it all has to do with the cost/price. A stout requires a whole lot more malt and barley than does a Bud to make. Shoosh, the Bud recipe was invented during WWII due to rationing. They replaced barley with rice. Personally I hate Bud and always have. Too foamy. Originally, when there were two beers in the world, I was a Schiltz drinker. Most of my friends were Bud drinkers. I also like Oly and Hamms, but don't see them round much anymore. Today I am very happy with a Sam Adams.

Same with Smithwicks. Beer is intended to be fresh. Too long in the bottle and it looses its taste.
