Open Thread: BevShots Creates Art With Booze
— rdbrewer

BUMPED: NEW AND IMPROVED! Now includes tequila and white Russian!

Salute!

If you have often wondered what exactly lies within the various concoctions that make our favourite alcoholic drinks, then here is your answer.
These incredible pictures show popular cocktails magnified up to 1,000 times under a high-tech laboratory microscope.

Produced by U.S. firm Bevshots, they reveal the incredible molecules and kaleidoscopic colours created by the different combinations.

Capturing the constituent parts of favourite drinks such as vodka, pina colada and Chablis, the pictures were taken in Florida State University's chemistry department.

'What you can see in the magnified pictures are the crystalised carbohydrates that have become sugars and glucose,' explained Bevshots founder Lester Hutt.
'Each image was created by using a pipette of each particular drink and squeezing a crop onto a slide.

'Then the droplets are allowed to dry out and then once they have the slide is placed under the microscope and a picture taken.'

That one is Australian pale lager. Beautiful! Below the fold are several others. In no particular order, they are whiskey, vodka, vodka tonic, scotch, sake, rum & coke, red wine, margarita, Irish stout, German pilsner, martini, daiquiri, tequila, and white Russian. Test your skillz.

Here is the key in white font: The pictures appear in the order they were listed in the previous paragraph.

31 Wow, was reading all over a little today while trying to avoid doing what I have to do.  It's unbelievable how you can be in the middle of reading a financial thread or the comments after a news article that will have absolutely nothing, nothing to do with politics and, in the midst of all the comments will be a horrendously vicious post about Sarah Palin.  sometimes people respond but most times they don't they just ignore the post.  I'm almost feeling like the kewl kids have dictated that "the new black" is to hate Sarah Palin and to express that sentiment everywhere you can, even on the gardening and sewing blogs.  I feel as though people who support her are afraid to even say anything against that "random poster" full of hatred.  It's coming to a point where people are so in your face about stupid and horrible and hateful Sarah Palin is that people will walk away from her and it so as to avoid the painful conflict in public and at their jobs.

35 You know someone I know who saw her in person says that she looks like bloomies twin....well maybe they weren't far off, if the parents have their way she may not even last the month.  You just don't say stuff like this in NYC.....:"Parents fume over Black's 'birth control' quip about overcrowding"
I mean does she want to be the object of Glenn Beck's attention?

49 Evening, 'rons.

Extreme Makeover Savannah is on tonight.  D'oh and I are in the stadium for a fundraiser to pay off the couple's mortgage.  Look for a slightly tipsy blonde in black.  That'll be this moronette (wait, there may have been other blondes in black....have to rethink this).
