Overnight Open Thread - Insult Edition
— Maetenloch

At a loss for tossing off casual but cruel insults because you ain't so good with the words?

Well never fear - with these tools you'll soon be breaking spirits and causing eating disorders with the best of them.

The Shakespeare Insult Generator

Easy enough for even the 'tardiest moron to sound edumacated.

shakespeare_insult_kit.jpg

But if that's a bit too foofoo for you, then you might as well go direct to the font of the nastiest, vilest insults available today - I speak of course of YouTube video comments.

And thanks to the YouTube Insult Generator you can enter any term and get insults direct from the Id of the intertubes:

Is Obama Raising His Voice?
Literally. Pundits have noticed that Obama's speeches in the last few months seem testier and his voice seems more tense. Is this true or just a matter of perception? Well a linguist actually does some testing:
What I noticed is that president Obama seemed a mite testy in his weekly address for 10/1/2011 ("Fighting for the American Jobs Act"). This led me to ponder the phonetics of testiness, and of emotional expression in general. For this morning's Breakfast Experiment™ I thought I'd take up one small aspect of one dimension of this large topic, namely what happens to F0 ("fundamental frequency", commonly called "pitch") when you "raise your voice".
I pitch-tracked both speeches (well, all of the hundreds of speeches I've collected for the past few presidents, but that's another story), and plotted a comparison of the percentiles

...The difference is a fairly large one: an average pitch of 137.3 ±0.38 Hz on October 1, vs. an average of 106.6 ±0.31 Hz on August 6, for a proportional difference of about 29%.

So it's not your imagination - Obama really is talking like a stressed SCOAMF.

How Cheap is Life in China?
Cheaper than you can imagine.

Last week a 2 year old girl in southern China, Wang Yue, accidentally wandered into a street and was run over by a van. When driver realized what had happened, he ran over her again in order to get away. What's really shocking is that over the next few minutes no less than 17 people walked or rode by and ignored the gravely injured little girl. Eventually the little girl was taken to a hospital, but she died a few days later. The video of the entire incident is available here (Warning: it's disturbing).

As the girl lay bleeding on the street, no one offers her any assistance. Nearly 20 passersby and motorists pointedly ignore her: in one instance, a woman walking by with a child crosses the street to avoid the limp frame lying by the side.
Shockingly, a second vehicle then runs over Wang, although it appears that this time the driver was unaware of the girl lying there.
Minutes later, a 59-year-old scrap recycler comes upon the child, and pulls her to the side of the road, but when she sought help from nearby shopowners, she was told to mind her own business.
Later the minivan driver turned himself into the police and offered this explanation for why he drove over her:
“If she had died, I would have been required to pay only about 20,000 yuan (about USD $3134) in compensation, but if she were injured, it would cost me hundreds of thousands of yuan in hospital expenses,” he said.
I could write a whole essay about this incident, but I'll boil it down to this: Culture matters; and if you ever need help from strangers, just hope that you're in a country with a culture based on judeo-christian values.

Streetless in Seattle
Seattle's mayor, Mike McGinn, really, really doesn't like cars.

Sure enough, when McGinn became mayor, he began pursuing anti-car policies. HeÂ’d like to levy an $80 fee for registering a car in Seattle, and he has raised taxes on parking in privately owned garages. He now plans to raise parking-meter rates downtown to $4 an hour from $2.50, which would make it costlier to park in Seattle than in any other American city except Chicago. He also supports maintaining the so-called head tax, which docks businesses $25 annually for every employee who drives alone to work.
But it turns out that McGinn lavishes $$ on his cycling buddies despite the fact that climate and topological layout make commuting by bicycle non-viable for most Seattle residents. So call him a tool of the 'Cycle Mafia'.

What Happened to US Currency?
It used to be...awesome - now it's utterly bland as if designed by a committee of dullards.

George Orwell on Vegetarians
He had their number even back in 1937:

"One sometimes gets the impression that the mere words ‘Socialism’ and ‘Communism’ draw towards them with magnetic force every fruit-juice drinker, nudist, sandal-wearer, sex-maniac, Quaker, ‘Nature Cure’ quack, pacifist, and feminist in England....The food-crank is by definition a person willing to cut himself off from human society in hopes of adding five years on to the life of his carcase; that is, a person out of touch with common humanity."

When Pilots Pass Out

The Bad, Bad, Horrible Sitcoms of the 80's
Case in point - Small Wonder:

You fondly remember Small Wonder, but you are so very, very wrong. It’s unwatchable. A robotics scientist (Dick Christie) develops a humanoid servant-bot named V.I.C.I., short for “Voice Input Child Identicant.” But then, creepily, Ted builds V.I.C.I., or Vicki rather, to look like a little girl, and one that wears a Downton Abbey maid’s for some reason. Ted then takes Vicki home to live with his family so the robot can become accustomed to people, because that’s what robots do: they adapt and grow and need love.

Breakfasts Around the World
Warning: Looking at this will make you hungry.
The jokes about English cuisine are all based on truth, but the English sure do breakfast well. Even the black pudding is tasty - just don't ask what's in it.

I remember Small Wonder.  The annoying chubby brother.  Can definitely see that not holding up.  Another show that doesn't hold up for me was the cartoon Voltron.  Just too much repeating from before the commercial breaks.  Though someone did make this short starring the main cop guy from Psych.

Oh and Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.  Went to my buddies on Friday and he had the first episode on for laughs from Netflix streaming before we went and picked up Horrible Bosses.  God that show was just filled with cheesy cliche' 90's dialog.

28 I miss the old currency. Ever redesign of the bills, though colorful, has become simpler and blander with pitiful engravings. Art, orchestral musical, and architecture has been on the decline since the end of the Victorian era. I blame World War One for a lot of it. Though that war was a symptom of the disease, not the overall cause.

Oh God her dialogue was probably the worst, you know following the black kid doing some stereotypical break dance moves before fighting the putty patrol.  She even ended the show doing "I'm don't want to do this....NOT!"  And did they change Zordon's dialogue too?  Because I remember commercials or even the show having him say "Bring me teenagers with attitude"  And the version on Netflix had him say "Bring me 5 overbearing overemotional teenagers"

82 On China:

My law firm has an office in a major city there and I have to go there for a week or two at a time.  Mainly to have horrendous meals with the local government officials.

There is no chivalry in that culture.  I watched a young woman with a baby stroller and toddler try to cross a 6-lane street.  Nobody even slowed down.  The cars whizzed by literally inches from her and the kid she was leading by the hand.  This is normal and accepted.

My natural instinct is to hold doors open for women.  There they have no idea what you're doing.  Doors ordinarily get slammed in their face.  They just look at you quizzically if you offer try to let them go first.

It's a very hard-edged culture.  Interesting to visit but not where I'd want to raise a child.  I'm completely unsurprised that an injured child was ignored.

The Littlest Hobo

There's a voice that keeps on calling me

Down the road that's where I want to be

Every stop I make, I make a new friend

Can't stay for long hmm hmm hmm hmm and I.m gone again

Maybe tomorrow I'd like to settle down

Until tomorrow the whole world is my home

84 Later the minivan driver turned himself into the police and offered this explanation for why he drove over her:
“If she had died, I would have been required to pay only about 20,000 yuan (about USD $3134) in compensation, but if she were injured, it would cost me hundreds of thousands of yuan in hospital expenses,” he said.I could write a whole essay about this incident, but I'll boil it down to this: Culture matters; and if you ever need help from strangers, just hope that you're in a country with a culture based on judeo-christian values.

My favorite Small Wonder episode:  Vicki joins the Little League team and as you might expect, is a very good pitcher.  The family decides that it's just not fair that they're using a fucking machine to humiliate other children.  So the father shows her how to throw a "Fernando Ball" and humorously throws his back out.  They then tell Vicki to replicate the "Fernando Ball" in order to gracefully bow out with an old man's beer league back injury.

Totally believeable.  And really unexpected, even for a 1980s sitcom.

Almost as good as the episode of Jennifer Slept Here where the kids made Ann Jillian do spooky magic tricks to impress the popular girls, in order to get them to get in the hot tub wearing bikinis that fit in their compacts.  The spooky magic tricks unexpectedly got out of hand, and Joey had to stay behind to help Jennifer get things under control.  He learned an Important Lesson that night:  Never use a ghost for the purposes of sexual deception.

Funny, I was just told that same kinda thing about the Russian and Chinese cultures - they are more about the society (the nation at large) rather than the individual.

It is a "no-duh" thing, but this takes a different toll when you've heard this confirmed by people who have been to China and Russia on business.

The Littlest Hobo ruled! That was a great German Shepherd.

Sure Lassie was great (we owned 3) and could alert when Timmy fell down the well.

But only the Littlest Hobo could figure out that the crooked businessman was jamming the radio signals of the little kid's remote controlled airplane in the flying airplane contest, go into the guy's vehicle, take the device the businessman was using to interfere with the kid's plane, bring the device to the child and his parent so they could realise what was happening and take countermeasures and then return the device into the businessman's truck so the guy didn't know what happened.

Good doggie!

106 It's a very hard-edged culture.  Interesting to visit but not where I'd want to raise a child.  I'm completely unsurprised that an injured child was ignored.

China is still a poor country, where millions starved within living memory.  During the cultural revolution you could be executed for stealing a potato.  So it's not surprising people there can be hard.

But there's also a Buddhist element to it.  My old office mate was from Taiwan, and the way he explained it is people believe the suffering you get in this life is a result of bad things you did in previous lives.  So you deserve it, and there's no reason for anyone to help you.

Not only that, misfortune is a source of shame.  At least when he lived in Taipei it was common for families to hid their sick and handicapped members.  Like, you thought your neighbors had three kids, but they actually have four and they just don't talk about the retarded one.  Or let anyone see him.

Its freakin' general hospital with zombies.  I mean really, we need the emotional stuff with the kid who was shot?  I really care what the moms predictable reaction to her boy being shot.. and to waste 30 minutes on that storyline. What a waste of time.  Horrible acting too.  The 'stoic cowboy' thing is plain sloppy ripoff crap hoping to make the main character seem 'deep' .. when he's a fucking idiot.  An emotional, stupid Clint Eastwood.

The smartest person turns out (by far) to be the brother of the guy they left on the roof.  The one everyone was worried about being an impulsive, violent methhead who'd make really stupid and rash decisions... yeah.  He's the only one who hasn't made any dumb mistakes and has kept his head

anyway, what a damn disappointment!  Now i've got to wait forever before Justified comes back on.. shit!  AMC needs some new story writers.  Between this, and breaking bad turning into a super Machiavellian game of 5 dimensional chess I cannot take it any more! damn

114 Speaking of the 1980s influx of cocaine into the TV industry, case in point: CHiPs, that Highway Patrol comedy/drama that ran from 1977-1983.  I remember that when the show was on its last legs, I would occasionally happen across the show and they would have plot twists like Officer Poncharello saving the day by being talked through disassembly of a malfunctioning nuclear-powered wheeled hospital robot that was stalled the room of a sick child as she lay in bed, "unable to be moved" of course; and the robot was ticking down to an explosion. I can't explain the bizarre journey from fairly ordinary cop show to that kind of thing, except by assuming abuse of a narcotic that creates immense and unwarranted self confidence plus the illusion of creativity, while destroying real creativity. Not just the writers, of course -- all the people who had to have signed off on it too.

At some point you've completely mined out your premise.  So you have to either start repeating plots or go off on a tangent.  It's that whole "jumping the shark" thing.

Or you could do like Mash did and turn the show over to the lead actor so he could turn the subtle political allegory into ham-handed agitprop.

I remember watching an episode from CHiPs in what must have been the last season.  Both of the original actors were gone, having been replaced by guys who sort of looked like them but didn't have any charisma at all.  It was terrible.

153 The girl in China story.. Horrible, but easy to see it happening.  Its the plague known as Confucianism.   Where you're taught to keep your head down, and out of peoples business.  Act like a bee and part of the hivemind.  Confucius didn't live by his own 'teachings'.. He always strived to be part of the aristocracy, and when he lost his position in society several times he turned suicidal.  Always telling others they were worthless if they were poor and complaining, but him?  Well, he was special.  He advised the king.. but toiled as a 'public servant' .... hehe sound familiar?  Modern day government workers and politicians know all too well.  Toiling every day to serve us savages..... at $150,000 a year.. hard work

Meanwhile the New York Daily News has reported a growing number of homeless people are flocking to the site, as it provides a safe, community environment, along with free food.

'I think this is a better situation to be involved with,' 49-year-old Matthew Maloney, who was released from prison last month and spent time in a Staten Island shelter, told the New York Daily News.

'I am around a good cause and around positive people, rather than in that other environment,' Maloney, who has drifted in and out of the state prison system for more than three decades for a variety of crimes, including robbery and possession of stolen property, told the paper.

Hard to respond to such stupidity.

I have yet to see anyone contradict the Buckley syllogism (which collapses down to: no Buckley, no modern conservative movement and no triumph in the Cold War).

Buckley and Phyllis Schlafly were allies--she wrote for NR and appeared innumerable times on Firing Line. Buckley also liked Rush.

Buckley also coined that wonderfully conservative-populist phrase: "I'd rather be governed by the first 3,000 names in the Boston phone book than by the faculty of Harvard University."

I'd put demographics and culture at about 50 - 50.

If Western nations didn't devolve into self loathing welfare states, they wouldn't be paying for and supporting the very people causing the demographic shifts. As it is now, western nations are paying people from every third world craphole to live in their countries and taxing their own citizens at such a high level to support the spending, that the 'natives' can't support large families.

The welfare states can't burn fast enough...and they will....

201 Fondly remember Small Wonder? Are you fucking kidding me? They showed that turd in my town on Sundays at 6:00 or 6:30pm. I was already in a sour mood about having to go back to school the next day after a solid weekend of work and partying. I never thought that show was anything except the cathode equivalent of having a rubbing alcohol/thumb tacks enema. Perfect Strangers really jumped the shark and is cheesy as all get out today but I recently saw part of an episode and laughed out loud when they did the Dance of Joy. Made me think of my mother, long gone now, and how we used to laugh at that part of the show together. Ahh, memories. One show that I remember was It's Your Move. Starred a very young Jason Bateman living with a hot sister and a single mother. The neighbor, played by the guy who went on to play Steve Darcy in Married With Children, was a neighbor that started dating his Mom. The two engaged in some epic battles because Bateman's character didn't like the idea of his Mom seeing some dude. The show didn't last more than a season, but it turns out that the people who made Married With Children were the powers behind this sitcom. You watch it now and it's eerie how closely it resembles Married With Children.

202 District 9 rocks.......once the mecha enters the equation. Everyone misses the thing that's funny about the D9-apartheid issue, which is that interning the prawns is ABSOLUTELY the appropriate thing to to. Because when the prawns first arrived, they unsuccessfully tried to integrate them into human society. Because the prawns were HUNTING PEOPLE AND EATING THEM. Not the first time that a lefty movie glossed over the correctness of the "villains" actions. Like "Children of Men" and the illegal immigrant thing. The movie freely admits that Britain was the absolute last bastion of civilization in the world. Allowing illegals into the country meant that Britain would be destroyed.

But even in collective farming, someone's actually got to do actual work. Even to get a 'camp' together to re-educate the unenlightened, someone's got to do stuff.

The parasitic class isn't just the welfare dependent, uneducated never worked a day in their lives group. We also have a huge group of educated people, heading up all types of organisations and government programs that don't produce anything of value either. Money gets shifted, educated people are 'employed' doing 'valuable' work, but in reality, they're government drummers that got the cash for a new drumset.

239 The Walking Dead, like nearly all zombie subject matter, is supposed to be a "survival horror" series.  And yet there there is absolutely no HORROR to be found in this show.  It's not disturbing, not frightening, not even foreboding.  It just sits there.

The George Romero movies (the first two, at least) were genuinely frightening from start to finish.  Every single minute of them filled me with a sense of absolute dread, even when there were no zombies on-screen.  Even when the scene was just a few people sitting down and talking.  They were truly horrific in atmosphere and tone.

The Walking Dead has no atmosphere whatsoever.  It's just a bunch of assholes sniping at each other over their stupid decisions in between the writers' periodic beatings of the liberal stick (we got lectures about racism and AIDS this week).  Rick's an idiot, Shane's a sadsack, and Lori is the biggest bitch on the planet.  At no point is there ever any sense that we're watching the hellish aftermath of a world that has ended.  It's just a soap opera with occasional decapitations.

Which is also fucking weird. Why didn't dying work the first time? Oh, some stupid government experiment bullshit excuse.

I saw one of them claim that everything would be better if the government broke up the "corporate" farms into smaller farms that each of us could work, grow our own food, then trade with others for items that we need.

That poor little princess had no idea how hard growing your own food really is. She would starve in about a week because she would have to work in the fields rather than take place in her weekly drum circle.

I thought the first few episodes up to the end of the black father and his kid part were fairly well done, but I do agree that the horror aspect dropped off noticeably thereafter.

I really disliked the vatos thing, so dumb. Took the air out of the show.

245 Be lucky you haven't wasted time watching "Survival of the Dead".

"Land of the Dead" was the last Romero flick I watched.  It was lousy and it looked like things only got a lot worse from there.

We live in such an amazing time. Remember when you'd have to actually sit down and either watch a show or miss it?

Now, no matter what's on in terms of scripted television, it doesn't matter. I can always catch it later. It's very liberating.

I fucking hated that damnable movie.  Hitting myself in the nads for 90 minutes would have been a better use of my time than watching that sack of crap.

Diary of the Dead was terrible, but at least it was an okay terrible.  And yes, the YouTube generation are jerks.

250 On the walking dead tip. this episode sucked balls.

I'm also not happy with the Character development. These people should be hardened by death and gore at this point. They should be walking autometons at this point with the 5000 yd stare. They should be doing survival math every second of everyday.

If they really wanted to rescue this show they'd bring back Morgan (the black father), team him up with Shane and the redneck, and get rid of all of the other characters.

Posted by: The War Between the Undead States at October 23, 2011 07:52 PM (46U7o)

252 The man and his kid (not Sheriff Wooden) were the only believable characters in TWD.

Makes sense that the hacks would write them out of the show.

By the end of the Vatos episode I wanted all the characters on the show to die except those two.

2 points about about the culture thing:

My friends and I were stranded on a highway in southern N.M. (with our Texas license plates proudly displayed.) for hours as driver after driver passed us by (all New Mexicans), some even waved at us as they drove by. One guy finally stopped to give us help, he was from Abilene, Texas.

Same trip as above. My friends and I made camp on a mountain between Taos and Red River. My 2 friends, wearing only shorts and t-shirts (no flashlights/food/warm clothing) decided they had to get to the top of another mountain a few hours before sundown. I told them to go fuck themselves and leave the keys to the truck with me.

About 2 hours after sundown they still had not returned and they didn't leave me the keys. I went around to 4 other groups that had camped nearby and asked them to drive me down to the ranger station to let them know that there were 2 dangeroulsy stupid and possibly retarded young men wandering the area. 3 said no and seemed perturbed that I had even dared to bother them with such piffle (New Mexicans). The one who said yes was from Lubbock, Texas. He also grilled me a ribeye and baked potato. While I was eating my friends stumbled back to camp and he grilled them ribeyes and baked potatos too while he chewed their asses out.

Just wanted you all to know that New Mexicans suck and they know they suck and they want th rest of the country to suck as bad as New Mexico does but New Mexico sucks way too much for that to ever be possible. New Mexico, fuck you.

Some of the most desolate and depressing outcroppings of civilization I've ever seen have been in southern New Mexico. Stopped in Lordsburg for the night on my last trip through there, and the place was downright scary at night.  Desperately poor, empty, looked like the whole town was rotting.  Appropriately enough, a road sign along one pitch-black section of street bore the crude, handmade legend, "VOTE DEMOCRAT".

Passed through Deming the next day and it looked even worse.  I was never so happy to see Texas.

Really fast driving doesn't involve drifting, but that's the "movie thing" these days. Ronin had a couple of good driving scenes, as did the Transporter movies.

362 I see you take a minimalist view to car chases.

No, I evaluate them in full context.  If I just wanted to see people drive real fast, I'd watch NASCAR races.

In Bullitt you've got two truly awesome, classic '60s muscle cars.  One of them a Mustang, the other a Dodge Charger.  The Charger is being driven by a pretty cold-looking dude wearing gloves and black-framed glasses who looks as though he'd have no problem mowing down any innocent people who happened to get in the way.  The pursuing Mustang is being driven by Steve By-God McQueen.

The chase starts in the heart of San Francisco and makes its way further and further out of the city, onto the freeway.  The location shooting in SF is beautiful, an invaluable time capsule of the city.  The POV shots of the cars flying over the humps of steeply graded streets make the chase feel like a roller coaster.  The further out it goes, the more desperate it gets and we really get the sense that we're traveling.

The scene just builds and builds and builds until we're watching these two cars duke it out in a life-or-death struggle on the freeway, until one of them literally blows up.  When Steve sends the Mustang careening sideways across the median to a stop from about 80 mph it's just astonishing.

There's not a single word of dialogue in any of this.  The passenger in the Charger never tells the driver anything like "hey, keep it steady so I can shoot this guy" and Steve never lets out with a perfectly natural and understandable "SHIT!"  Just the sound of tires screeching and engines growling.  Ten minutes of steadily mounting tension that ends in an explosion.  All of it crisply, clearly edited so that you always know exactly where they're going and what's happening, which can't be said for a lot of modern action movies.  It's a beautiful thing.

The Matrix Reloaded freeway scene was also good, but it's like 12 minutes long.

393 George Orwell on Vegitarianism
He had their number even back in 1937:

No offense, but yeah, no shit Sherlock, because he was one in 1937. Most specifically at that time he was a Fabian Socialist. You think it was some cute little joke that the queen gave Obama Orwell's book, 1984? It was, except the joke was on us because her and her consort are the biggest racist Fabian Socialists there are. Just out of curiosity did anyone bother to go read the link at Hunter-Gatherer of "George Orwell on vegetarians" in 1937 which takes you to Orwell's book Road to Wigan Peir, Part 2, Chapter 11? You ought to if you haven't, because that little quote wasn't a dig ON socialists, it was a dig on the kind of people who associate that type to socialist. Here's a little taste:

"If you want to remove that distaste you have got to understand it, which means getting inside the mind of the ordinary objector to Socialism, or at least regarding his viewpoint sympathetically. No case is really answered until it has had a fair hearing. Therefore, rather paradoxically, in order to defend Socialism it is necessary to start by attacking it...

Anything is relevant which helps to make clear why Socialism is not accepted. And please notice that I am arguing for Socialism, not against it. But for the moment I am advocatus diaboli. I am making out a case for the sort of person who is in sympathy with the fundamental aims of Socialism, who has the brains to see that Socialism would ‘work’, but who in practice always takes to flight when Socialism is mentioned."

Orwell may have become disillusioned with the Fabian Socialists later in his life but the Fabian Socialists, read: the "royal family" managed to take control his estate until 2025, especially and specifically 1984. 394 399 So was anyone aware that Bobby Jindal won re-election with like 2/3s of the vote? Apparently Louisiana election law states that if you win by some crushingly huge amount in their stupid open primary thingajigger they just say fuck it and declare you the big kahuna and cancel the November ballot. So...great success!

395 Been too sick to clean. Felt better tonight so I jumped on it. I'm sewing right now. I decided to piece w/o batting. I can add it later. Time is running out. How are you doing? My grandpa was the first tomato jelly addict in the family. Maybe it's old timey.

396 Gushka, my dad liked peanut butter and mayo.  Just could never bring myself to try it.  Not exactly sure why, because I'll at least try most any type of food.  He's the one got me to eating peanut butter and pickles.  And to loving football.  Lots of other sports too, really, but now I just mostly watch football.

Really miss my dad, he was a great man, once I got over the teenager bullshit and got to know him better as an adult.

398 PB & Mayo is not bad at all, just kind of tangy. I hate pickles (large amounts of vinegar give me a migraine, particularly the smell), so I would never try that combo, but obviously some people like it.

404 Yeah. I always think of WWII but any past war will do. My grandmother would receive a telegram telling her what day and time to sit by the phone. My paternal family had it good because he did call. My maternal family got nothing. Not even a letter. What about all those folks who got Red Cross POW notices and nothing else for years. Horrible. I hope the silence ends soon. I'm sorry about the R&R thing. I know it's tough.

To all those bagging on New Mexico, as a native of New Mexico I'd like to say y'all are absolutely correct.

It is a terrible, horrible place. Not fit for civilized human beings. You should avoid it at all costs, and be sure to tell all your friends from Texas that they should do the same. If you have any friends from California make sure they know what a nasty, horrible, terrible place it is too.

Oh yeah, and let everybody know that Colorado is even worse.

409 I don't want to shit on the thread, but it's dead anyway so fuck it.

Lost an internet friend today.  Not a close one, but a very sweet Thai girl who lived in Norway with her scandi husband and their five or six year old daughter.

It's so damn maddening.  She was the sweetest thing you could ever hope to meet, and cute as a fucking button.  One of those faces that could melt your heart a million times.

Apparently, and I'm only finding this out now, she was sick with some kind of cancer and lost the fight.  Log into FB and, holy shit, what the fuck is all this?

I thought it was some kind of joke at first.  Halloween being a week away and, well...dunno.  It was the first thing to spring to mind.  Anyway, so scanning through her page to see what was up and...fuck me.

According to the message her old man left, they had found it a year ago.  A year!  Jesus H...I don't know what she had but it must have been nasty.

Anyway, I only mention this to remind you guys, ya know...do whatever it is, exams, screening...feel up them tits and get that finger in your ass, that kinda thing...keep ahead of that shit.  Ya never know.  Too many good people get taken from us far too soon by that shit.

421 1. Insults. I prefer a form of a-x'ing b-y'er where a or b are dog, pig, goat, sheep, rat, whore, pimp, dick, pussy, ass (but only where x or y = lick), shit (but only where x or y = eat or gobble), or cum (ditto); and x or y are fuck, lick, suck, molest, gobble or eat. This algorithm can produce many entertaining permutations.

2. I was just now watching the CBS early news show, and it struck me that all of the people were actually aliens. Seriously. Sure, I'm 1.5 bottles of cheap wine into a state of clinical inebriation, but since when did THAT stop anyone from posting here? Really, look at them. Their eyes are waaaaaaaay too far up in their heads, and they all look like those gray aliens from the X-Files. Which was a good show until it got all goofy in the last season or two. I miss X-Files. And Firefly. And Fringe with Peter. And Chuck. Where's my hot Aussie Bond-Girl-Wanna-Be-Who-Was-In-A-Good-Video-Game? Yvvone Stahotski. Don't get me started on Yvvone or there will be bad poetry like the stuff that what's his name did with the Fox News chick Suzzane Vega or whatever her name was.

Shit, what was my point? I dunno. My hands hurt from playing that damned Batman game, and then I started playing Borderlands, and then I had to work, and so then I decided that drinking a bunch of wine would help and fuck I really shouldn't keep so much wine laying around, and Oh yeah, the media sucks ass and Obama is a stuttering CLUSTERFUCK of miserable failure, and OWS is a bunch of stinky ass commie punk ass bastards. A bunch of goat-molesting dog-fuckers, that bunch you betcha.

So there. That's what I think. 1.75 bottles of wine into Monday morning.

424 Ok. Quick thread review.
Peanut butter and mayo? Gross.

Robert, sorry to hear that someone died of the cancer. There's a couple types that work quick, very sad to hear that kids have no mom now. I can see why she'd want to keep it quiet though, it's the kind of thing no-one wants to think on.
Adults can cope with stuff 'cause wine is so cheap , but kids can't; kids facing that makes me very very sad. But to be honest I have this thing in my chest I know is something bad and I'm not doing anything about it 'cause at this point it can't be any worse than THIS shit so fuck it.
Fucking wine makes me maudlin. Maybe I should shift over to tequila. Tequila has MUCH better stories associated with its consumption. Every good story I have starts with tequila, anyways. That or Maddog.

Ooooh, maddog. Maybe I should embrace my inner Bum and snuggle up with a couple bottles of the maddog. Oh crap, not on this blog, I'd get hunted down.
Just forget I said anything. *whistles nonchalantly * (Hot damn, I want bonus points for spelling nonchalant correctly while 1.9 bottles of wine into the drunk tank.)
