How to Survive the Blood Moooon!!!

808f349c-85dc-459b-8479-2c1633f3c6dc

Potential Blood Moon-Related Incidents You May Observe

Blood Moons are a time when the walls between Neverywhen and Howsitwaz break down. Werewolf cubs may fall randomly from the mirror in your bathroom, and small bats may lodge themselves in the hollow spaces of those soup bowls made from sourdough bread. Turn all mirrors to face the wall and make sure to finsh your soup before sundown. Leave no leftovers! Not even for breadcrumbs later in the week!
Don't Take It Personally

Remember: the Blood Moon is not here for you. The Blood Moon is migratory and is only hoping to continue on its way to Australia. If a Blood Moon enters your home or reflecting pool it has done so by mistake, and it probably trying to leave again. Do not get between it and the horizon and you will likely not be considered a threat. Best of luck!

Does Tuesday's 'blood' eclipse signal the End Times?

Short answer: No not THE End Times. Just a short reign of inter-dimensional perfusion and associated mayhem and Ur-forces that travel along with the Blood Moon.

You can watch the carnage live here.

Meanwhile this is how the government-media complex is attempting to cover up tonight's events. It's all some kind of space planet shadow thingy. Yeah that totally explains the blood and sudden dark urges.

Sylvia Mathews Burwell Proved Her Loyalty by Digging Through Vince Foster's Trash

On the night his body was discovered. Exactly the loyal apparatchik you want running ObamaCare if say you wouldn't be opposed to seeing certain opponents' medical records mysteriously get leaked to the press.

Under questioning, Sylvia Mathews and her colleagues denied impeding a police investigation into Foster's death after his body was found in a northern Virginia park. According to the New York Times, Mathews testified "in laborious detail about what she had found in Mr. Foster's garbage on the night he died."

Media to Soon Rediscover GOP State Legislators

The "GOP Lawmaker" Principle: Why You See So Many Articles About Random Right-Wing Politicians. "As the national electoral plight of Democrats increases, so does the incidence of stories about obscure state Republican lawmakers." While stories about Dems get buried.

Because, you know, the press is largely made up of Democratic operatives with bylines.

Muslim Politicians In India: We Should Hang Rape Victims, Not So Much The Rapists

Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi made a more controversial statement than his boss Mulayam Singh Yadav by saying woman who has sex outside marriage should be hanged, including rape victims.

Azmi said, "Rape is punishable by hanging in Islam. But here, nothing happens to women, only to men. Even the woman is guilty." [...]

Azmi said that the final solution to rape is that if any girl, whether married or unmarried, goes with a guy with or without her consent, they should be hanged.

Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh made an explosive statement that it was unfair to award death penalty to rapists for their 'mistakes'"Boys make mistakes, why hang them for Rape?"

May I point out that this is what a real rape culture looks and sounds like.

Anti-Vaxer Jenny McCarthy Declares "I Am Not Anti-Vaccine"

Something else McCarthy omitted from her interview with Kluger: 'I do believe sadly it's going to take some diseases coming back to realize that we need to change and develop vaccines that are safe,' said McCarthy. 'If the vaccine companies are not listening to us, it's their f*cking fault that the diseases are coming back. They're making a product that's sh*t. If you give us a safe vaccine, we'll use it. It shouldn't be polio versus autism.'

"And now my kids don't die."

Earlier this year, an intentionally unvaccinated 17-year-old from Brooklyn, New York, was infected with measles while on a trip to the United Kingdom. Because he lived in a community with a large number of other deliberately unvaccinated children, the virus quickly spread. By the time the outbreak was contained, 58 people had been infected -- making it the largest outbreak in the country in more than 15 years. Nationwide, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 159 total cases between January and August, which puts 2013 on track to record the most domestic measles infections since the disease was declared eliminated from the United States in 2000.

Polio Finally Eliminated in India

In 1988 there were over 200,000 cases of polio in India but for the last three years there have been zero new cases of polio. Since the virus can only survive in humans, once the last infection is stopped it's gone forever.

The development of the Salk and Sabine vaccines helped lead to eradication of polio in the United States in 1979. In India, too, vaccination was critical.

"There were three keys to our success," Kapur says. "Immunize, immunize and immunize."

Well It Seems Like Alvin Holmes (D) (AL - Montgomery) Owes Somebody $100,000

And an apology.

State representative Alvin Holmes (D) Montgomery, said republican lawmakers would support abortion if their daughters became pregnant by black men. Holmes later said he would offer $100,000 cash to anyone who could show "a whole bunch of whites" have adopted black children in Alabama.

Missouri Will Use 'Sound Cannons' Against Speeders

Apparently the threat of a costly ticket isn't enough to slow down drivers passing through work zones on Missouri's highways, so the state is taking extreme measures to solve the dilemma. Missouri's Department of Transportation is preparing to deploy the LRAD sound cannon - a tool (some might say "weapon" ) that's been used to break up mass gatherings like Occupy Wall Street - to warn motorists that they're going too fast. The device emits a targeted, deafening siren that "easily penetrates the windshield and well-insulated cab of a car, even overriding the vehicle's engine sounds and a radio turned up loud enough to jam to tunes at highway speeds."

Okay after reading the articles and comments this isn't as outrageous as it sounds. It's only for work zones and mainly meant to get the attention of oblivious drivers who speed through while there are people working adjacent to the lane.

This looks exactly like something people in totalitarian countries were forced to display to prove their undying loyalty. Seriously, how empty and fucked up does your life have to be fetishize a politician like this? I've got some politicians I admire, some I even think were great men and women, but I can't in a million years imagine that I would hang iconography like this of them on the wall. These people are sheep, willing slaves, eager to lick the crumbs from the fingers of a strongman/woman. *shakes head* Maybe Jay Carney can get one to balance the Soviet poster he's got in his living room. Overall, I'd *love* to see speed limits that aren't just something some bureaucrat sets and stays the same for decades...take into account sun glare, surface, etc. That would necessitate that speed limits change from primary revenue generators to a real measure of safety though...if you take the already silly 55 MPH and take 15 off because of say glare you are going to see a lot of accidents.

Overall those, this sort of argument is concerning, as often it is used to justify never ending government involvement.

169 If 55 was the max safe speed in 1973 on the average highway, surely it should be something like 75 MPH now...right? Well, in Texas it's 70 on most highways and there are even roads at 80, a handful of long, straight stretches of fairly new roads.

I think the record speeding ticket ever given was given on that stretch, and it was a motorcycle doing about 200mph and it was clocked by an airplane who had trouble keeping up. And, as a bonus there is a great little truck stop there on the Minnesota/Iowa border where you can get a shower, a great meal, and you can even get married if you have your paperwork in order. Government Motors has totally stuffed the channel -- there are more vehicles sitting around on dealer lots, vacant lots, desert, railroad sidings, warehouses, and car-carriers than ever before in the history of the auto industry.....'cause otherwise they'd've had to idle the factories and send the UAW scum home. A woman came up to him and yelled, “Glass!” and grabbed the device off his face and sprinted away, he said. I find this hilarious. Glass!!

I recently swapped-out the power door-lock for my Honda Accord. It took 3 days before the vacation, then another two-days after the vacation to accomplish. If I had to do another one, I could do it in a few hours.

The big secret is that the unit is secured by three screws that were flat across the point -- so you had to position the unit exactly inside a door and in a mirror to put the screws in. The method that worked involved getting three extra screws and sharpening them to a point. Once you got all three in, you could take one out and install the "real" screw with loctite.

Posted by: Niedermeyer's Dead Horse at April 14, 2014 11:56 PM (DmNpO) Nope. Ford stopped making parts for that model year a long time ago, and the aftermarket guys stopped a few after that. Where some places used to get them at auto salvage yards don't have the parts or the cars any more. Couple of years ago I needed to get my seat repaired on my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The dealer couldn't find one anywhere, including local salvage yards. I found one on Ebay and they installed it, but that seemed to be the last one. Saddest part of the whole thing? 2 years earlier I saw the identical car to mine sitting in a dealer's parking lot with the whole "cash for clunkers" spray painting all over it.

351 I did beaucoup research in to this problem. Turns out that I was not alone in my experience with the door locks. I found dozens of web pages dedicated to this problem. Ford says they have to get a guy in there with a torch to torch off the old locks, then replace. So far I have just been driving the thing with all of the doors open at all times. Parking it on the streets of SF. I keep nothing in it. No garage door openers, no registration, absolutely clean. It is only a matter of time before someone steals my spare tire. That is when I will buy a Honda.

He's great, picks up car at my house & either leaves me a loaner if I want one or if it's a good day to be out w/roses he'll just leave his car in our driveway. Rob told service men about windows & they were ready to pull out entire doors to replace motors. He told them not to, he got in & could hear motors trying. He got out & opened & closed doors six or seven times & they started opening & closing. That proves if you have it use it. I continued to do that for next three years.

Posted by: Niedermeyer's Dead Horse at April 15, 2014 12:17 AM (DmNpO) Since the automakers are selling cars with subprime and NINJA financing, those poor folk don't need used cars, they just sign a 84 month loan agreement and drive out with a brand new Chevy. I actually told a dealer who tried to sell me a new car that I work part time and my credit rating is in the basement. He told me they could still get a loan approved and recently sold a car to somebody with no job, they just had to swear that they were "looking for a job" People are even rolling over car loans with principal remaining on the loan far above the car's value, yet they roll the loan over into a new car again. The finance companies like Ally bundle these loans into securities that they sell to hedge funds or to the Fed who can add them to their QE portfolios Enables them to put up headlines like "March retail numbers sizzle, led by new car sales". GM is channel stuffing anyway, so the dealers are begging them to do something to clear their off site overfill lots so they can at least try to catch up to their dealer flooring swingloans. The next time the shit hits the fan, it'll make the 2008 crash look like a minor blip

422 Of all the shit Obama's done, CFC continues to peg my rage-meter in the red more than any other. It destroyed the used car market for those who can't afford (or don't want) a new vehicle. It destroyed the used parts market. It caused scrap metal prices to drop at the time due to all the cars being trashed. And, the vid below makes my blood boil. All I can think of is how much this would have meant to some poor schmuck lugging groceries or a bookbag on a city bus. http://bit.ly/1t38xRh Posted by: Niedermeyer's Dead Horse at April 15, 2014 12:17 AM (DmNpO) I remember we were thinking about getting a car right about the time this program was going on and all the used car prices were very close to what a new car cost. It made no sense to buy a used car for the last 4 years. My wife got pissed because a lot of the cars destroyed were nicer than our cars. And yes, some low income people could have upgraded their 25 year old cars for 10-15 year old cars that would have gotten better gas mileage and been safer, but the Democrats had to justify their expenditures at GM & Chrysler.

We had 3 mitsubishi cars over the years, they were great. 2 were Starions, I still miss that sucker. We have 2 acuras, and they just won't die. Her's has 262K miles and still runs great, but needs some front end stuff. Mine has 140K and haven't heard a peep out of it. I want her to go with another Acura, but it would probably be a TSX, because the TL is a tad pricey these days, and she burns them up with her drive. She wants to go reasonable in case I need to get into a new car too. I told her get what she wants and I'll nurse the 2 we have now for a few years if needed. I can fix whatever happens to break. I was looking at that mazda 6, it was a nice car to drive, although my asshole reckless self wants a hemi challenger. lol

458 What site is that on? Posted by: Niedermeyer's Dead Horse at April 15, 2014 12:57 AM (DmNpO) A powerlifting page here is the OP ***** There was a (sort of) fight last night at my gym. A guy was "using" the lat pull-down machine. He walked away from it but left his towel on it. He had been gone for ages and a girl came over and asked if anyone was using it since nobody had been on it in a while. One guy told her it had a towel on it so was being used. My wife told her that he hadn't been there in a while but he had left the towel on it. She decided to use it anyway and said if he comes back i will just get off it. As soon as she started using it the guy saw her and came over and was pretty rude about it. She tried to explain but it escalated really quickly and they both got really angry. She walked off and as she did he called her a cunt. He then turned back to the machine and started lifting again. As soon as he called her a cunt she turned around and started walking towards him. He was half way through a pull and she let fly a front kick right into the side of his ribs. I was totally shocked. This is a police (PCYC) gym. The guy just started yelling at her and one of the trainers came over and spoke to her and she left. I thought she had been kicked out (I assume the cops have a no tolerance to violence policy at their gym) but about 20 minutes later she came back. The other guy had gone and she just continued training. The whole things was amazing. A guy fighting over sharing a piece of equipment he was doing one set on every ten minutes. The girl kicking him (it was a good kick). People are crazy. It did get me thinking. Imagine if it had been the other way around and he had kicked her... or even if he had hit her back. That kind of inequality really bothers me. If we lived in a world where he could have hit her back (a fair response to being kicked) she never would have done it. He outweighed her by about 150lb of mostly muscle. ****** and you mutha fucka's (like Vendette) need to stop roping me into this, I'm just doing play by play. 479 The thing that pisses me off is how much cheaper the entry level cars are compared to the fully loaded ones, only because the fully loaded ones aren't that much more loaded but have the few things you do want. Perfect example, the mazda 6 entry level is 21K, and it has a good amount of stuff. Oh you want leather and heated seats? Thats the model thats 9K more and we'll toss in a few little gadgets to make you feel good. The frigging motor is the same in all of them, and if you want the manual 6 speed you can't go with the more loaded one anyway.

The thing that burns my ass the most is a loaded mazda 6 with a stinking 4cyl motor is around 28-29K, an Acura TSX  with a stinking 4cyl is 30K. A honda accord with a V6 is 30K.  MEANWHILE.....

A fucking pavement eating 400 horse power Hemi challenger that will snap your head off your body is 30K.

Yeah, it's a pretty boring drive. I've made it hundreds of times (literally). The only way to make it interesting is either to stop for bbq & boiled peanuts, or maybe transport moonshine.

So we use the road all the time. Once you get south below Blacksburg and north above Staunton, the traffic is fine. On I-64 once you get east of Afton Mountain, the traffic just flows even though once you get near Richmond there is considerably more traffic. I-64 between Richmond and Newport News is like a train track. Once you get in a lane, you are in that lane, but the traffic moves along very nicely.

We had two rental car issues with the BH's car while I was in the South. I think one was lights, but the other was that the car wouldn't lock. It was one of those "the fob is inside the car, so you don't need actual keys" deals, and you couldn't lock the doors until you'd turned the imaginary key to the full-off position.

585 My sister got a shock when she first heard about that a year after buying her Outback. She asked me if I knew about this and that meant I had to tell her the Ikea story.

I had a much younger friend who was attending UC Irvine in 1997 and had started developing symptoms of adulthood that manifested in a desire to have some furniture in his apartment that hadn't been part of his childhood bedroom. My Saturn SW2 had much better capacity than his little Nissan. (I forget what it was, a kind of semi-sporty 2-door that he killed himself in a few years later on the Sepulveda pass.) I also had some experience assembling Ikea stuff.

After he made some selections and was waiting for them to bring the items to the loading area, I had pulled my car up and waited for him to wheel the stuff out. In the next slot was a Suburu with two attractive twenty-something women trying to figure out how to fit their purchase and get it home. I went over and help them since I had a certain amount of experience from helping in far too many of my friends' and relatives' moves. While studying the problem I noted that they were very friendly but I was picking up a certain vibe that had me looking for corroborating evidence. I saw that the item could be made to fit if some stuff in the back which provide exactly the needed space if it could ride in the passenger's lap for the duration. One of the women noted that the item was gifts for an Xmas party they'd be giving next month and should be taken in the house when they got home anyway. I picked up the bag and noted the contents as I handed it to her, struggling to suppress laughter.

It was about three dozen 'Xena, Warrior Princess' calendars for the approaching 1998.

When I told Dan about this on the way back to his apartment near the UC Irvine campus, he was baffled and needed to have explained why some women were really big fans of that show.

Nah.  Have a missus, so i'm not doing any pick ups anymore.  Just do it for fun.  Started with me singing Karaoke (Tie me Kangaroo Down) with an Aussie accent, and went on from there.

It's a quirky song that a lot of people don't know, and it always gets them smiling.  People are very happy to meet someone whom they think is from Australia and they want to buy me drinks and stuff.  (Not that I need or solicit it. I always reciprocate.)

Anyways, People love Australians around here.

667 Just a hint of white showing on the left side now... we have a windchill of 16 here, but its worth going outside for this!

668 Here in SF, we have a LOT of white -- white fog and clouds blotting out all celestial vistas. &%^#@@#@(@!*&$&$^

so sorry! Usually that's what happens here -- solar eclipse? Clouds. Meteorite shower? Clouds. We had snow earlier today so I was scared the clouds would linger. I'm so happy to see this tonight, especially since Christian tv has been talking about it for the last 18 months or so.

There'll be another on Sukkot in October

670 Joel 2:31 "The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes."

There is a solar eclipse coming 3/20/15 -- in between this tetrad. I think that's cool!

671 Some muslims still do.
Their calendar is based on the moon...and they still see moon events such as this, as being harbingers or 'signs'of coming events, or signals to act.

Too bad we can't send them their very own Jim Jones to seal the deal.

673 Cloudy and raining here in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Oh well. I got to see a bit of the partial eclipse at 2:00 before the cloud cover blocked the moon out completely. And Muslims are worthless savages who can suck it.

Perfect viewing conditions from my perch in the sky. The clouds parted with just half an hour to go before the show started.

Didn't have as much luck with that comet last fall that failed to emerge from around the dark side of sun. It was cloudy every night.

Almost over now. Everybody back on your heads...
