The Repub primaries are going to come down to four: Mittens-the-weathervane, Perry-the gunslinger, Bachman-the-migraine, and Paul-the-FEDslayer. All others will eventually drop out and forfeit their poll numbers to one of these four.
When that happens, according to my calcs, using the current poll averages at RCP will show:
Romney at 31, Perry at 34, Bachman at 27, Paul at 8.
One of either Bachman or Perry will pull out. IÂ’m guessing Bachman. When that happens her forfeited poll numbers will push Perry into nosebleed 58 and Romney at 35. Paul stays at 8 and will never give up.
All this assumes neither Palin nor Giuliani get in. But they do have current poll numbers so when
(if) the announce they’re staying out, those numbers will find another home –
mostly on the front porch of PerryÂ’s neighborhood mansion, under his dog next
to the rocking chair.

Sifty's quick analysis of the new Captain America movie:
It is a great movie. Taking my beautiful bride tomorrow night for date night.
Regarding the anti-American sentiments of the director and some Marvel tools in general:
This is a pro-America movie. It is Sifty Approved.
The entire film is a slow warm feeling of good. Only one or two stand up and cheer moments, but many little fuck yeah under the breath moments.
It serves it's purposes perfectly.
1. It tells a great deal about the origin of Cap (as they have decided to run with for these movies) in a clear, measured way. We like him.
2. It is not filled with Cormac McCarthy anti-hero nihilism woe-is-me sparkley ghey vampire emo garbage.
3. Joe Johnston did not get to fuck it up for Joss Whedon. The hand-off to a better director for the Avengers has been achieved without destroying the Captain America character.
My guess is that extensive re-shoots and color manipulation was done to add back in a lot of the red, white, and, blue that Joe Johnston tried to take out or mute.
Joe Johnston is a no-good cocksucker who needs to move to Cuba and make 2nd Rate Communist Party Stag Films, but someone at Marvel and millions of fans managed to rein his candy-ass in and force him to make a good movie.
The Avengers is going to break box office records. I predict The Avengers will fuck Avatar in it's blue noble savage ass bent over a pile of awesomeness with big titty sauce.

That sucks, you can fix it temporalily by buying a new dead bolt with a new strike plate and screwing the strike plate on with 2 1/2" screws but you will have to replace the door jam sooner than later.

On the way up he rides his sport bike and I follow in the car(zoom, zoom, I would probably scare anyone riding along, speed is fun). At one point traffic was stopped for an accident and eventually I found out it was car vs motorcycle. So then I start to freak a little as it is entirely possible it is him. He realizes this at some point as he got there after it happened, but does he ride back to find me, NO. But at least he waited so that I could see it wasn't him after traffic started to move again. The motorcyclist was taken out by helicopter but was talking with possibly a broken wrist and leg. Not his fault.

Looking at news sites all over the tubes the listing of deaths varies widely from a low of 80 to a high of 91. Most of the deaths came from the youths at the island.
I think after the hype and 24 hour news cycle plays out we will find that this guy had no "motivation". Like the AZ shooter, we will find that he is a "bugfuck Norman Bates phyco".
But regardless of motivation, there are some serious questions on how this guy was able to get all these weapons and explosives in a European country with the laws like Norway. They can't blame "lax Southern State gun dealers" for this one.
To me it is just one more piece of evidence for why gun control simply does not work.

My douchebag sense is tingling. It was always a criticism of a balanced budget amendment that it would make it more likely that taxes would be raised since, hey, constitutional requirement to balance budget might require hiking taxes!
Not that I think it's a bad idea, it just needs something else to help balance it out, like a constitutional spending cap at about 18% of GDP.
Alone, either allows for all kinds of shenanigans, but together I think those shenanigans become rather curtailed.

Brainy analyst Brian Fishman, counterterrorism researcher at the New America Foundation in Washington, now determines that terrorists like to use automatic weapons.
Supposedly from the "fundamentalist right-wing radical element" [innuendo affiliation to the current government's opposition, the Christian Party which condemned the attack], the Oslo bomber posing in a police-style uniform on "routine response" gunned down scores of people at the summer camp of Stoltenberg's Labour Party youth section.
So where's the explanation from Breivik? 32-year-old Anders Behring Breivik (Oslo apt. and agrarian land interests) disguised in a blue police-style uniform but had never been a police officer "He is clear on the point that he wants to explain himself," the suspect posted on websites with Christian fundamentalist tendencies. Not to mention speculation regarding Norway's NATO participation with the US in Afghanistan and "Arab Spring" gone summer warfare, what public response will be in Norway terrorized by its own citizen.

I smell bullshit.Someone firing an automatic weapon in open ground at moving targets would need to expend a lot of ammo for every hit.
For example the Ft Hood Shootings. Shooter = Military trained with dozens of hours of practice with his weapon. Victims= Trapped in a building. All shots at nearly point blank range. Hasan fired 200+ rounds and Killed 30 people. There were 13 wounded.
A hit does not equal a fatal wound. 10-25% would be fatal wounds. That would mean there are 240-600 wounded. He would have needed to expend 3000+ plus rounds if he were the proÂ’s pro of shooting. ThatÂ’s three cases of ammunition. ThatÂ’s hundreds of magazines. Did this guy who hitched a ride on a skiff have that? Well the answer is no.
This is a set-up and done by multiple agents. Homeland Security has been hyping to law enforcement that Al Qaeda is now white right wingers for over three years! Now this happens.
