Package Bomb Intercepted In Germany
— Ace

It was found in Frankfurt, Germany, addressed to the CEO of DeutscheBank.

The NYPD is tightening security, on the possibility this is an Al Qaeda thing, or that the same actor might try to hit DeutscheBank's NYC offices.

Of course, this could just be some kind of a lone wolf. There are plenty of cases of angry ex-employees seeking a little payback.

4 Given their recent track-record on international bombing, the way to determine if this is "terror" (Read: Islamist) related: would it have worked if not intercepted, or would it have malfunctioned?  If it would have worked, my money is on ex-employee with a grudge.

11 Its just attempted workplace violence.
I'm ordering an investigation into finding out what was done to make this person lash out.
It is usually some sort of discrimination on the part of the employer.

Posted by: Vic at December 07, 2011 11:46 AM (YdQQY)

13 OWS has done a fantastic job publicizing itself.

I bet if you polled 10 people, at least six would guess it would be an Occupier over a terrorist organization.

Well done, scabs!

14 They are about to get a shit-ton of it from the U.S.

So they never received any during the initial phase of TARP where we found out after the fact that most of that bailout money went overseas to European banks?  I just want to be clear on that.

18 If not a disgruntled ex-employee, then it could be a European lefty angry over the prospect of austerity measures.

A big reason that Germany and France are pushing for austerity measures from the PIIGS and bailing out Greece is because their banks hold a lot of the debt.  If these countries default, German and French banks would take a very big hit.

A lot of the European lefties upset about long overdue budget cuts are blaming Germany for demanding austerity.  Insane, but that's how they think.

Obviously it was a Tea Partier, *sarc*.

This kinda reminds me of Alfred Herrhausen's death (he was the Chairman of DeutscheBank) back in November 1989.  The 2 members of the Red Army Faction were named as suspects, but no evidence was ever found linking them to the crime.

26 You guys remember that building in Austin that Joe Stack flew his plane into?

It's been a shell for about a year +, as they cleaned it out and fixed it to be rebuilt.  Now it's nearly done and looks similar to how it did before.

Just wanted to note that one terrorist's scar is healing.  Of course, the innocent man (Vernon) who was killed in that attack can't be brought back, but it's nice that the building is coming back.

It could be a conspiratorial plot.

The post office is broke and in trouble. The government has no clue what to do about it. The Big Time Capitalists who own the private pack services would love it if USPS disappeared.

So together the conspire and they set up a phoney bomb plot using the mails. This proves the mail is not safe. Since it is not safe we should just abolish the Post Office.

Mission Acomplished, Post Office Crisis Averted and Solved.

Feindish, eh?

37 LOL!  Whose the one with the fucking maxed out credit cards?

It's the bank's fault for refusing to raise your credit limit so high that you couldn't possibly afford to make the interest payments.  And for greedily insisting that you pay the borrowed money back instead of wiping out the debt for you.

Hey, they found a bomb-maker's package in Bahrain as well.

Bahrain on Wednesday night said it has destroyed a package containing tools used to make explosives sent to the countryÂ’s airport from Britain via Dubai.

The kingdom’s interior ministry initially reported that explosives were discovered but later tweeted an update, saying “after examining package at lab it turns the materials used aren’t explosives, but contained tools used to make explosives”.

It comes after the British embassy in the capital was assumed to be the target of an explosion on Sunday caused by a bomb placed under a nearby vehicle.

65 Al Qaeda? LOL. Get real. It sounds like more "Anarchist" Euro-socialist "pressure" to me aimed at Germany for daring to be reluctant about the prospect of spending all of their own money to try and bail out the PIIGS for a short term fix that MIGHT let them forget about real austerity measures and program rollback for another three to six months.
