Please Don't Use This Blog To Post Made-Up Bullshit
— Ace

The below got posted in the Open Blog thread.

Initially, I only read the beginning, which seemed possibly real. Then I read the rest, and it's clearly partisan made-up stuff.

I have googled phrases in this "article." The only hits returned are this site, in the comments, and forum, in which the article is reprinted and linked... back to this site.

I am making a note of this to make sure that anyone who read this knows it's fake.

And also to express annoyance. Some people seem to believe that all that is necessary to change perceptions, and thereby change reality, is to push spin, nonsense, and outright fabrications. Then we'll all believe it, and then we'll act accordingly, and the world changes due to a lie.

I'm just tired of this amateurish, and very arrogant, sort of conceit. The idea that someone is so smart their made-up crap will change the world.

It won't. And here's the proof. I'm calling this out as total bullshit. Now that I read past the first paragraph (and I only skimmed initially on a phone), I can see how dumb and amateur this attempt at fictional "news" is.

You have to be pretty smart to change things with the truth. You probably have to be even smarter to change things with a lie.

The below lie is not even halfway smart. It's dumb. Thanks for wasting people's time with an idiotic fiction.

It's laughable. What news organization writes like this? What political organization is this crass?

None of them.

What did you hope to accomplish with this? Are you planning to break any further "Morning Bulletins" here?

Because, what, you're so smart you can fool everyone?

No, you're not. Dunning-Kruger isn't just a river in Africa.

SHOCK DNC POLL PREDICTS ANOTHER “SHELLACKING”

Washington, DC -- The leak of an internal poll by the Democratic National Committee has the Obama reelection campaign staff quaking. Conducted last week with a sampling of 2,500 registered voters across a wide and statistically-even-handed spectrum of the national landscape, the poll shows that President Obama could be in for a “shellacking” come November 2012. Not only did Obama come up short against every potential Republican challenger, he scored poorly among every ethnic group with his score among blacks at an average of 68%, a relatively dismal showing considering his election with 95% of the black vote.

Perhaps equally disheartening for the DNC and Senior Advisor and 2008 campaign wunderkind David Plouffe was the President’s showing among males. After garnering 49% of the male vote in the last presidential election, the poll showed Obama down to a support level of 39%. According to a source, respondents cited a profound lack of testosterone in Obama’s policies and political outlook with some saying that if Bill Clinton was the first “black” president, Barack Obama is certainly America’s first “female” president. From his “mom jeans” to a pervasive indecisiveness to a lack of support for the traditional, once-male bastions of business and the military, Obama is widely perceived as weak. And the killing of Osama bin Laden has done little to erase this perception.

Although the media have portrayed a Republican party in disarray, respondents seem to have accepted this as a natural part of the candidate selection process. Furthermore, attacks against conservatives as racist have increasingly backfired with perhaps the strongest evidence against the racist meme being candidate Herman CainÂ’s win in the first Republican debate. Increasingly, Americans of all stripes are looking at sinking economic numbers and a slapdash foreign policy and coming to the conclusion that an unfavorable appraisal of the PresidentÂ’s record is not tied to the color if his skin.

It's a waste of time for all involved. 49 but this post does bring up a larger subject -
in the discussions of the last few days, some people seem to be under the impression that the public is so disgusted with Obama, all we have to do is present a warm body to the public, and they will vote for that person over Obama in droves
but the polls don't bear that out, and, moreover, the power of incumbency is pretty strong, plus, Obama gets free campaign ads via the MBM
so we shouldn't get too cocky

Good point, which is why I like RCP's average of polls.

IMHO, this is yet another subtle turn of the tongue that we all know leftists are famous for. If you very gently "massage" the meaning of a word, you can redefine it over time. Think of how most people think about the word "progressive" today. And the word "gay" 100 years ago.

But big lies work well, too. Their shock value is what makes them work in less time.

Saw that last night on the local news, it was some funny shit.  The bank foreclosed on their house, when they had paid cash for it (no mortgage).  On the news, they were talking to the branch manager talking about how disturbing it was to be standing there with two sheriff's deputies and the lawyer as they start repoing all the furnishings in the bank to pay of the legal judgement.

My sympathy for the guy was pretty low.

97 Well the way I understand the idea behind "Net Neutrality" is that it is supposed to put government in the role as "neutral arbiter" between competing ISPs so that one ISP doesn't screw over the customers of another ISP by promoting their own content and/or throttling the content of others via bandwith restrictions.  Sounds great in practice, if you are inclined to believe that government can be a "neutral arbiter" of Internet content.  Essentially "net neutrality" is hatred of big telecom corporations dressed up as another one of those liberal 'bright ideas'.

Maybe a little too subtle, and you can certainly debate the author's talent, but some of it was actually kinda funny: "...if Bill Clinton was the first 'black' president, Barack Obama is certainly AmericaÂ’s first female' president. I don't think the author was trying to "change the world", they were trying to get a laugh. Clearly they failed.

Harris has awesome hooters. And she frequently rocks the cleavage on the weekends. I actually have to turn her off at work sometimes because I would lose it if she was up on the monitor for the full hour. Drooling and stupid from poor blood circulation is no way to go through a shift.

Posted by: Trimegistus at June 04, 2011 07:31 PM =============================== I agree. FWIW to you, the city I live in is 54% black according to the last census, and 63% before that. 126 It's laughable. What news organization writes like this? What political organization is this crass? None of them. THE MOST INSANELY BIASED "NEWS" STORY IN HISTORY May 21, 2009 Posted by John at 10:47 PM At least I think it's intended to be a news story. It popped up on Yahoo News a while ago, which I assume means that many thousands of people will read it. It's written for McClatchy by two reporters--I guess they are supposed to be reporters--named Jonathan S. Landay and Warren P. Strobel and is titled "Cheney's speech contained omissions, misstatements." The article is basically a compendium of DNC/Daily Kos talking points from 2003 to the present. It is full of falsehoods, long-discredited canards, and misleading statements. I'm going to bed and don't have time to deconstruct it, but if you read it no doubt you will be able to make corrections as you go along. It is one of those "news stories" that is intended solely for the ignorant. If we had comments, maybe we could let our readers tear this piece of nonsense apart line by line while we sleep. Perhaps someday. http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2009/05/023618.php You were saying, Ace?

133 as far as this story he is citing Pat Caddell as the source of the internal poll. I guess he was on Fox or somewhere saying this. BTW, in the midterms Pat had the same insight into the internal polls and predicted the landslide. Not that it wasnt obvious but it seems he always touts his access to "internal polls".

Also, people who are overconfident about 2012 because of unemployment numbers are fucking delusional.  Obama isn't Jimmuh Carter.  People who would abandon Carter (or at least not bother voting) will not do the same with Obama.  Count on it.  We need to make the case for why our way is the way out of economic disaster, and make the case in words that even a dumbass can understand.  Paul Ryan seems to be the only one who is even trying to make the case, but apparently he's too damn smart for his own good because not even most politically engaged people have the attention span (or whatever!) to listen to him.  Forget the American Idol crowd.  It's got to be dumbed down to Idiocracy level, Sarah Palin style.  (Oh if only she would get on board instead of parading around on her self-promotion tour...)

Ogabe's  "approval" floor will be his popular vote ceiling.   People who sometimes, especially when he's on an international pub-crawl, feel less resentment re: his screwing them and their grandchildren, will find another option, like staying home and watching HGTV.

Some of those will be his base, some of those will be Obots hanging on to Hope but busy clipping coupons, folding their laundry carefully into plastic bags.

Maggot's approval floor has been running about 42-43%.  The only change we have on tap before 2012 elections is higher interest rates.  Look for approval to recede further into the thirties.
