Here's a random thread suggestion: Yet more ways in which the Virginia GOP can make its primary mockable.

Dude, WTF, really??
Said Perry: "We have been brutalized and beaten up and chewed up in the
press to where I need this today. We are being brutalized by our
opponents, and our own party. So much of that is, I think they look at
him, because of his faith. He is the only true conservative -- well,
there are some true conservatives. And they're there for good reasons.
And they may feel like God called them too. But I truly feel like we are
here for that purpose."

We're so fucked.

Dagny, there's whole vast swthes of the country wherein people don't discuss religion in public at all. It's a faux pas for everyone, not just politicians. Having lived in the south as well as the northeast, I can tell you that there is a very real distinction. Religion is just not a public topic here in the northeast and in some other places.

While campaigning in Iowa on Wednesday, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul praised the Occupy Wall Street movement, comparing it to the Tea Party movement. “In many ways, I identify with both groups,” Paul said. Both groups are fed up with problems in Washington and “the two-party-system,” Paul said while speaking at an insurance company in Des Moines.
Yeah, the Tea Party and OWS. Two peas in a pod.

Speaking of which, Jermiad, the latest Idol winner endorsed Luap Nor.
I believe you refer to Kelly Clarkson (from Burleson, TX) who was the first winner of American Idol, not the latest (who was Scotty McSomethingorother)

Has Jen Rubin answered your question about how we are going to fight Obamacare and use it as an Issue in this election, if Romney is the nominee?
It's a great question. We should also be asking how we will defend Romney when the DNC fills the airwaves with how he is an "evil rich 1%-er who sent jobs overseas".

I know. I live in DC metro and have lived in NYC. I've never lived anywhere else other than when I was in college or grad school except for a brief stint in NC as a small child. I went to elitist schools here and in England. I know the meme.
Here's the difference. I happen to be educated in the history of the United States and the philosophical unpinnings of our Constitution. The left has gone to a great deal of trouble to make sure that most of the population has been dumbed down so that they do NOT know that our liberty does not come from the state and that people are so ignorant as to believe that any discussion of God is somehow "redneck" or "weird".
That attitude reveals its owner to be an idiot but since there are so many out there they revel in their clique of stupidity.
It's disgusting and pitiful.

She must have really pissed off the writers for "Grey's Anatomy". In a cartoonishly bad, cardboard TV Doctor show where you can't figure out what the actors are saying because some folky rocker is always strumming and crooning in the background, she got the full Drake Remora treatment.
Even the straight actor who made fun of the gay actor didn't have to choke down the scripts like Heigl. Even the little butterball bossy black actress that underwent painful plastic surgery to achieve a permanent scowl got off easier than Heigl. And now poor Heigl is stuck forever playing the female version of Chandler Bing.
And yes, it was QTWTW, my friends.

Not that it matters what with everyone here having an intense emotional allergic reaction to any mention of Paul.
But at least someone has a clue what's going on. Writing in the Wall Street Journal:
Key take-away:
That it would be led by a Ron Paul or Donald Trump is irrelevant to why these people would vote third party—or stay home.

Has Jen Rubin answered your question about how we are going to fight Obamacare and use it as an Issue in this election, if Romney is the nominee?
It suffices as an answer that the clear, if not overwhelming majority of Americans don't want Obamacare. If that's only a fig leaf for Romney (because you know that he really wants it in his heart and soul), that's good enough for me.

And even today, not Prof. Rahe, and not anyone here can point to a bright-line distinction between an income tax, and a penalty-enforced "mandate." BECAUSE THERE IS NONE.
A mandate (avec penalty) IS a tax. That doesn't make it a good thing, but it doesn't make it the SOCIALIST DEVIL either.

Know who desperately need an infusion of reality?
Romney supporters who pretend that there's nothing whatsoever in Mitt's record that conservatives could possibly take issue with.

Rasmussen 2012 Presidential Matchups
Romney 45%, Obama 39%
----
Mitt Romney has now jumped to his biggest lead ever over President Obama in a hypothetical Election 2012 matchup. ItÂ’s also the biggest lead a named Republican candidate has held over the incumbent in Rasmussen Reports surveying to date.
The latest national telephone survey finds that 45% of Likely U.S. Voters favor the former Massachusetts governor, while 39% prefer the president. Ten percent (10%) like some other candidate in the race, and six percent (6%) are undecided.

That is why I come to ACE's site. I think Romney is great and glad he is doing so well. It is kinda like he is the only guy who showed up for the job interview wearing a suit. The rest are mostly just doing a glorified book tour. Anyway here is where you can hear the other side - and have some fun. I do not believe in just listening to the cheerleading section.
Coming here gives me a chance to see what the cheerleaders on the other team are saying. Lately it has become - The Excuse of the Week blog - for all the not Romneys. This weeks eposode of the not Romney's features VA - oh my!
Perry - Can't talk, can't organize - so now he is throwing a legal tantrum.
Newt - Can talk, but too lazy to organize. Maybe Pearl Harbor hit him while his campaign was in Greece on vacation.
Bachman - Must have been the tardisil shots - she forgot to register in VA
Santorum - So focused on how he lost his senate race as an incumbant, he forget that he needs to focus on how not to loose the GOP nomination. Getting on in VA would have helped.
Some of the people who post here are idiots but others quite clever and I get some great, witty Romney slams... And lots of low IQ, not funny, dead horse stuff as well.
