Poll: Jews Suddenly Embrace Racism, Extremism
— Ace

More Jews disapprove of Obama than approve, which of course means that most Jews now hate black people. (The only possible explanation for thinking a SCOAMF is doing a poor job.)

For the first time since he took the oath of office, President Barack ObamaÂ’s job-performance disapproval number among Jewish voters is higher than his approval, the American Jewish CommitteeÂ’s (AJCÂ’s) Annual Survey of American Jewish Opinion showed Monday.

According to the poll, Jewish approval of the presidentÂ’s performance declined to 45 percent, with 48 percent disapproving and 7 percent undecided. Last year, 51 percent approved of ObamaÂ’s job performance and 44 percent disapproved.

So, Jews are starting to wake up and smell the SCOAMF. That must mean it's time for the New York Times to scare them with visions of visions of the Apocalypse.

Why the Antichrist Matters in Politics

By MATTHEW AVERY SUTTON
Published: September 25, 2011
Pullman, Wash.

THE end is near — or so it seems to a segment of Christians aligned with the religious right. The global economic meltdown, numerous natural disasters and the threat of radical Islam have fueled a conviction among some evangelicals that these are the last days. While such beliefs might be dismissed as the rantings of a small but vocal minority, apocalyptic fears helped drive the antigovernment movements of the 1930s and ’40s and could help define the 2012 presidential campaign as well.

Christian apocalypticism has a long and varied history. Its most prevalent modern incarnation took shape a century ago, among the vast network of preachers, evangelists, Bible-college professors and publishers who established the fundamentalist movement. Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Pentecostals and independents, they shared a commitment to returning the Christian faith to its “fundamentals.”

Biblical criticism, the return of Jews to the Holy Land, evolutionary science and World War I convinced them that the second coming of Jesus was imminent. Basing their predictions on biblical prophecy, they identified signs, drawn especially from the books of Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation, that would foreshadow the arrival of the last days: the growth of strong central governments and the consolidation of independent nations into one superstate led by a seemingly benevolent leader promising world peace.

This leader would ultimately prove to be the Antichrist, who, after the so-called rapture of true saints to heaven, would lead humanity through a great tribulation culminating in the second coming and Armageddon.

One of my best friends is Jewish, and a committed Zionist. He's also a fairly strong Democrat.

Occasionally we'll see a bit of news together, and Obama and the Democrats will be doing something to undercut, isolate, or pressure Israel, and I'll arch an eyebrow in his direction.

I don't have to say anything; he knows what the eyebrow means.

"The Republicans just want the Jews in Israel to hurry the Apocalypse," he tells me.

The reason he believes this is that he has to believe this. The party he supports is not a very good friend to Israel, and the party he opposes is. To square this circle -- and justify to himself his continued support of the Democratic Party and Israel -- he's almost forced to buy into this claim that Republicans are even worse on Israel, and only support that country due to a Christian Theocratic Apocalypse Agenda.

So the uncomfortable fact that the Democratic Party is unfriendly to Israel is dismissed. The Republicans may "support" Israel, but they do so for the wrong reasons, and have a hostility towards the Jews in their hearts.

Which is why this will not be the first NYT article about this. The media is going to push this idea, because they need to get the Jews in line. They can't claim that Obama is a good president, or a friend to Israel; they can only throw mud at the Republican Party.

Which they will. Sure, Republicans are better for Jews on a variety of issues, including Israel, but seriously, Republican just want Jews in Israel so they can be killed in large numbers and usher in the second coming of Christ, who will of course convert the Jews who remain alive.

Meanwhile, the Democrats just want Israel to be weaker and less secure.

Isn't that better, when you think about it?

2 You know, I am glad you brought this up. I am a fairly conservative catholic, who may or may not be concerned, but I swear I've missed the meetings on this whole "The Republicans just want the Jews in Israel to hurry the Apocalypse," thing. Maybe they save it for the homilies in the ungodly early masses, like the 8am, 10am, 12pm, and 6pm masses. But I've heard this once before and it was told to me like it's a well known thing.

Conversely, the perpetual failure of socialism and the welfare state is irrelevant because libtards demand it because they have good intentions.

Posted by: George Orwell what knows Obama is a stuttering clusterfuck of a miserable failure at September 26, 2011 02:30 PM (AZGON)

52

And then there are those folks who claim to have some special knowledge ...

For example, Democrats might be surprised by Democratic legislators who publicly voice support for jobs, students, safety nets, environmental protection and parks but vote against those priorities in order to boost the fortunes of narrow special interests. And Republicans might be surprised by Republican legislators who voice support for jobs but reject job-boosting bills that might harm a corporation or two or increase state revenues. And all constituents might be surprised to learn about legislators who don't understand the budgets they pass, countenance deceptive accounting, fight to keep information from citizens, and choose not to address the state's most pressing problems in order to focus on special interests.

... or ...

This goes well beyond the jobs crisis or the budget. Take education. Democrats canÂ’t say we need to fire bad teachers who are blighting the lives of countless kids, because teachers unions are the partyÂ’s most powerful interest group. But Republicans canÂ’t say we need to raise salaries for new teachers substantially if weÂ’re going to lure a new generation of talent to the classroom, because thatÂ’s admitting that money is part of the answer. Trouble is, weÂ’ll never solve what ails education without getting bad teachers out and paying up for new talent to come in. That means Democrats and Republicans canÂ’t solve the problem.

... but it you dig down, the truth always seems to be more "enlightened" spending and taxing.

The painful truth that Obama is still denying, as are most of these folks, is that there is a limit on taxation and we've come pretty much to the end of the line. That means there must be a limit on spending.

Obama was the "Magic Negro" but unfortunately he doesn't have the power to turn debt into gold.  There is no Magic.  There is only ourselves.

98 #2 Liberals have difficulty with the nuances of Christianity. There are some fundamentalist Christians who actively look for the last days. They examine Revelations looking for signs etc. One of the items has to do with Israel. The people who buy into this are a pretty small proportion of Christians. Frankly, I don't know anyone personally who is focused on Israel because they want the rapture or something. I'm a Catholic, I don't get into this stuff. Libs seem to believe that this is common among Christians or something. I come from an area that is largely fundamentalist Protestant, and like I said, I don't know anyone who goes in for this. But it fits the liberals' need to put all Christian republicans into one category.

101 The DNC knows Obama will lose in 2012. Enough of this already. The election is over a year away. Much will happen between now and then. Dick's ratings will be all over the map by the time the primaries are done. Only a fool would believe everything is locked up by now, and in our favor... when we don't even have an official candidate for the GOP. This race will be much closer than you think. Who else thinks so? Michael Barone and Haley Barbour. Prudence demands we assume the DNC will fight like hell to keep Dickhead Soetero in place, and we must strategically assume they don't think it's a long shot. The incumbent President nearly always wins.

105 Ace,  your friend may take heart from a deeper study of prophecy.  On the Sunday before the Six Day War,  my father preached on the Bible teachings about the inception of the state of Israel and that thenceforth Israel would never be defeated.  The following Sunday the war was basically over, and many in the congregation questioned my Dad as to his connections to the international intelligence community(of which there were none).  His answer: Bible Prophecy.  Unfortunately, I can't find his sermon notes, so I can't quote chapter and verse;  perhaps one of the Bible literate moron/ettes  could follow up this assertation.
What a surprise the demonrats and their co-opted minions will have when the next major conflict erupts, and Prophecy remains true.

Learn more about the Holocaust before you glibly minimize the methods the Nazis used to move the Jews into the concentration camps.

1. Power was the main factor in moving the Jews.
2. Support from the non-Jewish population around them was also key (see Denmark).
3. Many -- perhaps most -- were aware of where they were going. But European Jewry was, by and large, a peaceful group. There was no martial tradition onto which they could fall back to fight for themselves.

Apparently these virgins didn't get the whole concept of gold digging. Then of course there were the stories of people burned on spits, stoned to death, eaten by lions, breasts cut off. Yeah, St. Barbara was supposed to have had her boobies cut off. And the nuns who told us these stories didn't want us to watch Gunsmoke because there was too much killing.

The failure caused by liberal policy and actions is always excused by liberal intentions: We want to help the helpless, the little guy, the downtrodden.

It's a widespread liberal, Democratic talking point that Republicans only support Israel because of Christian millennial beliefs, but, even if the target of the Democrats is to scare Jews with the evangelist bogeyman, the beliefs have spread much further, to the point where some anti-Zionists outside the United States glibly attribute US support for Israel as a scheme to hasten the Christian apocalypse.

I realize with the history involved of the Holocaust that Israel's survival is often equated with the survival of the Jewish people, but in a secular sense from a US perspective, it really is just another country.  A good, important ally, to be sure, but I guess I could see how a Jewish person could still wind up being a Democrat.

I know, I know, this whole argument is silly. I'm sure some - maybe many - Evangelicals support Israel out of biblical reasons. But the vast majority of conservatives are not Evangelicals and they support Israel for secular, non-religious reasons.

The number of Orthodox Jews is increasing as well as the number of Hassidic Jews.  Reform and unaffiliated Jews have high rates of intermarriage and conversion and have few kids.  Conservative Jews are the same, albeit to a lesser extent, and Conservative Jews have been leaving for Orthodox or Reform congregations in great numbers over the last few decades. Orthodox and Hassidic Jews have more children and low rates of intermarriage or conversion.  Although these demographic changes mean the American Jewish population is gradually becoming dominated by Orthodox and Hassidic congregations, this can't account for sudden swings in Jewish voting; Obama can take credit for that.

To a lot of American Jews -- again, at least the ones I was around in Los Angeles -- Israel is more a concept than an actual state.

They go on excursions to the Holy Land, donate to various charities, mourn the deaths of Israelis killed by Muzzies, then rush right off to the Museum of Tolerance to "dialogue" with Arabs in hopes that all the strife will end if we just understand and help the downtrodden.

They live in a friggin' dream world.

OK, I see your point.

I guess I also am sensitive to charges that are often leveled against American Jews (generally by the Left) that they are overly fixated on Israel.  So to me I guess someone could be a Zionist, but still wind up a Democrat on domestic issues.

240 The global economic meltdown, numerous natural disasters and the threat of radical Islam have fueled a conviction among some evangelicals that these are the last days. While such beliefs might be dismissed as the rantings of a small but vocal minority, apocalyptic fears helped drive the antigovernment movements of the 1930s and Â’40s and could help define the 2012 presidential campaign as well.

245 This is from Gallup 2009: A similar pattern is found when the three partisan groups are broken down into segments based on race, ethnicity, and religious intensity (among whites, as measured by church attendance). About half of Republicans are non-Hispanic whites who are strongly religious, defined as those who attend church about once a week or more frequently. Forty percent of Republicans are whites who attend less frequently. {In the graph which won't copy it labels them "not religious"} Democrats, on the other hand, comprise only 20% highly religious whites, with more than twice as many whites who attend church less frequently. The pattern of church attendance among independents is similar to that among Democrats, but independents have higher percentages of whites in both the religious and the nonreligious categories. http://www.gallup.com/poll/118937/ republican-base-heavily-white-conservative-religious.aspx ***** I think Republicans being 40% "not religious" according to Gallup terms might be a higher percentage than most people would guess.

266 226 It becomes dizzying. The numbers are surreal... given that the approximate "budget" of the federal gubmint this year is ~$3.7 trillion, gubmint spends $10 billion per day.

Before this deal between Reid and McConnell, Reid wanted anywhere from $7-10B in disaster funding and he always talked about budgeting for it later (or never). Anyway, the House has not yet collectively signed-off on the deal, so we'll see. Even if the House leadership agrees to it, they still have to get a majority of members.

As for the approximate budget, we know the total for discretionary but not yet for mandatory. I can see the latter easily rising by 3-5%.

285 Let me add something here.

First of all, any Jew with half a clue would have known from Obama's association with former PLO spokeman Khalid Rashidi (not to mention Jeremiah Wright) that Obama was probably anti-Israel.

I spoke to quite a few who stuck their heads into the sand about this.  "Oh", he doesn't really agree with them", they said to themselves.   Empirically, no. . .he seems to agree.

Next, lots of Jews are themselves so leftist, they're in practice, anti-Israel.  Its sickening, but true.   To them, the religion is leftism, not Judaism, and Obama just supports the same leftist ideology that you can find within Israel's extreme left (ie we're oppressors and occupiers, if only we tried to play nice with the Palestinians, they'd leave us alone, etc)

After the most recent Intifada, that strain of Israeli politics was heavily marginalized, but 7000 miles away in the USA it lives on in liberal fantasy land.

Personally, I talk to my Jewish friends about this topic on a regular basis, I know two that voted for McCain due to dem policies re Israel.

Nope, because the sorting process puts everyone either into heaven or hell.

Nobody is "left behind"

The Matthew 24 cite does tend to suggest that. I think the actual question is the timespan involved, mainly whether or not the departure of the faithful is significantly earlier than the final judgement. I don't think it actually matters to any of the faithful, as we'll be out of the timestream for whatever the duration of the old Creation turns out to be (Paul talks at one point about 'away from the body at home with the Lord', but does that mean our spirits are in God's presence waiting for the judgment or are we fast forwarded to it?-that sort of thing).

Jewish people place a high value on identity. It's a big part of what holds them together as a community. Who is doing the snatching? If it is the Angels of the Lord at the second coming, it is irrelevant to the Rapture. Since your first quote referred to the second coming and not a rapture event, no reason this one is likely to be different.

But regardless, the Catholics teach nothing about Rapture, and have abandoned preparing for the end of  the world since 1000 AD. When it comes, it comes.  I assume most other mainline Protestant sects follow this lead.  And most evangelical sects don't follow the popular Hal Lindsey books either with a "Nyah Nyah" rapture. They just think the actual Second Coming is happening.

It is very obvious if you would take time to read your bible.

"That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."

533 her insistence on killing ObamaCare by passing a law in Congress, whereas both Romney and ? seek to eliminate it by Executive Order. The gimmickry of the EO should alarm everyone. The presidency is not a dictatorship, and should a Repub be elected next year, the Demotards will scramble an army of lawyers to remind us of that. Any EO so overarching, designed to circumvent a 2000 page law will be rightly construed as a constitutional crisis. When that bill was signed, it really was a turning point. The only way to kill Obamacare is repeal, but that is very unlikely even with a fully red Congress and Pubbie Prez. Look, it took the libtards decades to finally pass socialized medicine. They have been building up to it. They had MFM help and supermajorities and an ultra leftard President. It will take an ultra righty to have the stones to agitate for a repeal, along with supermajorities to support him. The MFM will battle any attempt to stall socialized medicine which is now established law. How likely is either Perry or Romney to spend all of their political capital "killing Grandma?" And without those supermajorities, forget it. Obastardcare is here to stay, unless there is an amazing groundswell that can overcome the predictable cheap attacks about "denying the nation healthcare."

Wrong!  Coming of the Son of Man = Rapture,  followed by the second coming at the end of the Tribulation.

During the rapture the elect meet Christ in the air.  Not on the earth.  When Christ returns to earth (terra firma) he will descend to Mt Olive and begin the millennial Kingdom on earth.  So,  the first time he comes back to take the elect,  the second time to establish His kingdom on earth.  Easy.  If you read your bible.

561 404 Ah, so you will be voting GOP then?

I might. I actually kinda like Perry. And I wouldn't mind Romney.
You know, I might become a Muslim.

Don't be silly. Hasids in America like to suck on the government teat. They aren't stupid, but they aren't conservative either.

567 I know I've been feeling a lot more racist since I began supporting Herman Cain. And when Cain blasted Morgan Freeman, I started to have a hankerin' for old David Duke videos.

568 Seriously, the great French poet Baudelaire had it all 100% correct: It's always better to do the right thing for the wrong reason, than the wrong thing for the right reason. (Fleurs du Mal)

569 Funny how liberals use this idiotic argument, when history shows that liberals love the rest of society the same way Carrie White's mom loved Carrie: They're trying to cut our heart out of our chest to save our soul. Such total love!! Thanks, but no thanks, Mom, and sorry WE'RE gonna have to kill YOU.

570 Lubavs are not like the rest. They are politically right. So are satmars. Skverers sold their soul to Hillary for a pardon. So try a right wing ortho shul in Teaneck or Lakewood.

574 I haven't heard the Apocalypse excuse that much from the Jews I know (And I used to be one so I know a lot of them.) What I hear is that they fear Republicans because "since Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson took over the Republican Party, all Republicans want is to make Christianity the state religion in America" or some such nonsense. The rise of the Christian Right is America scared the hell out of them and they will not vote for ant Republican that either is an evangelical or they believe is pandering to the evangelicals. They all knew that George W. Bush would have nuked Iran if necessary to save Israel; they knew that he invaded Iraq largely to remove the threat of Iraq to Israel; but they hated him anyway because he was just too damn Christian. I also think that openly religious Presidents draw particular ire from Jews because most of them are not really religious at all and they feel terribly guilty about it. I'm not sure they would even vote for Joe Lieberman - but they sure would vote for Mike Bloomberg, who probably hasn't been inside a shul in 50 years. I will guarantee that Rick Perry won't get 10% of the Jewish vote if he is the GOP nominee.

576 I believe any Jew reading this blog right now would be totally convinced to abandon the Dems as false panderers and fake friends, and inevitably use their own individual expression of the exceptionally high voter turn-out that characterizes Jewish-American voters to benefit Republican candidates. I also believe Dolphins are going to win the 2012 Super Bowl. I believe in believing such things.

A heckler started screaming at Obama as he spoke at a fundraiser tonight. The man called Obama the antichrist as he was being dragged from the front row of the event.

579 Hus du gezen in deine leiben? Goyishe kopf!

I use that advisedly, as the Democratic party wants its Jewish voters to give up thinking like Jews and become "Gentile Heads." If they let the Dems do that to them, the will end up Goyishe kopf in more ways than one.

Maybe we should ask why there's a troglodytic neanderthal who waits until posting has more or less ended on Jewish-related threads to make antisemitic comments.
