Case in point. Someone I know is becoming a dental hygenist and just graduated. She told me that it'll cost about a couple grand just to keep it together over time. All because, one rabid civil servant thought this was a brilliant idea and stuck with it until it was implemented.

Coming out of dental school, she was lucky this portfolio was part of the instruction. Older out of school dental hygenists can travel to Ottawa and pay money to take a course on how to assemble their portfolios. All because of one civil servant.

Morality of pornography aside, are you sure they broke up over porn, or was that just a symptom of a troubled marriage?  Options are pretty limited for a guy whose wife won't give him the time of day sexually anymore, but who doesn't want to have an affair either.

Yes, but why?  There's more than one factor at work here.  A big part of it is probably the glorification of sex in the culture - when you watch a movie and the romance starts the sex scene follows immediately.

But for my money the biggest part is the lack of men in college.  A 10% skew in sex ratios means a lot of competition for available men.  Add to that the fact that guys with low self esteem are gonna sit at home and fap to porn instead of asking anyone out.  That adds up to a lot of pressure on the women.

All five men that I knew were married to good looking (two gorgeous) women who loved them very much.  Porn made their sexual spirit wander, and with that, it took their attentions and time away from their wives, who probably would have done anything to make them happy.  They eventually cheated on them.  Watching porn is a precursor, if not, an act of adultery.
