R.I.P., Patty Ann
— Ace

Terrible news as long-time blog-friend Patty Ann has died.

Rocketman at POWIP remembers her:

Patty Ann was a lovely woman who was always witty, cheerful, and kind. And she will surely be missed. I canÂ’t help but get the feeling that, if at all possible, heaven will be a little brighter today because sheÂ’s joined itÂ’s ranks.

That's from Stace McCain who's also lowered the flags to half staff.

She was a wonderful woman. Few people just make other people feel good about themselves and life. She was special.

1 Dominus regit me, et nihil mihi deerit:

Super aquam refectionis educavit me;
3 animam meam convertit.
Deduxit me super semitas justitiæ
propter nomen suum.
4 Nam etsi ambulavero in medio umbræ mortis,
non timebo mala, quoniam tu mecum es.
Virga tua, et baculus tuus,
ipsa me consolata sunt.
5 Parasti in conspectu meo mensam
adversus eos qui tribulant me;
impinguasti in oleo caput meum:
et calix meus inebrians, quam præclarus est!
6 Et misericordia tua subsequetur me

**************

A ship sails and I stand watching till she fades on the horizon and someone at my side says:  She is gone.

Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all. She is just as large now as when I last saw her.  Her diminished size and total loss from my sight is in me, not in her.

And just at that moment, when someone at my side says she is gone, there are others who are watching her coming over their horizon and other voices take up a glad shout:  There she comes!

That is what dying is.  An horizon and just the limit of our sight.

Lift us up O Lord, that we may see further.

89 @52, I probably know Patty Ann longer than anyone else here.  we were both originals, about 6 or seven years ago, and got along immediately.  I LOVE that woman.  VERY KIND  VERY THOUGHTFUL.  I would talk to her at least bi-weekly, and if I didn't call her or if I didn't answer the phone, she would CALL AND CALL AND CALL to make sure I was okay.  Mesa once (several times, but once that can be documented,)  refered to her as "HIS second Mom."

Patty was a friend, I knew her, we talked, we hugged, and she was one of the original hostages she is a wonderful girl, I've been crying since I learned about her passing, I didn't think the bad stuff was gonna start till tomorow.

I lost my friend, that's all.  I lost my friend.

90 Also, thanks Ace for remembering her, That's a damn good thing.  She's a good girl.

91 I think Patty Ann was a member of Moron Nation when said Nation could fit in my living room.

Patty was one of the originals of Moron Nation, I think she predated me here, She was the Ms. Grabbapple of AOS, always correcting people in simple things, but getting down and dirty like it's what she does ever afternoon.  It's why we clicked.

BTW Mike she brought TWO Pies, even you and I couldn't eat them.  Those were some fat effing pies.

92 Yes I took on the wicked moniker, just for this.

Posted by: Wickedpinto at June 07, 2011 10:43 PM (YKOnu)

93 Here's a true story, about 19 years ago I got into the net, and I made a friend, she went by "Circe"  She was an older girl, who was FAIR at the game, but noticed that I was really good at it, but a bit of a jerk.  We became friends, she taught me manners, I taught her the math of the game, and how to recognize "hidden math"

we talked regularlyShe died about a month after I joined The Corps.

I had logged in a few times while I was in The Corps, but I never saw an update.  LITERALLY The day after I finish my jail sentence (lets not talk about that) for something I was COMPLETELY GUILTY OF,(lets not talk about that either)  I logged in, and there was this mail, from circe, who passed away YEARS before.  and it was xomething like "Doug, you are young and will make mistakes, I know I did at your age, get over them and be the man that I know you can be."

She was already gone, but I had JUST effed up, and it's like she was speaking to me from the grave.

Posted by: Wickedpinto at June 07, 2011 10:53 PM (YKOnu)

94  That hurt too.  In fact, I posted all of circe's messages on the MUD.

I will miss Circe, I will miss Cranky, and I will miss PA.  FUCK will I miss PA.
