Eric Fisher is reporting from Virginia Beach, VA. He can barely stand upright in the winds and is reporting that he sees residents who just now decided to board up. They are out in 50 mph winds (stronger gusts) and trying to nail on, essentially, a big wooden sail.

I read yesterday that they were once a popular pet before being banned in the States. The good news is that, apparently, the will live amongst the native rats but can't breed with them so, eventually, they'll die off.
Kind of like the parakeets and parrots that shit on your car in Ft. Myers. They live with pigeons.

The imported rat probably wouldn't mate with local rats, and it couldn't reproduce if it did, because each is from a different genus, said Dr. Paul Calle, director of zoological health at the Wildlife Conservation Society.
The Norway rats and Gambian pouched rats are both imports, not native.
Even if the offspring mule is incapable of reproduction, a horse and donkey capably mate.

Why are they still talking about Irene. I guess nothing else is in the news.
The mindset of the media. I'm sad for them 'cause they wanted a killer hurricane so badly. They were so disappointed at the lack of dead bodies from the tsunami and then the earthquake.

Giant Mutant Rats? Well then that makes them a new subspecies, and under the Endangered Species Act, seriously endangered.
Thus, you must board up all those buildings, and move all the people out to protect their natural habitat...

The President of the African Union reminded listeners during a live interview 2 days ago how popular Gaddafi is throughout Africa because of Libya's contributions to the financial development of the poorest regions and populations, building other nation's infrastructures and hospitals funded through Libya's oil wealth. Out of all that region's oil rich nations, Libya devotes far more to humanitarian infrastructure construction, education and medical facilities for populations than other nations do both domestically and throughout the continent.
Breitbart reports from Tripoli of NATO's al-Qaeda "rebels" forcibly removing all doctors and nurses from the hospitals, leaving the wounded and sick to die without medical attention.

Having maintained Libya's banking independence for decades, institutionally backing its sovereign economy through their own gold supply, Gaddafi only recently began participating in trading through the globalist investment industry accounts. Economically, that didn't pan out for Libya to play ball given the NATO monopoly policy.

You are mistaken, here's the quote:
[after Westley rescues her from the lightning quicksand]
Buttercup: We'll never succeed. We may as well die here.
Westley: No, no. We have already succeeded. I mean, what are the three terrors of the Fire Swamp? One, the flame spurt - no problem. There's a popping sound preceding each; we can avoid that. Two, the lightning sand, which you were clever enough to discover what that looks like, so in the future we can avoid that too.
Buttercup: Westley, what about the R.O.U.S.'s?
Westley: Rodents Of Unusual Size? I don't think they exist.
[Immediately, an R.O.U.S. attacks him]

Just watched a replay of the new Doctor Who, and noticed something odd.
Only the insane Leftists in Britain could come up with this latest plot twist.
The idea is that the Doctor, because it has gotten to the point that he can repel armies - or assemble one - just by name-dropping, has become a Great Warrior, and therefore someone to be feared. The finger is pointed at him - he's the problem, it's his fault, because he has made everybody afraid.
So it sounds like the Doctor has become a metaphor for the US Military. Never mind that he has saved countless worlds, and the Universe as a whole, countless times - repelling the forces of evil without so much as a light-saber, never asking anything in return. He is branded as evil simply because he is mighty.
Or, to put it more simply, he must be vanquished because he is successful - never mind that he is a force for good.
Who gets worried when a force for good is strong? Um, that would be evil people, my limey cousins! For God's sake, buy a clue!! No wonder your country headed down the toilet!
