Rhode Island Meetup Reschedule
— LauraW

Sending out a mass email to the CT Morons today. Let's talk. We gotta do this before Winter closes in.

Oh, that marina we were going to meet at before the hurricane? Yeah, apparently that has been sorta, uh, "destroyed" according to our host, JackStraw.

Who coincidentally has been spending a lot of his spare time at Home Depot lately.

That's...gonna need another coat of paint.

Roof looks good, though. Real good. Thank goodness the roof held!

Phew.

I went to the Foxy Lady once for a bachelor party a long time ago. They had plexiglass shower stalls for taking showers with the girls.

You'd think this would be fun, ya? It's actually quite foolish for a lotta reasons, if you really think about it.

MA's credit rating was upgraded to AA+.

That's because li'l Devil Patrick squirreled away the remaining $300M he received from Obama's Stash.

And he's still trying to push for a higher gas tax.

Fuckin' weaselly bastids. This state took out bonds for every day expenses, most likely as a hedge against tax cuts.

And he's still trying to push for a higher gas tax.

Nashua. Savor that name. There's a Market Basket in my town, but I drive up to Nashua, where I don't have to pay a tax on cat litter, trash bags, tooth paste, etc. The Gulf station just over the state line on the DWH is always crowded.

39 Possum on a stick.

Good vittles.

Until about 15 years ago there was a restaurant here on a downtown exit ramp that had a sign out front: We clean and cook deer, possum, squirrel, snake, rabbit and boar.

I never ate there.

If they were willing to do that for others, I can only imagine what was on their own menu.

Had one in Denver from earlier today:

Another racially motivated flash mob wilding, this one in Denver

“It’s really unclear as to what their motivation was — why such a large group of young people came together and assaulted these individuals,” said Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson.

59 You guys can come over to my house.  I'm local.  Plus, I have a lot of beer that needs to pass through people, and some electrical work that needs doing.  I think we should attack those two problems in that order, and see what we get.

60 4 That house could tip over and capsize!
NPR nautical experts reporting yesterday morning: The salvage crews working on the Norwegian cruise ship that caught fire are desperately pumping water out of it, because it is in danger of tipping over.   Oh, and this morning their newsroom aviation expert helpfully explained that the P-51 involved in the Reno tragedy was a World War II-era jet fighter.   Are we really subsidizing these idiots?

68 54 when are they gonna finally submit a budget for 2011?

The Spring CR took care of that. They are still working on the budget for FY 2012, which starts October 1st. The House passed their 2012 budget back in April (the Ryan budget) but the Senate never passed Conrad's, so they decided last month to use the debt agreement numbers for the concurrent resolution.

Occupation of Wall Street is like storming the Kings Castle . I seriously doubt if this goes the way its laid out on their web site. If there is a day of rage it will come from the brokers on Wall Street. Plus with a Hippie Driller and a trail of laced brownie crumbs we could lure them to the bowery for a music fest.

78 Hey, Vic, if we go to Raleigh, you could stop by CLT and I could take you the rest of the way.

I am about as close to Raleigh as CLT. I used to go to Raleigh a lot on buisness. It is about a 3 hour drive from where I am depending on where in Raleigh. The last I heard though GCE wanted to hold the get together North of Raleigh.

The idea was to get away from the high cost of "parking" in Raleigh.
