— Ace Supposedly, the rumor goes, he went to Cuba for surgery, and died there.
I hear this from a source too, but he only hears it from his sources, and they're not always right (he tells me).
Can I just put out a general warning? Not about this necessarily. But generally.
I know for a fact there is an effort to punk the media. Maybe the blogosphere too.
Be on the lookout for tantalizing tips. Do not take the first level of verification as authoritative, because they're putting enough thought into this at least pass the first level.
Like, if you get an email from an FBI agent, and his phone number is included, ignore the phone number he gives you and call up the FBI HQ he works at and get connected that way. Spanish Prisoner style.
In this case I already know the guy tipping me, he tells me it's only got fair confidence, and besides, as the link shows, the rumor is spreading so why hide it?
It's a rumor. Honestly I don't believe it but what the hell. It's content.

The story that CDR M just provided the link to has listed that possibility as well:
Semtei said that even the lack of information about Chávez's health is "one big ploy" designed to create an atmosphere where he can return triumphantly and relaunch his presidency by proving that rumors of his demise were greatly exaggerated. If Semtei is right, Chávez will be back in plenty of time to preside over the bicentennial of Venezuela's independence, on July 5, and the subsequent regional summit on Margarita island. If he is not, Venezuela may be in for a political earthquake.

i'm an OB/GYN nurse, and admittedly no expert on mens health issues. I have never read about or heard of a man suffering with a "pelvic abcsess". Sounds like bs of the first order.
Or Hugo is Hergo, afflicted with PID.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement for commie health care.
Remember though that Cuba has a two-tiered system; the higher-up commie sons of bitches get treatment on par with Western-styled hospitals while everybody else languishes in deplorable hospitals where you might get a band-aid if you show up at the right time of the week.
Obviously, Hugo is being treated at one of the better hospitals.

Likely not long from now many of America's most hated enemies will be no longer. Pretty short period to lose so many on the top enemies list.
Saddam - 2003
Bin Laden - 2011
Gaddafi - 2011?
Chavez - 2011?
Castro - 2010 (He's a zombie)
America only can have about 5 most hated foreign leaders at a time. I'm expecting Assad's name recognition to go up. Some JV evil leaders will have a shot to move up to the varsity team. Who will step up? Morales, Lukashenko, Correa? Longevity helps. So does being really, really evil. I think we'll probably get some new enemies in the mideast once the Arab Spring shakes out. And I won't be surprised at all if Karzai is on the list 5 years from now.

And if you were the first one jumping on board and got punked, that'd look bad. However, this one has already been bandied about other sites to the point that it's necessary to comment on it for just that reason. If it's fake (and as long as you weren't one of the early ones jumping on it), that would put this in the same class as all of the "[X] terrorist got killed" rumors, or the rumors that Castro died a while back, or all the rumors that Bin Laden died years before he actually did die. As long as you weren't the first one, two days later, nobody cared and everything went back to normal.
Hell, Mark Steyn was wrong on Bin Laden dying for almost a decade and five seconds after he was proven wrong, nobody cared.

And I respect him (and the large checks he writes for my whoring for him) and pray for his speedy recovery (and more blood money to pay for my liver transplant).

Just as I served my country during the illegal war in Vietnam, President Chavez was unable to tolerate the previous Venezuelan government. He campaigned for the presidency, and won in a landslide. He's the peoples choice, and a good choice.

You know you want to.
It's good for a laugh or three.

I will give you a qualified thumbs up on this comment. Yes, her upper body needs some meat, but her lower body is not too thin. Quite the opposite; her legs are a horrid combination of badly shaped and just a bit too heavy for that shape.
[This of course follows my firm policy of objectifying all celebrities.]

North Korea might go China -- which would be a big improvement for the the Nork people, even if still commie. China commie is better than Nork commie.

I know for a fact there is an effort to punk the media. Maybe the blogosphere too.
This is just the preliminary scouting, probing, and skirmishing. Before this time next year, the MSM and the blogosphere(s) will be engaged in all-out disinformation and psy-ops warfare. The election is going to be a battle in that war, but not necessarily the biggest or the bloodiest. It is going to evolve into a war for the soul of America. Many heads will roll.
I can't fucking wait.

This is still unconfirmed, of course. I am only posting what I am picking up on various sites and Twitter.

Sherlock, the MSM have nothing else left since they abandoned their primary job of reporting and completely transitioned to advocacy and activism. As has been pointed out by other commenters on numerous occasions, their fortunes are now tied to Obama's and when he goes down so do they. Yes, next year is going to be ugly.

Chavez, dead?
It's too much to hope for.
The only way this story could get better is if he caught fire during surgery, and died from extensive wounds to his groin.

Sounds good to me. If he did, I hope he was in a LOT of pain.

If true, and that's a big IF, I exult and take great joy and pleasure in contemplating Hugo Chavez's death and agony. Ethically and morally I am untroubled since joy at the death of Hostis Humani Generis (*enemy of all mankind,) like Chavez should be encouraged. The death and suffering of an agent of pure evil is music.

Very first time you ever referenced me, I was stoked about that by the way, was when I said that Chris Matthews who was just getting into his hyper partisan persona, said that "If bush establishes a democracy in Iraq he should be on mount rushmoore." I think he immediately corrected saying "Jeffersonian Democracy." to give him an infinate leeway, since the US is the only "jeffersonian democracy," and it really isn't even jeffersonian. So he created a nonsense term.
I IMMEDIATELY clarified myself, cuz I didn't want MY tip to disclaim this place. I will crap all over the comments, but I won't taint the main page with bad tips.

When Batchelor put the podcast up it is truly worth a listen. Having recently supported a friend through a heath emergency I've come the realize the sorry state of affairs of our medical system and this guy seems to have a lot of the answers while not destroying the system.
It would make sense that Hugo decided not to enter a hospital in his own country since probably many of his countrymen wouldn't want to see him exit said institution. That being said it's too bizarre that he went to Cuba. You would think he would have gone to India, that's the new place to get state of the art medical care. I kid you not.
