Saturday Morning Open Thread: Dumb Crook Edition
— andy

Aerial surveillance FTW!

When David Hudson, Steven Lynn, and another friend decided to go flying on Friday, they never would have bargained for the day they would have. After returning from Memphis, Lynn asked Hudson, who was flying the aircraft, if they could fly over his house. Hudson set a course for Lynn's home and when they arrived they couldn't believe their eyes.

"When I took him over his house, there were a couple of guys loading up a bunch of stuff," said Hudson, "I was like, someone is stealing stuff down there."

5 Rather odd report ...

Yesterday when President Obama was traveling to Camp David bad weather caused his flight to stop half way and continue by car.

There wasn't any bad weather in the area of DC and Camp David, what's up ?

6 Back in the old days, before aerial surveillance, nobody might have ever realized that Barack Obama is a stuttering clusterf*ck of a miserable failure.

Now he's caught like Bill Clinton with his pants around his ankles in the Oval Office.

How many will be watching Keith Urban and Usher in the NFL pregame concert, and how many will be watching SCoaMF's non-jobs teleprompter reading show?

Hate to ruin your bucolic idealism and whatnot, but it's not really unusual. Farmers don't keep guns in their homes solely for four-legged predators. Can be a long wait for the sheriff if you're aways from town.  (Can't wait 'til the next time this one votes for more gun control for serfs...)

You could have stopped right there, man.  It's right there in the MFM handbook: Asking a black man to clarify his remarks is racist (unless the black man has some sort of conservative ideas, then he's subhuman and/or insane and must be called out for his own good).

Seriously, the Indy Star (Carson's district) ran an editorial--written by the guy who has been covering the GOP primary, for gosh sakes, so he would have some familiarity with the tea party philosophy and activities--agreeing with Carson that the tea party is evil and racist and wants to kill off "the most vulnerable among us" with evil reductions in spending other people's money.  Babies born to HS-dropout serial breeders-with-deadbeats will starve to death without politically-motivated payouts to bankrupt "green energy companies"!!! From what I gather, Romney is working with Tea Party Express. As it is presented in the article, I don't see it as a bad thing. Romney has no Tea Party cred, but it looks like he is trying to be the nominee of the whole party. If they can agree to disagree on some points, I think it works for everyone. If TP Ex compromises and goes all in with Romney, that's bad.

Cool story. I love 'stupid criminal' stories..... Although these two thought that they were being smart by targeting a house that was outside of a town. Which is what a lot of thieves and home invaders are doing thise days.

It was great how the local LEOs responded to the call from the guys in the plane.....and took their directions on getting the burglars. That's not something you see very often.

91 One of my favorite funny crime stories is the one about the thieves who broke into a fancy villa in Spain, taunted and tied up the lady of the house, and proceeded to start loading up their bags with valuables. Well, one of the guys saw a picture on the wall of the woman with her husband... who, by the way, just happened to be Dolph Lundgren... and they dropped everything and ran, shouting apologies as they went. I don't think I'd quite call that one a "dumb" criminal story, but it's amusing in a similar way.
