— andy Wait. That headline didn't come out right. But you know what I meant.
If you have the time, the Ladd Ehlinger Jr. interview with @PatriotUSA76 linked in the sidebar is an interesting (at points, but mainly long and tedious) read. I think the Head Moron is probably going to comment on it later if you want to wait for the Cliff's Notes version.
Also, Jonah Goldberg has a good rundown of Weinergate here.
Yeah, you're right. I mainly just wanted to post that video.

BO says Big Three has paid all tarp money back:
Today, each of the Big Three automakers – Chrysler, GM, and Ford – is turning a profit for the first time since 2004. Chrysler has repaid every dime and more of what it owes American taxpayers for their support during my presidency – and it repaid that money six years ahead of schedule.
Yet on May 24, the Treasury released this news release:
The Treasury department said on Tuesday that automaker Chrysler Group LLC has repaid $5.1 billion in bailout loans and ended its right to draw a remaining $2.1 billion.
The government had committed a total $12.5 billion to Chrysler under the Troubled Asset Relief Program, known as TARP, and the company has now returned more than $10.6 billion of that in principal, interest and canceled commitments.
Treasury continues to hold a 6.6 percent common share stake in Chrysler, which now is on firmer ground financially and is deepening its ties to Italian automaker Fiat SpA.
"Treasury is unlikely to fully recover its remaining outstanding investment of $1.9 billion in Chrysler," Treasury said in a news release.

NY Post: Rep. Anthony Weiner's humiliated wife sheepishly showed her face at a Washington event yesterday, keeping a stiff upper lip amid the swirling scandal surrounding her husband's tawdry Twitter photo.
NY Post: "Wearing a black pant suit and a prominent pearl necklace, Huma Abedin never cracked a smile and kept her distance from the former first lady."
Someone might want tell Huma to stow the pearl necklaces for a while and go with a nice ivory broach or something.

AMERICAN FORK -- No matter how cool a teenager's mom and dad may be, few teens get through high school without their parents embarrassing them.
But an American Fork teen has had to put up with his dad embarrassing him the entire school year.
There's not much worse for a high school student than having your dad wave at you as you get on the school bus every morning. Just ask Rain Price, who is thrilled the school year is finally over.
That's because his dad is there to bid him farewell every morning, but he's taken the embarrassment factor to a new level -- he's always wearing a crazy costume.
"When he did it the first day I was in shock," Rain said. "It's my first day of sophomore year."
The idea caught on for Dale Price and he wore a costume to wave at the bus all year long.

If we are going with "it's the economy, stupid", it should be easy enough to spell out basic economics and the history of this Great Nation to those who have been mislead, shouldn't it? Anyone?

But since this is not a Weiner free zone, I offer this Mediaite?! link and blurb:
Rep. Anthony Weiner has somehow become the only worthwhile news story for a great deal of the media through what some allege was inappropriate conduct towards a young woman, but this isnÂ’t the first time the recently-wed legislator has been (allegedly) caught flirting by the press. A decade ago, in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks, a Vanity Fair article chronicles how the 36-year-old Congressman introduced himself as an auto-parts salesman and asked out a young congressional staffer.
There is more at the link.

Lets take it step by step. Greg Gutfeld says he should have said he was sending the photo to his wife, and that was my first thought, but this is only a good cover for the public -- his wife would know that it was not possible. Was he talking to her at the time? Has he randomly sent her pics in the past? No, the obvious cover story was fatally flawed for his initial main concern -- saving his marriage.
So he had to say it wasn't him. But why not disown the photo entirely? This too makes sense if you consider his concern about creating a cover that would fool the wife. She would know if it was his dick, or his shorts, and she would get suspicious if he claimed someone hacked into his account and posted a photo that just happened to look exactly like him. He is assuming she is not that stupid. So he was as evasive as he could be, and being a lawyer knew that he had to avoid any hard facts. He left it at "maybe it's me, i don't know how".
So I think that was the evolution of the cover story. He needed something that would convince his wife and he figured the mfm and dems would give him enough cover that his career was not in jeopardy. His initial interviews were hostile and dismissive and that made the situation worse, but he still could not change his story without revealing his lie to his wife.
Right now he is hoping she believes he is a poor persecuted victim, and if you listen to his more recent interviews, he tries to imply this stuff comes with being a politician or because of his name -- this sounds like he has covered this ground with the wife.
Again, as a lawyer he knows the worst thing he can do is change his story. Nothing says guilty like too many excuses. This goes for his connubial cover as well as political.
It is the perfect train wreck.

Eh, that would mean his marriage is more important than his career and I'd need to see some evidence of that.

What are you suggesting, he should have sent her flowers? His cover was that this had nothing to do with her, so why arouse suspicion? His play was to act as normal as possible -- tweet about hockey.
And I am not saying his wife, or his vows, were important. His initial fear was that she would find out and an angry wife is a political liability as well. And remember he is old, ugly, creepy, and looks like mole rat. I am sure he does not want to lose his wife even if he does cheats on her.

Frankly, the only thing I find interesting about this whole thing is whether Huma is going to act the offended (or protective) wife in this whole incident? Or whether it will be implicitly acknowledged that the Abedin-Weiner relationship is all just a cover for the Hillary-Huma relationship.
So far, I don't see her invisibility as legitimizing the Abedin-Weiner relationship. She ought either be the offended, innocent spouse; or, the protective spouse standing by her man. That she won't do either makes it look like she doesn't give a rip. (Or, perhaps, the MBM isn't curious - i.e., they assume the relationship is a cover, and not wanting to acknowledge that there is that possibility.)
But that's just me.

Huma Abedin needs to be taken seriously to be effective in her job. If everyone's making crude sperm jewelry jokes about her and sniggering behind her back everywhere she goes ... that undercuts her effectiveness in her leadership position.
And lookit ... she's fucking hot. She could find a replacement trophy husband in about five minutes in Washington, D.C.
She can't be made the butt of his jokes and the thing about flashers is they're uncontrollable. Flashers need to flash. They can't help themselves. Tony is going to get caught doing this again because he's got a disease that he can't control and there are a lot of teenie groupies out there who want to be famous.
My prediction: Flashy Tony curbed this weekend.

There's been so much rain here lately the lawns are doing happy dances.
We didn't have a ton this spring so I'm not exactly sure why everything went nuts. The blackberry bushes are over six feet tall, the rose bush exploded into many 7ft tall shoots, etc. etc. And the lawn was starting to go to seed after only one week.
I knew trying to do the yard work would be challenging, but I need the exercise. Hopefully the high nineties and above temps now will slow down the grass. No rain in sight; burn ban now for the state, actually.

Yea, but if you remember Hillary wasn't really in politics yet when that happened. She needed Bill.
Huma Abedin is a powerful woman in her own right. She has long been working directly in politics and she achieved her power long before she ever crossed paths with Flashy Tony.

Sounds like he's adopted the Glenn Beck/Zuhdi Jasser view of Islam, which is a fantasy. Other than Allen West, no politician ever takes on this subject. Even West hasn't said what he'd do about it, but a girl can dream, can't she? And unless I miss my guess John Bolton knows what's what and would probably be working on it under the radar if he ever made it to the top spot.

Did not get to ask him why he didn't vote to cut that 10 billion. I can't remember what it was for.
In Jan/Feb Marsha Blackburn had an $11B across-the-board cut (IIRC) in H.R. 1 to cut all agency budgets except the State Dept., Pentagon, military and VA, and he voted no on that and voted yes for the funding to build school-affiliated clinics that somehow tie in with EbolaCare. The last one is the one he gave a weird explanation for, something like "I don't want to chip away at ObamaCare" (as opposed to killing it in one fell swoop). Previously he said he would chip away at it.

CannonFire has declared victory over Gooding and all the right in the war of technical explanations of the Weiner tweet.
How do come back from that? Is Weinergate going to dissolve before our ryes?
Posted by: sam bonner at June 04, 2011 11:37 AM
1) Cannonfire has been disproved. Sorry I don't have the link, but his theory doesn't hold water on several levels. One is that it still requires a hack (knowledge of a password), and the other is some technical gobbledygook that I can't help you with. Bottom line: Urban legend.
2) You may not know, but another worm has turned. There's excellent evidence that the intended recipient of the dicpic was not the comely coed Gennette Cordova, but porn star Ginger Lee. This opens up a whole new avenue of inquiry.
3) Even MSM are unlikely to leave it alone. Breitbart has noted that Dana Bash is an aggrieved Hillary supporter and angry on behalf of Huma. She is also doubtless angry at having insultingly stupid lies shoveled into her face and having her producer called a jackass. I note she also seems to be about seven months pregnant. She's probably in no mood to let some philandering groom off the hook.

She has never had a job (other than her original WH internship) for which she was not beholden to Hillary - I think she is nowhere without Hillary. And I think "someone" felt the Weiner marriage would help preserve/secure that connection.
Not so sure there is a distinction with a difference. We know how Billary handles these pesky little snags - so, we'll see if the same scenario plays out.

Further after my #155:
4) Many Dems are realizing Weiner is toxic. This includes Chris Matthews, who says this could cost the Dems 10-12 House seats. An exaggeration probably, but they're itching to get this guy under the bus on account of the damage he's doing to the Democrat brand.

He's Israeli. His birth name was Chaim Witz. His liberalism is pretty much encoded in his... genes. On the other hand he's a huge supporter of the military and capitalism.
When he first came to the U.S. as a child, he couldn't speak a word of English, had never walked on a paved street, and didn't know what television was. His mother and her brother were the only survivors of a large Hungarian family that was exterminated in Nazi death camps.
Gene is an old-fashioned, classical liberal, like JFK.

That's why we all need to be very careful to be supportive of Huma and not call for the resignation of Flashy Tony Weiner.
We want him around to kick around. If he quits, those House seats probably stay Democrat.
So keep it up with the investigative pieces, but do not call for his resignation. We need him twisting slowly in the wind ... not cut loose. Next step is to convene House subcommittee hearings on "cybersecurity" to keep the issue alive and newsworthy and possibly to subpoena the Twitter IP address logs.

I'm reading CannonFire's latest entry. I think it represents a division in the pro-Hillary faction.
The blog holds itself out as anti-Obama and, even more so, anti-Kos. He's also brought up Seixon - the guy who, many years back, got into a war with Larry Johnson (who runs the blog No Quarter now). This is the sort of thing only PUMAs would remember.
I don't have a clue what his politics or motivation is but I read his theory on Weinergate and it has more holes in it than the US budget and does more to incriminate Weiner than to get him off.
Weiner sad he never had been to yfrog before he saw the dick in his tweet. He then clicked the dic and was taken to yfrog which had other pictures of his according to Weiner.
You have to authorise yfrog to be connected to twitter and Weiner didn't do that according to Weiner.
Blackberry automatically uses yfrog as a default when you email or tweet pictures from your blackberry. Most people don't know this, I didn't and I have a blackberry.
Weiner sent the errant dickpic and saw it in his public tweets and clicked on it. If you are logged in to your twitter account it will take you to your yfrog page if you are signed into your twitter account and the pic you clicked on is one you sent which is what happened with Weiner. This bypasses the authorization for you but doesn't let anyone else access it.
To email something to someone elses yfrog you have to have their yfrog email which yfrog automatically adds a password to. Weiner never saw yfrog before so he couldn't have emailed anyone from yfrog. To get the yfrog email he would have had to have been hacked.
This is my understanding from a couple of people ace linked to that did the yfrog tests.

Hubby use to say that he always left his clothes on the floor, for me to pick up, because he was helping me keep my stomach in shape because I had to bend over and pick the clothes up.
I retorted: 'Cool. But a real man would have used 'sex' for that excuse, not laundry.'
He no longer leaves his clothes on the floor

The hit-and-run victim was just getting to his feet when a policeman ran over to help. "My mother-in-law just tried to run me over!" the shaken man told the cop.
"The car hit you from behind," the officer said. "How could you tell it was your mother-in-law?"
"I recognized the laugh!"

Weiner sad he never had been to yfrog
So you have to believe him to think he could not have been hacked that way.
If he's lying about not going to yfrog, then he could have been hacked that way.

Milwaukee taxpayers once again would have to pay most fired police officers while they appeal their dismissals under a provision Republicans tucked into the state budget in the wee hours Friday.
"All this bill does is allow the unscrupulous officers we fire for untruthfulness to game the system at taxpayer expense," Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn said. "It is well known that officers in that position delay justice as long as possible, collecting money for no work."
This was a Republican push and it sucks. We need to call this stuff out when 'our' side is doing it too.

Bob Dole really likes a good old-fashioned penis joke, especially when Bob Dole can weave a little cooter action into the narrative.
Much to the chagrin of liberals, Bob Dole is not stiff, but continues to speak publically and uses Bob Dole's annual boner to film the Viagra ads. Thanks for listening to Bob Dole.

That's the problem with conspiracy theories, you have to ignore facts and admit your guy is lying. Which brings you back to asking is he lying about not going to yfrog or not sending the dickpic. Or both.

Since it happened on a Friday night, I wonder if he's going to claim to have a drinking problem or something. And uh, you know, that made him not remember setting up yfrog to let other people post pics.
Oh, and that's why he doesn't remember if the pic is actually of him.

Larry Craig. According to Wiki:
According to the police report, the police officer sat in a bathroom stall as part of an undercover operation investigating complaints of sexual activity in the restroom. After about 13 minutes of sitting in the stall, the police officer observed Craig lingering outside and frequently peeking through the crack of the door on the stall. Craig then entered the stall to the left of the officer's stall. The police officer made the following observations, which he recorded in his report of the incident, as to what happened next:
At 1216 hours, Craig tapped his right foot. I recognized this as a signal used by persons wishing to engage in lewd conduct. Craig tapped his toes several times and moves his foot closer to my foot. ... The presence of others did not seem to deter Craig as he moved his right foot so that it touched the side of my left foot which was within my stall area. Craig then proceeded to swipe his left hand under the stall divider several times, with the palm of his hand facing upward

Larry Craig i think. I think he did plead guilty to soliciting, and then tried to get out of that plea deal, but yes ... foot tapping lead to that.

I was trying to remember the name of the senator/congressman who became an overnight media sensation because someone accused him of having one foot too far under a bathroom partition, thus indicating he was looking for gay sex.
Larry Craig, and he was guilty as sin. His coverup was pathetic. Sean Hannity's defense of him was painful.

House #2 Democrat Steny Hoyer believes Democrat Anthony Weiner is lying to the public about his obscenely lewd photo Tweet.
"I told him that he needs to handle this and he needed to give the facts accurately to the public," Hoyer told the New York Daily News. And Hoyer isn't the only top Democrat urging the flashy New York rep to come clean.
NYPost: "We'd like him to speak clearly to clear it up or quit talking about it if it's not going to solve anything," said the House Democratic leadership member who said he and others spoke to Weiner.
Some Democrats were even speaking on the record - an unusual tactic in Washington, D.C.where "anonymous source" is an almost universal adjective.
NYPost: "I like Anthony Weiner, I think he's a great public servant but only Anthony Weiner can clean this up. It's becoming a distraction there's no two ways about it," Rep. Bill Pascrell, D-New Jersey told CNN. "These things don't go away, they hang on like a disease," said Pascrell.
