— andy Via Drudge, courtesy of John E., comes this data point on the SCOAMF's little Christmas getaway:
The total cost (based on what is known) for the 17-day vacation roundtrip vacation (sic) to Hawaii for the President, his family and staff has climbed to more than $4 million.
That shared sacrifice crap is for the little people, eh? Especially those staffers and Secret Service agents who might like to spend some time with their families instead of getting dragged halfway around the globe with King Putt.
If only presidents could concern themselves with such things. If only ...
"Christmas has always been a very special day for as long back as I can remember," Ronald Reagan once wrote in a letter. "Maybe this was due to my mother and her joyous spirit about the day."
Although President Reagan could have spent his White House Christmases with family at his beloved ranch in Santa Barbara, Calif., he instead stayed in Washington, D.C. His sacrifice allowed Secret Service agents and other aides to spend Christmas at home with their families.

But it is about as far from DC, and his JOB, as he could get and still be in the US.

George W. Bush did the same thing. I know some of his secret service guys. They stayed in DC less than they wished to so that people could be with thier families for the holidays.
The Obamas act like the trash they are.

But then again, my sympathy for the SS is limited. They did volunteer to join the SS, and they do get to travel the world with the President, so it's a sacrifice they seem willing to make. That's not a license for abuse of course.

The costs for security in DC are fixed. They get paid for whether Obammy is there or not. The costs of shipping him and staff, and his security detail to Hawaii, housing and feeding them, overtime for Hawaii cops etc., are in addition.
And how can SCOAMF, who is constantly attacking wealth, be trying so hard to emulate the habits of the evil rich?

All of the former Presidents in recent memory have stayed in either DC or Camp David. The Clintons spent one Christmas in SC, but realized that it looked inapropriate. The current occupants are nothing more than low class frauds.

People that protect POTUS acknowledge that being away from family during the holidays can be part of the job.
True that. True also for our military stationed around the world or deployed. My old man missed first Christmas for both me and my brother deployed on cold war tdy's.
The point is, this fuck made a choice to force these folks away from their families simply because he & FLOTUS want to live in the grandest style. I am also convinced that they know their jet set life is coming to an end so they want to take advantage of the perks as much as possible. Watch what they do when it becomes a forgone conclusion that he is going to be tossed out. They will wear out Air Force One, and next Christmas will be three weeks abroad. Christmas is Switzerland or some such.

This reminds me of something weird that happened when I was coming home from work on Friday. I saw this college student getting on a bus. As she went up the steps one of here notebooks fell out of her backpack into the street. I yelled out that she dropped something but the doors had closed and the bus was on its way.
I picked up the notebook hoping that she wrote some contact information in it. I didn't want here to lose her work. As I flipped through the notebook, I noticed that the same phrase was written on every line, on every page and in the margins.
And that phrase chilled me to the bone...

I'm pretty sure that's a no. That's telling. He's abusing his position for perqs
This family acts exactly like those people who win the lottery and blow through their winnings in about five years. It's the exact same mentality, for exactly the same reasons.

Ha ha ... I'm reminded by this huffpooo piece (no link) -

Glenn Ligon's "Black Like Me No. 2," a Hirshhorn loan now hanging in the first family's living quarters, is a "text painting" that reproduces words from the 1961 book "Black Like Me," a nonfiction account by a white man who disguised himself as a black man and traveled through the South.
Ligon, a black artist from Brooklyn in New York, said in an interview that the painting's theme fits with President Barack Obama's efforts to create a dialogue between the races.
"It's a really important part of what he's about and symbolically what he's done," Ligon said, adding that it was "intensely flattering" for the Obamas to want his painting to hang in their private spaces.

How does the Republican party outmaneuver The JEF and the congressional Dems on this not-yet-ready-for-signing payroll tax plus pipeline thing?
I say the House should modify it to go back to 12 months, and further modify the language so the pipeline cannot be taken away by a WH maneuver.

The divorce will never happen, unless he gets outed, and it's just too ridiculous to keep up the charade. More likely, he'll get four more, achieve full Liberal Legend staus, and she'll stick with him to get the US Senate seat he owes her for bearding so stoically. Mark my words. If the apocalypse doesn't happen first, my scenario will come to pass.

Look at the bright side. If he thought the election was going to be close, he wouldn't make this PR mistake. So either he is in denial about his prospects and thinks he doesn't have to care, or he knows he's going to lose 45 states and genuinely doesn't care.
Yeah, I'm an optimist.
