Scratch a Democrat, Find a Dictator
— andy

I just love it when the mask slips and these people let you see who they really are:

Virginia Democratic Rep. Jim Moran told The Daily Caller on Thursday evening that President Obama should “refinance every home mortgage” without congressional approval in order to “reset the economy.”

That constitutional republic thing with all its separation of powers and checks and balances and stuff is so inconvenient.

Why, that unaccomplished SCOAMF of a benevolent dictator wannabe should just be able to do whatever he wants. His plans have all been correct so far, right?

Exactly. It's almost like they're unaware of Japan's experience starting from the 1980s. Protect the banks, drag out the pain for a decade or two. It's like not setting a broken leg, but rather taking pain killers, trading the temporary pain of setting the leg for the long-term pain of a poorly healed one.

hadow cabinets have not been used in the United States because [a candidate who promises, as part of his election campaign, to appoint someone to the Cabinet] would face up to two years in jail under 18 USC § 599:
"Whoever, being a candidate, directly or indirectly promises or pledges the appointment, or the use of his influence or support for the appointment of any person to any public or private position or employment, for the purpose of procuring support in his candidacy shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if the violation was willful, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both."

Democrats and their Reset buttons.

I thought of something very similar years before I heard of Barack Obama. It was an Undo feature for life. You just hook a small appliance onto your belt or strap it to your forearm. There are only two buttons: Ctrl and Z.

The idea is that whenever you want to take something back, you just hit Ctrl-Z and the last thing you did undoes itself. I mean, the idea is freaking genius.

I never pursued a patent or any kind of development because it's a fantasy. You can't go to Staples and buy an Easy button and letter Reset over the top and bring it to Russia and push it and actually reset relations between two nations.

Are people in our government aware of this? That stuff like Wizards of Waverly Place is fun but it's only a TV show?

Just like this most recent "job's" bill, this is all meant to be used as a political club for the R's next year. What's really pathetic is that any moron could tell you that this "fix" of his won't fix anything that has to do with housing. If Im underwater and behind on my payments, how does shaving a few points from my note going to help? I'm still underwater and unemployed. 88 What a great idea!

So those people who used their house like a piggy bank, taking out adjustable-rate HELOCs to spend on vacations & toys, and who now find themselves unable to refinance because they are underwater - yes, let's bail them out by letting them refinance at a fixed rate.  Because they were victims of the big greedy banks.

But those people, who took out a conservative mortgage, who didn't go on vacations so that they could pay extra principal payments, and who are able to refinance _on their own_ without needing a bailout, or better yet who already paid off their mortgage -  they get nothing.  Because they are in collusion with the banks to rip off the 99%, or something.

Moral hazard all around!

Three years later the banks balance sheets are fine while millions of people lost their homes and destroyed their credit - and the banks were indifferent to it happening.

100 Hey CAC, you think this is possible? Sorry but I can't tell if you are serious or not. I kind of switch between liking SP and being really irritated with her. But if she does that she will be discredited forever as a conservative voice.

She will surely endorse Romney if it's a fait accompli.

So, none of her past gross shenanigans were enough to already do that?

I wouldn't put it past her at all.

104 If it comes down to one candidate, say Romney v Perpetual Paul, Palin will endorse Romney.  I just can't tell if she'd endorse Romney over Perry if it got down to basically those two (plus Paul).  Will she make a real endorsement that requires her to stick her neck out a bit or not?

I don't think she'll endorse Cain, because I don't think she'll see him as a credible candidate.

Moran is a founding member of the DLC, so apparently dictatorial rule by presidential fiat is now considered a moderate democratic position.

And you know, probably is....

109 Good to see that Jim "Moron" Moran could take some time out of his busy schedule of taking money from terror groups, slapping little kids around, competitive felching, and whoring for the Federal workers unions in order to deliver such cogent opinions on the issues of the day.

Posted by: Stu-22 at October 22, 2011 02:16 PM (k4bdL)

110 Moran is an unstable son of a bitch.  He's got to be defeated next time he's up for election.  If someone like this can be elected again, we've got bigger problems folks.

This guy isn't capable of thinking past his nose.  You cannot forgive debt.  We all own part of this 'debt' in one way or another.  If something like this was done, or some of the crap from OWS demanding all debts forgiven was done, none of us would be getting any sort of pensions or anything.  401k's would disappear overnight, food prices would x5 instantly, and the lending industry would evaporate.  We would become basically Mexico with much worse problems overnight.

Democrats seem to have great difficulty thinking things through.  Its almost like they aren't very intellectually curious at the least, but most likely are just stupid.

You can see this on DU and KOS.  Some of the dumbest shit you'll ever read.  Every time i've looked over the threads there, many people make comments like "well, we're all 130+ IQ's here so etc etc..."  Bizarre mental complex going on.  Perfect atmosphere for being mentally lazy, hence the lack of ability to think things through

Why the Republicans aren't making political ads from comments like these, or the Obama indorsed OWS crowd is beyond me.  Are the Republican establishment types really this dense?  I mean, first Mccain didn't use Obamas racist pastor in ads, now all this wonderful OWS footage is going unused.  WHO'S SIDE ARE THEY ON?  SERIOUSLY

Funny thing (as morally I'm opposed to it), it probably would've revived the economy much better than the 1st stimulus program. For ppl owing under 200k it would've been a Godsend while costing far less than Stimulus1.

The horse is out of the barn now, however, and lying flayed on the street like a work by Hogarth. Democrats always ignore Beer Alley and head straight towards Gin Lane.

Luckily we get Tim Kaine as the D candidate. The stupid in that jackass is legendary. Plus, he has to run as Bambi's butt buddy since he was all over Obama in 08.

But at least the banks have long since paid back the money. It wasn't tossed in a hole in the ground. It was easy for some of them because they didn't want the money in the first place i.e. Wells Fargo. So they simply returned the money as soon as they were allowed. It was a bit of theater to create the appearance the whole banking sector was going to collapse, rather than just specific ones who had embraced certain Democrat-promoted policies more than the others.

It didn't solve the bad paper problem but the idea of just making everyone's mortgage no longer a problem was never going to happen. As we've already seen from the programs that were done, a massive number of these mortgage were doomed regardless of whether they were underwater. That just forced the issue into public awareness because it removed the quick escape option.

Telling everyone, "you get a new mortgage based on current assessed value" would have just created a new crisis by instantly wiping out over a trillion dollars in real estate value at the the stroke of a pen. This would have crashed some entities who weren't previously in distress. So it isn't difficult to see why it was hard to get any adults enthused over that prospect.

Any solution needed to include suffering by irresponsible lenders and irresponsible home buyers alike. Putting the entire tax paying public on the hook for the foolishness of a subset of them was the wrong solution.

When Palin endorses Romney, the sound of the head explosions at Hot Air will make everyone deaf from six websites away. ScannersScanners

So:

If Palin does endorse Romney because he's now going to be the inevitable Republican nominee, CAC will criticize her for not staying true to her espoused principles.

If Palin doesn't endorse Romney, CAC will criticize her for not being a team player and not thinking of party and victory first.

If Palin does nothing, CAC will criticize her for not taking a stand.

Yep, classic case of PDS.

131 I am not an epublisher. That being said, I hate that comrade Obummah can do a lot of the leftswish list of totalitarian scheizze with just another executive order. Comrade President Roosevelt did this same stuff in the thirties and prolonged the Depression into the 40's. Only a world war and productivity boom saved us then. We are far weaker now, in a harsher world and led by a world class idiot with marxist alinskyite tendencies and a narcissistic personality disorder who truly feels he is the smartest man on the planet. Yet another democrud idiot encouraging dictatorial actions from d'uh One would be standard kit from the left, like Bev Purdue, queen of Raleigh, governess of my state. What an embarassment that stupid cow is. They just seem to think elections are for them to let their public cheer for them and then get back to doing the stupidity they do in our names. The overarching arrogance of these people is staggering. And if they lose an electionor the public disagrees, the electorate is stupid and the rules should change to favor the left. What a bunch of puffed up turd hooks.
