Thought I'd return the favor today and share his thoughts on the bin Laden picture.
Well, it didn't take long for President Obama to obliterate those warm feelings he generated on Sunday night. From the moment we heard the news, I'll bet some not-insignificant percentage of the American public said, "I want to see the body." Not because we're a bunch of voyeurs, but because we've been through these false alarms with disturbing regularity since 9/11. We think we get a guy, and then we don't. We had several false alarms with Saddam Hussein, and when he was captured, they showed a short video of him getting checked out by doctors.What's that, Mr. President? The photos are "very graphic"? So was watching people jump to their deaths from the blazing Twin Towers, you hyperactive condescending nanny. About ten years ago, we had a national traumatic experience as we all watched thousands of people die before our very eyes when the towers collapsed. Since then, we've seen Daniel Pearl beheaded, Madrid subway cars blown up, London buses and trains blown up, Bali nightclubs blown up, a Beslan school turned into a massacre site. We've seen enough death and dismemberment of innocent civilians to last a lifetime. So pardon me for thinking that our delicate sensibilities might be able to handle seeing the man with more American blood on his hands than anyone else on the planet missing an eye and with some brain matter exposed.
What's that? It might be "an incitement to additional violence"? Show me one extremist Muslim who's not going to go into a violent rage over killing bin Laden, but who will do so if he sees the photos. Go out and find him. A few weeks ago, a bunch of Afghanis went on a rampage and killed a bunch of aid workers because Pastor Pyro down in Florida decided to flame-broil a Koran. A controversial book, a cartoon, the latest conspiracy theory -- it doesn't matter. These guys are just looking for excuses to run around and kill people in a frenzy.
I am tired of my government's adjusting its policies in these inane attempts to placate the triggers of rage among unstable people -- as if it's our fault for provoking them.
The truth will set you free, even when it's ugly or gruesome.

It took 9 or 10 months past the origional Intel on the Courier, to do the Op (when even getting the Courier would have been a big deal).
Obama took 18 hours, and a nights sleep, to finaly decide to do the Op, even when everything was in place, and was told OBL was almost postivly there.
This tells me he did not really want this to happen.... Yes, he'll now take a victory lap and reap any political benefit, but don't expect Pictures.
Funny how things which most of us 'average' citizen consider a 'no-brainer' (Cap OBL? Pictures? Drillling for oil HERE not in South America?) are suddenly tough decisions for this administration.

The President has handled this with gravity and diplomacy. We don't need bombastic rhetoric and macho swagger at a time like this. The President is right. There is little doubt that there are those out there who would prefer to see OBL head on a pike displayed on the White House Lawn like some grisly trophy from our pre-history Anglo-Celtic past. It's hard not to conclude they are trying to generate conspiracy theories.
Though I believe OBL is dead I've yet to see any proof other than politicians saying they have access to information we don't. The story changes on an hourly basis it seems. The British press wants proof, never mind Arab or Muslim press.
And though I personally wanted OBL to die, mainly because I assumed he would be heavily guarded, armed and shooting back, it looks increasingly like we could have captured him alive. But didn't because it would have further embarrassed the adminstration to keep OBL in Gitmo (or a scary "secret prison") for interrogation. Not getting his intel could get people killed in the future.

My family and I want to thank Brian Williams, the anchor for NBC News. He went to England to cover the royal wedding, but upon hearing of the unbelievable devastation from multiple tornados in Tuscaloosa, Ala., he turned around and came home to cover it instead.
I have a new found respect for Mr. Williams, as well as President Obama. He also stopped to give the people of Tuscaloosa moral support and promised government help as well.
After all of the unfair name-calling and racial shellacking the president has endured of late, America is showing the haters that we are all Americans. Race disappears when it is time for all of us to come together, all of the time.

He's not suggesting that it was a homicide, rather he is saying that we should treat the body as if it were, and get as much information as possible about OBL and the circumstances of his death. I'm not sure that he is correct, but more information is certainly better than the crap we are getting from Obama (pbuh).

I don't disagree with his idea here but I have no clue why he thinks an autopsy wasn't performed. They certainly took samples for DNA checking and I would think an autopsy was done to confirm the body had the same kidney problems Osama did. There was more than enough time to perform an autopsy and the ship would have had the capability.

I'm bothered by the early reports of confirmation based on DNA, which seems highly improbable to me, which have since been walked-back by reports that they are currently conducting DNA testing.
The guy had a lot of body doubles, didn't he? It seems truly bizarre to me that they'd announce mission accomplished based on a visual identification.

That's something that has annoyed me about the burial story from the start. Anyone who's ever driven down your typical interstate has seen the white crosses, bouquets, teddy bears, etc that are left on the side of the road by loved ones of people who have died in car accidents there. Likewise anytime there's some kind of terrible tragedy -- a school shooting, a natural disaster, the death of a young child -- insta-shrines spring up. It's human nature. They're started, time passes, and they dwindle. That's normal and healthy; a kind of shared mourning.
The thing with the muzzies is the shrine won't dwindle. It'll just get bigger and become a fixture. They're a death cult, and OBL was one of their cult leaders. Of course a gravesite would have been the obvious first choice for a shrine, but failing that they'll choose the next best thing: the place where OBL was killed.
"Blow it up," you might say. Well, then the supplicants will come pray at the crater.
"Fill in the crater." They'll build a cairn.
"Knock down the cairn." They'll build another.
Don't get me wrong. I'm pleased as punch that the terrorist dirtbag doesn't have a proper gravesite (unless you call the belly of one of those crack commando Mossad sharks a gravesite), but it seems naive to think that just because there's no grave there'll be no shrine.

Well shit, when I was fifteen years old and in driver's ed they showed us a film of highway accident scenes that had one dismembered body after another. The highschool I took it at knew that this film shocked and disturbed kids, but showed it anyway because it served a purpose.

Barack Obama has always been surrounded by people richer than he was, despite the fact that he was put in that position by being relatively well-off himself.
In Indonesia, he was put into private schools but, as an English-speaker, could only relate to the American kids who were better off because of the inducements the companies gave to Americans to bring their families over.
In Hawaii, he went to a fancy private school on scholarship and everybody he knew was rich.
Occidental was a private school and Columbia and Harvard have some of the richest, well-connected people in the world. Columbia is notorious for having big-name programs in weak fields (education, journalism).
He must have even resented Ayers with the opulent wealth and ease of his childhood and his phony revolutionary stance.
Guys like Obama or Rev. Wright or any of the grievance crowd never compare themselves to Joe the Plumber, their enemy is the guy with the tophat and monocle.

The whole "lose your identity and become Mrs. Bill Johnson" never made a lot of sense to me. There's reasons for it, like having a better idea of who's related to whom and whatever, but yeah, if (and that's a very big if) I ever get married, I'd probably advise against my wife changing her name, though I can't imagine I'd want to make a big deal about it. (I mean-- no way no how am I changing my name. It's pretty awesome, if I do say so myself.)

Obama's motives are different, but the result would have been the same.
Bush would have gone to speak about justice acheived, whereas Obama will go there to talk about himself and milk this as best he can.
It doesn't matter what Obama's reasoning is though, the fact is internationally it will be looked at as us gloating, which i think is good.
Look, i can't stand Obama, and I question his motives on everything he does, but I think the President, had it been McCain, would have done the same thing too.

We've seen countless images of dead American soldiers paraded around by the muzzies, the beheading vids of Pearl and Berg, not to mention what the kids see in their video games and on TV. Hell, one of the best parts of watching Bones is to see what sort of Hollywood gruesomeness they come up with this week.

What's kind of funny is to show their distain for male domination by their husband, they keep the last name of another man, their father and his male ancestors.
The last name thing is a custom, that's all. Applying dire meaning to harmless customs and shoving it in others' faces when you know they are too polite to fire back is rude, hence the shrew connection.
What I would expect if for some reason my wife kept using her maiden name is that if someone innocently called her Mrs Oldcat that she would say 'that's me' and not go off on a big speech. As I would do if someone called 'Mr HerLastName'.

Seriously? His alleged reason for going to NY was to honor those who died on 9/11 and their families.
