— Dave in Texas Instead of having to travel around the world I got a reprieve at the last minute, so I'm chillin outside on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and life is awesome.
Came across this old story, it's a good one though.
Nominated for the Medal of Honor 3 times. Was awarded this decoration in 1971. 8 Purple Hearts. Silver Star. 4 Bronze Stars. 2 Distinguished Service Crosses. Perhaps the most decorated veteran in the recent era.
He passed in 2009. RIP soldier.

was finally awarded the Medal of Honor. He learned of the award over a two-way radio while under enemy fire, immediately after being wounded, resulting in one of his eight Purple Hearts.
Brass fucking balls.
Godspeed, good sir.

Yes, and some was lame (Trapper: Zzzzzzz) but Jay Mohr going kamikaze on Vic in NoCal and Mike in San Diego blasting Trapper were awesome. It should be two days though. I wanted to hear Ray Ray get run.

If there is any justice in the world, the green jacket will go to our savior, the plastic Jeebus. I can't believe they haven't already announced it. Poor man can't even take a walk in the park . . .

Yeah, after this many years, he really should make it a two day event. I managed to catch the last hour and a half or so, so I missed Jay Mohr unfortunately.
I remember when Steve Carbone won in the late 90s, I didn't think he still called the show. Second place wasn't bad for him though.

He'd never be invited. Golfers are overwhelmingly conservative.
In the early 90's, Tom Watson was the captain of the U.S. Ryder Cup team and when Clinton wanted to meet them before they headed to the U.K., the team said no. They eventually did meet but it was uncomfortable to say the least.

Everything on the floor had to be thrown away. I cried like a baby and downed half a bottle of wine. Next morning, Service Master had the basement looking (and smelling) like new.

It's why you don't pay hostage-takers, and it's why you don't let human shields be shields.
If you pay for something, you get more of it. Basic economics. If murder works as political intimidation, it will become the norm.
*Europe* is boned because they won't deal with that idea. People want to get to B but they don't want to leave A to do it, what's between is too scary.
Someone was telling me the other day that they were afraid things were going to get really ugly. I just shook my head - things are already pretty damned ugly.

Jane, my condolences also.
B'Gal and I were just on the back porch commenting on how good life is ourselves. I was sipping a cold Guinness as we await the kids coming over with the love of my life, the 5yo granddaughter. Sure, we have to scramble for money, but other than that, things could be much worse. And they aren't.
Been watching the Masters and poor Rory's meltdown. Someone needs to remind him that being ranked 9th in the world is still pretty good for being his age.
Bob Howard is a real American (and probably a cousin, being as how us Alabamians are so close, IFKWIMAITYD), guys like him don't come along often enough. They are a stark contrast to the idiots in Washington who think we can win a politically correct war with no civilian casualties.
But enough bitching. I have another cold beer to save from an icy death before the kids get here.
Oooh, Schwartzel just won the Masters. Good for him, whoever he is.

Jane, be strong and have faith that you'll see him again. It's so sad you had to break the news to your son. Eagle Scouts are another breed apart, like Col. Howard.

The past few days when I'm viewing Youtube vids, the ENTIRE file has to download before I can watch even a second of it. Is this a new Youtube thing, or is it something screwy with my laptop or Firefox?

And then Oprah had Tiger on her show and proclaimed him, "My son!"
Bitch has a way.

Heh, somebody else was complaining about that on the ONT the other night. Seems to be going around. Buzzion told whoever it was (sorry, I forget) to check their download/upload speed, but that wasn't it. IIRC, whoever it was, was on IE.

Ahhh, I see. I have a hard time keeping up with the vernacular. How's this? Tiger losing is the bee's knees. Groovy?

--So it may be a Youtube thing rather than a browser thing. Yeah, of course I would love rocket speed downloads, but even when it's slow I could at least start watching a Youtube vid while it was still downloading. Now when I want to watch a 45 minute video I have to wait for the whole damn thing to load before I can watch anything.

That was me logprob, I am having the same problem. I tried all the fixes people suggested but it's still the same. It isn't just you tube either. I was just watching a newsclip on ABC and it was doing the same thing.
I don't know what's causing it.

No I use IE. The only thing I found was on windows media player when I ran the automatic fix it said it may have found settings that have been changed, really I thought you were supposed to fix that?
Someone said an update could have changed it but who knows. I am going to call my provider tomorrow and see if they know what it could be.

This is funny, because the last night we were there (Thursday), after dinner with friends, I said, Hey, hon, we have to gamble just a little bit. And so, after having been there fifteen years ago, D'oh hit the Blackjack table and won enough money to pay for all our dinners, cab rides, and even the "emergency" limo we took from the Venetian to Caesar's for dinner (winds of 50 mpg). Luckily, he knew when to Walk Away.
