7 Futuristic Movies That Got It Right
It's a tradeoff in doing a sci-fi movie - make the technology too advanced and it seems like magic which is rather boring, but make it too contemporary and you get a movie that's dated before the decade is out.

15 Celebrity Cringe-Worthy Rock Bottom Moments
Like punching a tranny:
One night, while admittedly totally wasted, Bonaduce tried to pick up a prostitute. What he got was Darius Barney, a 220lb man dressed like a woman. How does someone make a mistake like that? Wasted.Bonaduce says that as soon as he saw Barney in the light, he wasnÂ’t so wasted that he couldnÂ’t tell what happened, and he told Barney to get out. Barney demanded $40 for his time and effort so when the two got out of the car, Bonaduce did what any self-respecting, wasted man would do when confronted with a transvestite that outweighed him by about 70lbs, he sucker punched him.

I can't stand Britney Spears either, but I have to come to her defense. She looks better than she has in years. She's not a size zero anymore, certainly, but she's in good shape. She's like a...a...well, I don't know. She's still smaller than a ten, I guess? One of the 'Ettes would probably know better. But my point is, she's got a little meat on her and that's how it should be. I hate looking at stick thin women who look like they've been in a concentration camp. I shouldn't be able to point out muscle groups across their abs and thighs. That's gross.
Spears' problem is that she's wearing shit that's meant for that kind of sstick thin concentration camp girl, not someone with a little meat, so it looks bad on her. She needs shit that accentuates her body, not something that fights it.
Or, short version, I'd fap to it.

There are enough credible reports to believe that there is something to the whole thing. Not sure it's spirits of the dead walking the earth but something.
Maybe aliens. If Close Encounters of the Third Kind taught us anything, it's that "haunted houses" could also be weird forms of alien communication, perhaps a communication attempt gone wrong.

1. "Imagine" wasn't intended to be a Commie manifesto, just a mindless "feel good" song. The assistant said that in later years, Lennon "was embarrassed " by it.
2. Lennon engaged the assistant in a political conversation in early 1980. According to the assistant, Lennon said that if he were eligible to vote in America, he'd vote for Reagan over Carter.

Heh. I've heard two things about the RE movies - the first thing is that they're going to reboot the series and the second thing is that Paul WS Anderson wants to make another sequel that starts directly where RE: Afterlife left off.
/Both are bad ideas. The RE franchise has been completely damaged. If they want to make RE movies, stick with the animated ones. RE: Damnation is coming out late 2012.

The quality of zombie movies has decreased over the past few years. George Romeo can only ride that shambling corpse for so long - Diary of the Dead was a decent attempt to try to put something new into the zombie franchise, but the only lesson from that movie that I gleamed was that the "YouTube Generation are Assholes".

We'll take as given that you saw a ghost, and weren't hallucinating or the victim of a hoax. My question is, why aren't you fucking insane?
You've got proof, at least to yourself, that ghosts exist. You should be spending all your time either trying to make contact with dead loved ones, or trying to find a way to ghost-proof your house so that ectoplasmic horrors from beyond can't come and get you! You should be devoutly, fanatically religious because you have proof that souls exist apart from the body.
You should be spending your life in either a state of religious ecstasy because you have proof, or in Lovecraftian terror.
But people who saw a ghost (or a being from another world) seem to just treat it as an interesting anecdote, like the time they saw that guy who was the drummer for that band shopping at Old Navy. I just don't get it.

Last month (our second month of "extreme" couponing), we bout $1200 of groceries...and all the expensive crap: razors, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, deodorant, bowl cleaner, peanut butter, band-aids, neosporin, shampoo... all that crap you put off buying because it hurts the wallet. We now have a 2 year supply of all that crap for... (wait for it)... $375.
buy 6 sunday papers, do your research, and pay 25%. get on it, monors.

Greetings, all, from the Great Peoples Democratic Republic of Maryland where I'm visiting my sister for her birthday.

Aliens invade east Houston , are seduced into a siesta with young, hot, enticing senoritas (margaritas may be involved), then are overrun by a human wave assualt led by thousands of rebel yelling Billy Bobs.

Oh yeah. the first few months you have to kinda suck it up until you build up your stock. The coupons go in annual cycles... like: once the holidays hit, you get all the canned goods.
Right now, it's all about deodorant, makeup, razors, shaving cream, shampoo, laundry detergent etc. etc. You have to plan around that. Do it for 2 years and your extra bedroom/pantry/garage will look like a 7-11.

tangonline.
How is that possible?
Posted by: Ben at June 18, 2011 11:07 PM (DKV43)
Coupons + sales. If it's on sale AND you have a coupon... $$. Also, Walgreens gives "register cash" for certain purchases. Example: a pack of disposable razors is on sale for $6.00. You have a $3.00 off coupon, AND they give a $5.00 register cash credit which you can spend on anything in the store (usually has a 2-week expiration). We only buy the stuff that meets all those criteria, and you'd be surprised at how much stuff that is.

Hell, we got 20 jars of bbq sauce for free last week. Was a sale at Safeway and we had a coupon got them for $0.01 each.
Wait, how?
I mean, i read the sunday paper, and the coupons are essentially, but 2 items get 25 cents off, but the items cost 2-3 bucks each.
So you're paying 6 bucks to save a quarter.
Where is the coupon that gets things to cost one cent?

nono.
The bbq sauce was $1.99. With safeway card it was buy 1 get 1 free. We had $0.50 coupons (which safeway doubles). That's $1.00/jar BEFORE the coupon, which they apply to every item individually, so the ended up charging us $0.01 each.

My wife works 18 hours a day AND she's working on her PhD, so I get like zero time with her, so those Sunday mornings mean a lot to me. Every other week, we go shopping and cash in on our efforts.
It's a plus for a variety of reasons: it's something she gets into, it's something she enjoys spending time with me doing, and it reduces our outgoing $$ by about 55%/month from what we used to do.

But, since I now have the DVR, I can record all my favorite shows (House, CSI, The Glades) and watch them once the miles of code turn by brain to mush.

What happened after that was almost all bad. But there was a man who stepped into the scene to change my life completely, and I don't think he's done yet. My father's baby brother was a hell of a man. I am a big man, 6' 5", 230, but he tossed me around like I was a rag doll (we once broke my aunt's couch in half wrestling during half-time of an NFL game!). He was an incredible artist. Almost everything he turned his hands to became beautiful. He dabbled in stained glass, in carving, in leatherwork, even in playing the banjo.
He died when I was a young man. I wasn't by any means ready for him to go. There were still so many things he had to teach me--we both had daughters one and a half years apart.
So many times I have fallen down, and even after his death, he has picked me up.
So on Father's Day, I feel joy that I have four wonderful kids. I am grateful beyond words for my wife who values me as a father and as a husband.
But Father's Day will always be a bittersweet day for me, because my "father" isn't here to enjoy it with me. He would have LOVED my kids!
I will always feel bad that I wasn't with him when it happened. I am SURE I could have done something--but you know, that's how he was. He liked being by himself a lot, and he didn't like asking people to help. Now, he'd ask me to "help" but he was only doing it so that I could learn how to feed the horses, how to string electrical fence, how to build a silo.
But he never thought there wasn't something he couldn't do by himself. And, dammit, he was right, right up until he strapped a log chain around the end of a tree and flipped his tractor, crushing him beneath the steering wheel.
Tomorrow, though, I'm going to remember all of the things he taught me and try to help each of my kids with something they might remember their whole lives like he did with me so many times.
But I will NEVER forget the cowboy, the FATHER who taught me how to do so many things. How to be honorable, how to be a man, and most importantly, how to be a father.

As long as you enjoyed it you need not bother wondering what was altered. I've read nothing but bad reviews so to find someone that liked it is good news to me.

First, they're very racist. They feel guilty about it and simply project their feelings onto others.
Second, they are deathly afraid of being called a hypocrite, but everything they do in their life leads them to feel guilty. Their use of carbon, their lack of volunteering, their insensitivity to matters of race and class.
The easiest tool to have in your toolbox is to accuse them of projection.

Been away for a while...
How goes the Betty / Veronica thing?
I was wondering...how do we know the NYT reporter is telling the truth about those ID's being fake?
Maybe he's lying, to try to discredit us / ourside / Breitbart.
If these ID's are fake, shouldn't he be willing to share them with other reporters / bloggers so that they could work on figuring this out too?
Why would he lie? Maybe the sources are real, but don't want to be ID'ed, so they don't get trashed. And the reporter gets the bright idea, hey, I'll both keep them anonymous and throw a red herring / monkey wrench into the rights/Breitbarts plans/reputations by spreading the rumor that this was all part of Breitbarts nefarious plan to entrap Weiner.
Anyway, I've been away all day, so if this is old or discredited, disreguard it.
(I suppose I should go read the Betty / Veronica comments / thread to get caught up...)
