— DrewM On NBC now.
Even I'm thinking the Stanley Cup Final this late in the year is a little crazy. They really need to cut 5-7 games out of the regular season and wrap this puppy up before Memorial Day. File that under "Yeah but it'll never happen".
Anyway...If you're following the series it's been one of momentum swings. After 2 close games in Vancouver, the Canucks were up 2-0 and it looked like it might be a short series.
And then they went to Boston. After two Bruins ass-whoopings the series is tied at 2 but you'd think it was 3-0 Bruins.
The Canucks are a very, very skilled team that simply simply has no ability to stop the bleeding when things go bad. If they are controlling the game, very few teams in the league can play with them. But the second it starts to go bad...it just gets worse.
That's basically the story of their goalie Roberto Luongo as well. He was pulled in the last game after giving up 4 goals (he gave up 8 in Game 3). Watch for him to be on the proverbial short-leash tonight. If he starts to box the puck around and giving up big rebounds...the end is near for him, it's just a matter of time (shoot glove side kids!).
Also watch for the physicality of the Bruins. They are just beating the hell out of the Canucks. As a long series adds to an already long season it adds up.
I'm pretty sure I had the Bruins in 6 so, I'm liking this so far.

Either the Vancouver Cauncks will win the Cup, or Tim Thomas will. Vancouver is deeper and more skilled than the B's, but Thomas is... well, he's Tim Thomas.

Isn't the problem really just that too many teams make the playoffs?

Someone stole my ipod from my car.
I'm so pissed right now. I can't even enjoy this game.
Son of a bitch.
Nothing else was touched, just my damn ipod.

The Canucks are great to watch when they are on but their team identity is just so fucking unlikable. they can lose soon enough for me.

I guess in Canada, it's still cool to be proud of your country.

Yeah, I'm going to start drinking.
I was going to go to a local theater tonight that allows you to bring beer, they are playing Shuan of the Dead tonight at 10, but I'm too pissed right now. So i'll just sit here, drink, and seethe in my own anger and disappointment.

You'll never get an American stadium to sing the Banner the way those Canucks sing theirs.
Well, there's is a lot easier to sing.
We did it here in Pittsburgh. I was at this game.
they had some Sgt singing it and he motioned the crown to sing along. Totally random, and awesome.

Bruins have been the much more even keeled and consistent team this series.

But yeah, O Canada is a lot easier to sing... I had the Canadian anthem at yesterday's Blue Jays @ Royals game, and there are no low or high notes in it unless you decide to add them
I remember you mentioning that earlier this week. How'd it go?

Great pressure by the B's. We saw that kind of puck possession v. TB but no yet this series.
Tim Thomas needs to consider staying in the same zip code of the net.

I felt real sorry for the color guard- the KCMO PD were out in their dark blue dress uniforms in 95-degree heat. That just sucks. In any event, the key thing is that the Royals won- nothing gets you uninvited back like the team losing. The Royals indicated they were interested in having me back this year- always a plus
That's great - good luck.

Chris, one of the things that a lot of Canadian singers have told me is that there isn't really a clear rhythm to the Star Spangled Banner
I don't think it's particularly a Canadian thing - I don't think a lot of people know just how to sing the Star Spangled Banner. As the notes go higher, the singers tend to go SLOWER, until it bogs down in a sort of loud sentimental howling. The song's in waltz time; you can march to it if you play it fast enough, and I think that's the main problem people have - they think that "important=slow". The tune is really catchy and spirited if you play it quickly.
