3 I am so confused about what to do with Sproles.  He got very little last week whereas Jones-Drew has been steady... but it's so hard to bench Sproles and the Jags whole organization is in disarray, plus the game they're playing doesn't matter.

You watch, The Jags will play their best game of the season (not that it'll be too difficult). They do have a pretty good defense so maybe we can expect Rivers to throw a few more INTs. Jones-Drew will run rampant because he can.

Or not. Who the fuck knows?

27 Posted by: Tommy Gunnarson at December 04, 2011 01:13 PM

Yeah, that could be.  I read they're considering trading Jones-Drew at the end of the season, so I suppose that could motivate him.

But apparently last year the Chargers shut him down.

Well, I'll agonize until the evening game and flip a coin, I guess.

Also, the only cheerleader with cleavage is the brunette in the back right.  They rest look like gymnasts.

However, the brunette behind her left elbow is some kind of wonderful.

How did Michele Bachmann get in the top pic's center background?

40 This is tough crowd.  Sadly not everybody who looks like Shannon Tweed gets into cheerleading as a profession.

There is some news today, for those of you who want a little variety in the NFL thread other than cheerleader body-type critique.

First - Iran says downed US drone; threatens response 'outside our borders'.

This could be bluster, we'll have to wait and see.

Second - Communist win 20% of Russia vote, Putin suffers huge loss.

Obviously this is a mixed bag.  Furthermore while Putin's political party isn't as strong in the Duma as it was 4 years ago, it is still more than likely Putin will be the Russian President again next year (I think).

Posted by: Kratos (Ghost of Sparta) at December 04, 2011 09:27 AM (UR5vq)

I didn't have any nerves either time, since I don't need a killer score to get into the school I want to go to. My grades are good, I'm in-state, and the school isn't considered prestigious.  I'm going there to get a JD and a masters of public policy, both within 3 years.

Then I can go fuck shit up in Washingon.

Nobody in Russia proper, as far as I know of.  Demographically, Russia is in big trouble (even a skim-through of any of Mark Steyn's books will show that) and this will only be exacerbated as many talented younger Russian people leave for brighter shores.

This will be problematic in the near future.  What does a nation facing stagnation do to alleviate domestic pressure?  Why, undertake endeavors internationally, much like they did in the old Soviet Union.

That is due to the group-collective mentality that nations like Russia and a lot of Asian countries share.  It's a shame too - every Russian or Asian (from China, Japan, or Korea) that I've ever met personally has been very nice and quite personable.

181 Since my entertainment is movies...I could care less about NFL here is a list of movies at the local 30-plex and my complete disgust with Hollywood, maybe I will become an NFL fan! 1. Pokemon the Movie: CGI Cartoon 2. The Ides of March Ryan Gosling , George Clooney: Booring George Clooney liberal mouthwash political movie. 3. A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas 3D John Cho , Kal Penn: Two idiots, doing whatever their tiny minds fall into. 4. Arthur Christmas James McAvoy , Hugh Laurie PG Another Damned CGI cartoon. 5. Footloose (2011)Kenny Wormald , Julianne Hough A miserable remake of a miserable movie all about teen rebellion against 2-dimensional, never existed in all of history Christians. 6. Happy Feet Two Elijah Wood , Robin Williams Another Damned CGI cartoon voiced by a leading reprobate liberal asshole. 7. Hugo (2011)Ben Kingsley , Sacha Baron Cohen Another CGI cartoon, (because we cannot get enough of those, voiced by another reprobate in Sacha Baron Cohen. 8. Immortals (2011)Henry Cavill , Mickey Rourke An OK CGI done by the same guy that did 300. 9. In Time Olivia Wilde , Amanda Seyfried Some movie about cancer...can't wait! 10. J. Edgar Leonardo DiCaprio , Naomi Watts Hollywood's attempt to keep alive the cross-dressing, homosexual meme about the founder of the FBI. 11. Jack and Jill (2011)Adam Sandler , Katie Holmes PG What can I say it is Adam Sandler and because a tiresome worn-out one-note comic is not enough to produce belly-laughs, let us use the Hollywood genius inspiration that nothing is funnier than a man playing a woman (Sandler plays himself and his own twin sister, thus completing a Hollywood masturbation fantasy. 12. Moneyball Brad Pitt , Jonah Hill Actually not bad, but it was based on a true story so Hollywood script writers had to venture out of their own intestinal track to write this one. 13. Puss in Boots (2011)Antonio Banderas , Salma Hayek P Another CGI cartoon...must keep the kids entertained while mommy and daddy buy worthless shit they do not need in the mall stores. 14. The Muppets Jason Segel , Amy Adams Why? 15. The Smurfs 3D Hank Azaria , Jonathan Winters You can light yourself on fire during this one to end the agony. 16. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 Soft porn for young teenage girls and gay teenage boys, or just another example that Hollywood cannot think or write anything new...nothing as intriguing as Vampires and Zombies...YUM! 17. Tower Heist Ben Stiller , Eddie Murphy Really, aren't both of these comics past their sell-by date? To fill 30 screens several of the CGI flicks are in 3D, and one is in both 3D and IMAX, because what is CGI without more crap to make you think it is worth watching? Hollywood is ready for a takeover by a horde of barbarians with Polaroids that could produce better fare.

Speaking of the "History Channel", on one of the threads yesterday, Toby was flipping out about some show they were airing at the time. He was so upset about it that I turned over to see for myself.

It was one of, if not the single biggest POS I have ever seen on t.v.

I don't know what the name of it was, but they were doing a "history", a look back, at how they had arrived at present times... present times being decades into the future.

They were speaking of how Josh, the project engineer, had felt while constructing the "Great Barrier" which protected NYC from the rising waters.

Seriously. There are no words for how bad it was. We are talking Red China level propaganda here.

While I am rooting for the Pack, I have to say that the best thing for the Pats in 2007 would have been to lose one in the regular season and take some of the pressure off.  Because I fuckin' cringe thinking about that 2008 Superbowl.  I truly believed things wouldn't have gone so bad if they'd lost one earlier.  But, hey, maybe the Pack can pull it off, I'd love to see it.

HA!  We were so poor, even our tin foil hats were made of paper.

I love that, Tami!  We never washed ours, but it was definitely treated like the cool, special thing that it was.  And it was.

I have cats now, I couldn't deploy it anyway, it's a total cat-killer.  No tinsel at all when I get a tree.

405 So, since Del Rio is already gone what other coaches do you think need to go?  Personally I think Coughlin Reid and Turner should all be fired.

I'm in Jax and would love to have Coughlin back. The dude took them to a Super Bowl just, what, three years ago? And now he's on the chopping block?

Puhleeze.

Heh, I was down with my dad last weekend when the Chargers lost (yet again) and the main topic of conversation in SD was "fire Norv Turner."  I googled that very phrase and got about a million hits, including websites created just to express that sentiment.  The local talking heads were pretty cruel, too, and not just the sports-monkeys.  Pretty funny, because the major sports-fans I know blame the GM, far more than Norv.

Yeah, but its the GM in San Diego that has the power I believe and he is that one that did hire Norv.  I can see them both getting the axe but don't expect it.

I had him for a few weeks and he rode the bench because I had MacFadden, Steve Smith and Ryan Matthews.

I wish I had him back now.

They should promote Josh McDaniels.  He's like a genius or something.

427 I did some research just to make certain we were not using a bad sample of cheerleaders - we are not using a bad sample. The cheerleaders are called "ben-gals" though I think that is a typo because "been-gals", more likely been-men is more appropriate. I wonder if there is some index correlating the economic prospects of a market and cheerleader attractiveness?

Theresa, do you smell a new coach for the Cowboys? Don't think JJ is going to like that one too much.

Posted by: irongrampa at December 04, 2011 03:57 PM (SAMxH)

439 I think one of the problems Dallas has is Jerry Jones. He is the owner, CEO, President, GM and part time coach. May be too big of a job even for JJ.

Posted by: Ronster at December 04, 2011 04:02 PM (/c/ec)

440 Could be, Irongrampa.  I can only imagine how mad JJ was, cuz I was pretty worked up about that.

I'm not much on assigning teams losing to their coaches, though, although I think Philly fans may have a good argument to dump Andy Reid.  By the time players are pro they've played enough football to know how the game is played, IMO.

451 | Used to watch the Boston Pats practice at UMass stadium during the summers, in | the 60s.  Love them unconditionally.

I watched them when they were homeless and forced to play at Boston College's Alumni Field.  This was before B.C. was into big time football.   Rumor has it that they sometimes were so disorganized that they would make up plays in the dirt during a huddle.

The stands were wooden and caught on fire during a pre-season game.   Then they played a few homegames in Birmingham, Alabama before playing in Harvard Stadium.   The Minnesota Vikings (who had been in the Super Bowl the previous year) showed up and couldn't believe it.   A snow storm came through the night before and fans had to dig their way to their seats.  The Patriots were out of the game by half time, and the fans got drunk and started pelting the Vikings with snowballs.   Bud Grant was pissed.

Good times.
