Sunday Show Video Bites
— Gabriel Malor

Just happened to spot these two videos on Twitter.

In the first, not even David Gregory is buying DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz's latest pants-on-fire claim that the Democrats and President Obama have "turned this economy around." Gregory scoffs.

In the second, T-Paw coins a new term, "ObamneyCare", that we'll be seeing again, I'm sure, at tomorrow's debate. I still can't believe Romney is standing by the Massachusetts healthcare system.

Both videos are below the fold.

2 Dude, did I just see Howard Kurtz run tape of Jeff Jarvis saying there was no news here, no story, implicitly making fun of him? Did Kurtz admit his own laughable reaction earlier in the show? Or is he pretending that didn't happen?

Posted by: ace at June 12, 2011 07:39 AM (nj1bB)

3 #2 is a killer. If ObamneyCare gets elected, you can bet there is a 0pct chance of repeal. He is all about running the welfare state more efficiently, rather than eliminating it.

4 Obamneycare ain't bad but I like ORomnacare better.

5 Obama and the Dims did turn the economy around. Since 2006, when they took over Congress, it's been destroyed and is now falling into a bottomless pit.

6 Mitt Romney explains his decision to create Romneycare, and his ongoing support for Romneycare: "You're welcome" No thanks!

7 First it was the Dorothy Hamill wedge cut. Then the Farah Fawcett hair. Fast forward to the Jennifer Anniston look....

...will the Debbie Do be the next big thing??

Debbie Was-a-Man Schultz seriously needs to send in a video to Extreme Makeover.

Posted by: beedubya at June 12, 2011 07:47 AM (AnTyA)

8 That's the strategy that I've believed would get Pawlenty some traction for a while.  The more times he can mention that he was a governor in a blue state too, but managed to hold his ground, the more he's going to get voters attention.

9 shouldn't it be "sunday show videos bite"?

Eleanor Clift is a horrible, horrible woman.  Does anyone even watch the Sunday shows anymore?  It was over for me after Russert died.  Can't watch them.

11 What DWS means by turn around, is that she and Obamatastic have put a brick on the accelerator and have turned around in their seats, so they don't have to see the fast approaching cliff, so technically, she is right. I wonder if they are drinking Slurpees?

Posted by: The Great and Secret Show at June 12, 2011 07:55 AM (hyDaS)

12 DWS has never strayed from a talking point in her life, and she's not about to start now.

I give her my fair share of hell but it's all the hair. I saw a pic of her the other day with it straightened and she looked pretty good. Well for her anyway.

Because she is not smart enough, just like her boy JEF.  Expecting either of them to turn a phrase without it being scripted is pretty unrealistic.

Posted by: Truck Monkey at June 12, 2011 07:58 AM (yQWNf)

15 I think Romney's strategy is to run left, knowing that we on the right won't have any choice but to vote for him over JEF.

It's sort of like that mirror image Star Trek episode, except that both Spocks have beards.

16 Howie Kurtz, talking about how FOX mistakenly put up a picture of Tina Fey instead of Plain said he chalks that up to the Saturday Night Live generation.

Hey dumb fuck..SNL's been on for about 35 years now.

18 NOW.

The head of the Brooklyn/Queens chapter of the National Organization for Women said she could separate WeinerÂ’s sexcapades from the liberal track record that earned the groupÂ’s support.

“I wasn’t happy to discover that my congressman is a 14-year-old boy,” said Julie Kirshner, president of the NOW chapter.

“But he happens to be one of the best politicians out there, so we’re in a bad position. We’re trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.”

Eh, good stuff. I mean what more can you even say about these women?

Turned the economy from bad to worse. Turned the economy into a machine that funnels tax payer money into democrat coffers and wastes the rest.

Good going, corruptocrats. I hope the stupids won't notice.

20 I mean what more can you even say about these women [in NOW]?

Wanna see a pic I just took?

Posted by: Anthony Weiner at June 12, 2011 08:15 AM (oTX1B)

21 Has a President ever won re-election on a "it could be worse" platform? Doesn't ring any bells for me. Maybe FDR in 1936.

Problem is that when the reality you are trying to say could be worse is already the worst most adults have experienced in their lifetime, it's nearly impossible to convince them that it's not actually your fault. But, that seems to be all the Dems have at this point, other than admitting they were wrong, which they wouldn't do even if you waterboarded the entire lot of them.

22 President Charlie Gordon peaked when he took down Usama with his mind.

It's all downhill from here.

Posted by: Fritz at June 12, 2011 08:16 AM (p2IBw)

23 Fritz: when word got out that "his mind" more likely meant "Leon Panetta's insubordination and loss of patience"... the "bounce" settled down faster than Helen Thomas's boobs when she gets off of Ron Paul's lap.

24 I've largely been impressed with Reince Priebus' statements as head of the RNC and he was excellent opposite Wasserman-Shultz on Meet The Press.

25 Let's see here: Obama Care, Romney Care, Obamney Care. Man, that's gonna leave a mark.

I only hope others pick it up and use it at every opportunity.

26 The only criticism I have regarding Pawlenty's "ObamneyCare" line is that none of us Morons came up with it first.

Posted by: the GOP at June 12, 2011 12:10 PM (oTX1B) I don't think Mittens will get the GOP nomination, but if he does, the DNC will run at least one ad which uses the line, "Mitt Romney signed into law a bill which forced everyday working class people to pay for health insurance out of their own pockets or face fines or jail time."

I realize that he hasn't yet announced and he's busy with the Texas legislature right now, but with all the talk about Perry being likely to run I'm surprised that there hasn't been more specific discussion about him on the news shows.  Maybe I simply missed it.

For all the hype (at least on the Internet), I still know almost nothing about the guy other than a bit about his bio.

Last week Jeff Jarvis said we need to be more like Germany because the Germans sit on park benches in the nude.

Nah; they've already suggested that Obamacare was modeled after Romneycare.  They're not going to knock the mandate that they already passed and supported with Obamacare.

Instead they'll charge him with hypocrisy for any criticism about Obamacare.  There will also be a lot of special reports about Mormonism.  Yeah, they'll go there.
