Thank You So Much For the Donations

I have to thank the cobloggers for putting up the donation post in the first place.

But thanks even more to the readers who donated. Ads really don't pay a great deal of money. You can probably get a sense of that by how many very-small concerns advertise here. Those various Google ads are not placed by, say, Ford Motors or Motorola.

Honestly, donations are what keeps me above the poverty line.

Thank you so much for your support -- or, where we disagree, at least your indulgence. I know I can be a dick.

Moving beyond the ethical to the practical, when these episodes happen, you stay readable and interesting the whole time. That's the key skill. If it turns into soap opera at times, and one is compelled to keep reading the whole thing, is that really a problem for a vocation that depends on people reading you? Personally, I'm happy to follow the whole thing. I just back off on commenting when things are volatile.
