— Open Blogger I know, I've already posted today, but this was too spot-on not to post here.
A fair number of my Facebook friends are dyed-in-the-wool liberals, and I've heard -- explicitly or implicitly -- just about every idea here. ..fritz..

The liberals mindset:
Jan. 25 (Bloomberg) -- Parts of the Dodd-Frank financial services overhaul face a “potential undoing” by Republican proposals to cut spending, senior House Democrats said.
Representative Barney Frank, the top Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee, said today that the Securities and Exchange Commission and Commodity Futures Trading Commission are underfunded already as they work on implementing the derivatives rules required in the financial services law.
Frank, of Massachusetts, appeared at a news conference with fellow Democrats Carolyn Maloney of New York and Maxine Waters of California. Frank said he hoped Republicans, specifically the insurgent Tea Party, would support the idea of increased funding for the regulators.
“I had thought even among people in the Tea Party that credit default swaps were not that popular,” Frank said.

My very-Lib brother (swears up and down it has NEVER been global warming, ONLY climate change; BO is a centrist/right-leaning President) calls me up SO upset because his even MORE MOON BATTERY mother-in-law refused to babysit their kid, while they went to sign up his wife for nursing school, because:
A. The SOTU was on, and it was "more important to her future than nursing school"
B. Women should stay home
C. Nurses are part of the problem. "Some aren't in a UNION!"
What f*cking world did I wake up in. Sometimes I swear I woke up in a 'FRINGE' episode and I'm in the alternate universe

I just read that the president is proposing a "budget freeze" so how can you freeze a budget if there isn't one to freeze?
The prezident submits a budget to congress, which of course, is typically promptly ignored. The administration has been free to submit a "freeze" budget for a couple of years now.

Okay, that would be teh Awesome!
Cue Rep Ryan's Response:
"With all due respect to the President, there was no budget passed for 2010, and we still do not have one for 2011. With that in mind, a budget Freeze would be a bit harsh. Republicans wish only to move spending back to 2006 levels; the President's plan would deny all funding to the government."

"Starting in 2011, we are prepared to freeze government spending for three years. (Applause.) Spending related to our national security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security will not be affected. But all other discretionary government programs will. Like any cash-strapped family, we will work within a budget to invest in what we need and sacrifice what we don't. And if I have to enforce this discipline by veto, I will. (Applause.) "

I'd heard about it. Translated: "I see the writing on the wall and probably won't be re-elected. But if I can trash the Tea Party on my way out the door, there stands a chance- at this moment- that I'll get enough sympathy to get re-elected later."
Actually reading the Article, they're upset because they were "targeted" by the Tea Party as being part of McCain's crowd- and they want to get rid of McCain's crowd.
The other thing is that this happened on the 12th which (IIRC) was before the "Laughner was just crazy" meme picked up. That is, before the Left realized that "Those Violent Tea-baggers!" wasn't going to work. So this is one more (probably) RINO hack who decided to smear hard working American citizens as a salve for his wounded pride.

If she had those stupid rectangular black "I'm so smart" glasses on, the uniform would be complete.
Michael Frickin' Moore wears those things and it just looks ridiculous.
Plus, I think that fat bastard had nose surgury. I always remember him as being a fat guy with a fat nose.
But a year or two ago, that guy suddenly seemed to have a think, hawk shaped nose right smack in the middle of that face of his.
It's like he figured rather than lose the 250 lbs necessary to bring his weight down to normal levels, he'd just have liposuction done on his nose.
Am I the only one thinking this? Or do I need to get my prescriptions checked again...
Janeane Garofolo wears the same damn glasses too.

I don't understand why the first lady hasn't targeted him for weight loss as an example for the kids. It would be perfect, the WH would supervise his weight loss and he would be showing the kids how hard it is to lose the weight so don't put it on. But of course, he's a lib, so she would leave him alone.

Here's a related thought - I saw The Green Hornet on the weekend. The plot pushed journalism as the last bastion of freedom against crooked politicians. I could not help but ask, "is Brit Reid a conservative?" It was like they were admitting that the "journalists" cover for pols all the time, since The Daily Sentinel was considered the last "true" paper. It's interesting that Hollywood still clings to this image of journalists as the heroes of our time, when most are the lapdogs of the liberal side with absolutely no intention of reporting the truth.

A tad on the annoying side, but it gets it across perfectly about what most "journalists" are really like and what they are all about.
One day several years ago in late summer a few weeks before college started up again, I was hanging around at a bar with a group of friends. One of them was a typical lefty girl who had just finished up at a community college and was transferring into the state university I went to. Someone asked her what she was going to major in, and she replied that she couldn't decide. She couldn't make up her mind about being either a journalist or a social worker. Being the typical smartass that I was ( and still am..), I replied that she should just set a goal of working as a journalist for the Socialist Worker. My comment didn't go over well with her, and she went off pontificating about how she could make a difference as a journalist or social worker, and compared to whatever I was going to do, at least she would change the world for the better. (Lefties always change things for the better, don't you know. They never F anything up, and if they do, it's always because they didn't go left enough, or some conservative sabotaged the effort. Just ask them, they'll tell you all about it.....)

A) The synthesized voices were awful and had no emotion. There was just no connection.
B) Spread over years and different people, I've had that conversation, so it's depressing more than it is funny to think of how many people live in that world.
I would have laughed if real voice actors had done it instead of bad fake voices. Lesson from Machinima - use real voices.
