The Rod Serling Economy [ArthurK]
— Open Blogger

Here's President Obama talking the Economy with Brian Williams.

Obama: Well, look, we anticipated that the recovery was slowing. The economy is still growing, but it’s not growing as fast as it needs to. I’ve got things right now in - before Congress that we should move immediately, and I’ve said so before I went on vacation and I’ll keep on saying it when I - now that I’m back. We should be passing legislation that helps small businesses get credit, that eliminates capital gains taxes so that they have more incentive to invest right now. There are a whole host of measures that we could take, no single element of which is a magic bullet, but cumulatively could start continuing to build momentum for the recovery.

So what happened in March 2010 that trumped all that horseshit?

There's a clue to all this.

5 That was a nice gotcha. I think this captures very well the running-in-place sensation of living through the Obama presidency. They keep trying the same stuff (like whatever new stimulus or infrastructure or tax credit scheme Obama's going to dust off in his next speech) and being surprised that they aren't getting different results.

I thought fucktard told another interviewer that he wouldn't lower cap gains rates even though doing so would generate more revenue.

Does the fucking media have a recording machine thingamajiggy so they can play back his contradictions to him?

Apparently that machine only works for Republicans being interviewed.

11 President ObamaÂ’s much-anticipated jobs speech will undoubtedly cover more of the same things that already havenÂ’t worked. He will propose an infrastructure bank, extension of unemployment and food stamps, promotion of green jobs, more government-corporate partnerships, and a one-year extension of the payroll tax reduction. HeÂ’ll advocate a second stimulus. He may be flanked by his jobs commission, headed by the CEO of General Electric, which earlier issued a lame interim jobs report. His speech will not be about jobs. Instead, it will be a campaign speech in disguise.

12 If only Obama'd think of the aliens, we'd be in post-WWII ascension.

14 Good lord.  I'm watching Greta and they've got a dizzy blond promoting Obama's next pseudo-economist as the next coming.  I weep for the countries future.

No longer does it seem that actual logic and intelligence are required for either high paying tv journalists, or <gasp> a Presidents economic advisor.

I've seen this idiot debating various people on fox before, and to think he's Obama's econ advisor frightens me beyond belief.  Krugman looks like a genius next to him

Posted by: Billy Barty at August 29, 2011 06:16 PM (Tv6z3)

15 Now that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, no longer under the outstanding leadership of Franklin Raines, aren't there to be a Democratic Party piggie-bank, along comes the idea of an infrastructure bank. It would simply be a political slush fund and encourage wasteful spending by Democratic political cronies.

16 Wow. O'Clusterfucks inactivity on the economy seems almost..........intentional.

18 It would be wrong to feel good that the economy has been and is doing poorly. Some people might feel that way because a bad economy hurts Obama's chances to get re-elected. Not me. HOWEVER, I don't have to worry about it. Pres. Obama is hard-core committed to his economic ideology therefore the economy will never do well under those policies because Socialism Doesn't Work. Carter-like stagflation is the best case scenario.

Okay, the broad a few thread down having a hissy fit about having to pay for stuff?  She should move to one of the wonderful countries where other people pay for your stuff and you have riots in the streets and burn your neighbor's house down when your rich uncle the government runs out of other peoples' money.

Stupid people make me cranky.

Witness if you will, a bumbling douchebag of a President, with unimaginable vacuousness and shuddering levels of fear and pussiness.

If you thought it was bad before, it is going to get much worse.

Here. In the Twilight Zone.

Has Obama passed legislation to create a tv show called the Twilight Zone yet?

Dipwad president is going to open his filthy piehole and billions in 401ks are going to turn to shit.

It would have been far less economically disruptive to take that trillion in stimulous money, make a big pile and set a match to it.
