— Ace A video about a talented goldsmith and jeweler specializing in bespoke jewelry.
What's bespoke? I got this; I just looked it up last week. It means "spoken for" as in "per a specific client's request." Bespoke clothing is tailor-made per client request, as opposed to off-the-rack clothes.
As you will see in the video, she has no hands.
She says people wonder how she can make jewelry without fingers. She says she doesn't understand how people can make jewelry with fingers -- "They must get in the way," she says.

If you've never had something, you really don't know that you are missing it.
Like a blind person or a deaf person - if you've never been able to see anything or hear anything, you can't even begin to conceptualize what that "sense" is.
I look at my daughter with Down syndrome and see so much that I think she is "missing"; the reality is that she doesn't miss ANY of that stuff, because she has no need for it.
I envy her that sometimes - her life is so much better in many ways than mine is, simply because she doesn't worry about things that in the long run really are stupid things to worry about.

My favorite line: "Russell Wilson's greatest trick was convincing the world he doesn't exist."
Heh. His 122 QB rating for the game says "Oh, heck yes!"
Prediction for next year: Seattle goes 18-1, and beats the Patriots in the Super Bowl, 34 - 17. Lone loss to SF in SF, 20 - 16.

He would catch the ball with the glove on his left (good) hand. Then he would toss the ball from his glove a few inches into the air; place his glove on the stump of his right hand; with his left hand grab the ball out of the air; then wind and throw; then slip his left hand into the glove to catch the ball as it came back to him.
It sounds complicated and clumsy, but he did it absolutely fluidly, so, try as I might, I simply could not see the glove moving onto and off of his left hand. The grace of his movement was amazing.
There's a story about Abbott, when he pitched against Cuba in the Olympics. The first four Cuban batters bunted against him. He threw all four out. After that, no more bunting. After the game, he was asked about it, and he replied, "Other teams have bunted against me." No doubt, with a smile.

Yes, it's expensive and takes time (six weeks from Hong Kong is about my average), but the fit, quality and longevity (custom shirts last for *years* longer than anything you get off the rack) is totally worth the premium in price. Granted, it's not worth getting them if you're on a "buy my suits at Target" budget," but it's definitely worth getting them if you're cross-shopping the likes of Banana Republic/J. Crew/Macy's etc.
(Oh, and bespoke suits are even better: for a few extra hundred bucks you don't look like a car salesman wearing your dead uncle's suit. The only downside to them is that I can't afford any more).
Plus, it's impossible to get bespoke and not feel a bit like James Bond. Like all (straight) men I hate shopping for clothes, but I must admit that being able to pick out British and Italian fabrics while tossing back a complimentary glass of scotch makes you feel like a boss.
