— Ace Via Hot Air, he trotted out this line of criticism on Fox & Friends.
He didn't use the c-word I prefer but he's in the ballpark, at least. I think "coward" is a lot more serious and therefore effective a criticism than "chicken," which is boyish in origin and in effect.
But maybe he's preparing the ground for the real c-word.
The only thing is -- I didn't think of this when I suggested the coward attack -- is that the person leveling the charge has to show Obama up by demonstrating what courage consists of in this context. That is, make the case for fiscally imperative but politically perilous entitlement reform. I more imagined someone not running for president would make this charge, like Tom Coburn.
I'm not sure if Tim Pawlenty is the guy to do it, not because I think he's a wimp or anything, but because, as he's running for president, he's likely to not show a great deal of courage on this issue, either. He names the problem, yes, but doesn't say what the required solution is.
I don't know if he can do that and maintain any hope of winning.
I hope others, like Tom Coburn, pick up on the idea and push it harder.

Also a 10-letter c-word which is definitely accurate, and in more ways than one if the Hillbuzz types are to be believed.

"I don't know if he can do that and maintain any hope of winning."
The charge of cowardice is only effective when it's made by someone obviously willing to take the risk his opponent won't take.
As for Pawlenty's (or anyone's) hopes of winning: Fortune favors the bold, and in general, so do American voters.

I don't think Obama wants to cut any entitlement spending or solve any entitlement deficits with any real reform. He wants to add entitlements, not do away with them. Any talk of such is a lie on his part.
He and the dems want more Obamacare type government intrusions into our lives. Obama isnÂ’t a coward, heÂ’s a liar.

With a $1.5T deficit Obama is talking about giving *more* money to his friends. And the those dangerous, anarchistic Republicans are proposing a "dire" cut of $100B.
Hell, Rand Paul is considered beyond the pale for cutting a mere third of the deficit in spending.
This is by any measure cowardice...on the Republicans...and treason on the part of the Democrats.
If your house is on fire, do you throw more gasoline on it? One bucket of water? Or break out the firehouse and do what needs to be done?

Anyway - the democrat's only answer to budget deficits, crippling debt, and crippling additional government control over our lives is.. wait for it...
....TAX INCREASES. 40% ye'all.
/I don't make anywhere near 200K - but I do understand that when that income tax kicks back to near 40% in 2 years - private industry and small businesses will be crushed under its weight. The dems really believe that they are better stewards of OUR money.

His Tea Party credibility took a beating when he didn't defend Palin with sufficient vigor during the Tucson aftermath, and so now he's got to get out in front with some manly-man dick-wagging.
Not, that he's wrong. Barry O *is* a chickshit coward, it's just that both the timing and the messenger's motives are suspect.

One thing the Repubs could use to attack the O... is that every time somthing happens, they have to "study" it before making a decision. Some Panel is brought in to give Bambi cover.
Uh... don't we already HAVE Paid Professionals who are constantly supposed to be studying this stuff?
Like... MONTHS to reinforce Afganistan... TWO "reviews" later... when you HAVE an entire staff that should be up to the minute on what happening there.
Or MONTHS to decide on "safe" drilling techniques... and STILL they are dragging their heals on any new drilling...
Now DAYS when our citizens were in danger in Egypt.... and we are finally doing somthing to get them out, DAYS after other coutries have already taken action...
This is NOT the guy you want in charge during a Crises... and Repubs should point out his record...

I think it's about time for Republicans stop being PC and worrying about hurting someone's feelings. This is getting ridiculous and the TRUTH needs to come out. All you have to do is play their words back at them to show what absolute hypocritical HACKS they are.
It's not a question of being too PC, it's a matter of avoiding attacks that would turn off the independents as being too aggressively personal.
As much as it might meet with approval by the Republican base to hear a candidate call Obama a "incompetant Marxist coward and liar", that sort of thing just doesn't play with the electorate at large.

And you're going to tell me that the Republican nominee was actually the bolder of the two? His claim to boldness was based on an earlier episode in his life when he was, in fact, bold and courageous, but it didn't escape the voters' notice that his Senate career was anything but an epic tale of boldness. It's telling that the boldest thing he did in his entire campaign was nominate Sarah Palin.
