A batch of Republican governors are weighing a challenge to the president in 2012. So why are they sounding so much like him these days?... they wound up sounding less like bloodthirsty Republican warriors than (believe it or not) the Democrat they might be running against: President Barack Obama. The echoes werenÂ’t intentional, nor were they particularly overt. But they were striking enough to raise the question of whether the GOP will still have enough gas in its tank to beat Obama by the time November 2012 actually rolls around.

The media provokes Sarah Palin to get her to speak to them and then parses everything she says to make her look ridiculous. They use her for ratings and hits on both sides.
If Palin avoids the media, they'll use her past statements against her and suggest that she is avoiding them because she has something to hide.
If she speaks to the media, they'll use anything to make her appear to be foolish, uninformed, hostile, evil, whatever...

President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama will be in Tucson Wednesday to attend the "Together We Thrive: Tucson and America" event at the McKale Memorial Center on the University of Arizona campus. The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. MST (8 p.m. EST) with doors opening at 4 p.m. MST (6 p.m. EST).
According to a university news release, organizers are expecting thousands of people to attend. If the 14,000-seat arena reaches capacity, overflow seating will be available at the university's football stadium. Video of the memorial will be shown on the scoreboard's big screen.

It's hard to even keep it together it's so distorted.
A national tragedy happened. We lost little Christina Green (wow, born on 911 with Christ in her name and it hits the heart so hard!) and Dorwin Stoddard! What a man! Judge John Roll, too. Phyllis, Dorothy and Gabe Zimmerman. Lost them all and all we got in return was liberal invective.

Is this the result of the internet boom? We have the ability to fight back, so the media steps up their attacks in hopes of drowning out the inconvenient facts. G-d help us in the near future. It is a long fight ahead of us to keep our rights in the face of a culture that uses the actions of a single psychotic person to squash basic freedoms as outlined in our constitution.

OK. This whole thing has now reached sub-stupid.
Being hooked to the left in the U.S. is analogous to being married to a bitch that just leased her 4th mini-storage unit so she could store the 6 extra couches and 7 extra bedroom sets she bought this year (she bought them for me, don't-cha-know) -- with my credit card -- and somehow I can't cancel the goddamn card. God knows what's in the other storage units, and I really no longer even want to know.
On top of that, she went to court and got my children emancipated so she could sign their names onto the legal documents requiring repayment for the shit she bought that no one actually needs.
Is that it? Hell no, she also broke the locks on my doors and invited in 11 million people that I don't know cuz she thinks they will like her more than me forever.
It gets better -- she also opposes all the ways I have of actually earning any money. I used to log, mine, drill, farm, build, manufacture, hunt, and fish – but, she keeps sticking her fucking nose into everything and gets in the way so much that I can't compete in the marketplace anymore. In short, she runs up huge bills and prevents me from generating any actual wealth to pay those bills.
If that didn't suck bad enough already -- NOW, because one of her crazy fucking cousins did something truly crazy and stupid – she thinks I should no longer be allowed to say anything about any of these problems – and get this -- because she has other crazy fucking cousins and we can only guess at how stupidly they could behave.
Since I have a conscience, I couldnÂ’t live with myself if I just killed the bitch. I really, really, really, really, want a divorce. But the 1860Â’s proved that this is just one country, and divorce is not a realistic possibility. Fuck! Well, somehow I have to find a way to pierce the void with this stupid bitch before it is too late.
So, OK you sub-stupid leftist motherfuckers, let me spell it out for you --
If you are offended by MY WORDS about your actions – remember that I am twice as offended by YOUR ACTIONS. My words can’t destroy you, but your actions are sure as hell destroying us all.
If you succeed in preventing me from communicating my dissatisfaction about your behavior using words, I will find some other form of communication -- because there is no way I am just going to sit idly by and watch your addictive spending habits take me and my kids all the way down.

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us as a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

If you allow the stories and lives of the victims to be told, they take a shape and have a form. Without any context, they can be whatever you want them to be.
This is Obama's skill, and he used it in the election. He had done little and what he had done was obscured. He became an empty vessel for people to put their own hopes, goals, and dreams into his candidacy. The media helped beautifully, shooting down any attempt to give him a history or narrative besides the one he constructed for himself. Most of what he constructed was emotional and fragmented. It allowed people to see whatever they wanted.
The victims are just more empty shells for a message to animate. The message will be of bipartisanship, change (again), and the good feelings that are supposed to precede his re-election.

That's the sad part. This has nothing whatsoever to do with the victims. It's all leftist pageantry. It's got nothing to do with the sacred and the solemn, or the little girl or her parents. It's political staging.

Wait, Gifford's not dead? Then who's this show for? Somebody died? What?
Seriously, it's an important point: The only bloody shirt being waved is Gifford's. And it's being waved in front of the dead, so you won't see them. Because they, being ill-suited to slapping you (and/or Palin) around with, don't count.
Their story—and it is theirs, more even than Gifford's—is being suppressed, willfully (if not entirely consciously), in service of the Cause.
It's the most blatant tell.

It typically refers to an accusation of ritual murder by Jews to obtain non-Jewish blood for occult purposes. But "blood libel" has long been used more generally to denote a particularly heinous false accusation. Even in the more limited sense, it is not the exclusive property of the Jews. There was a blood libel by the Romans against the early Christians. And a blood libel against the Montanist sect by the early Christian Church.

Socks are meant to amuse, not irritate.
But I'll tell you what really irritates me: All of those "Jewish" organizations spouting off about how awful it is that Palin used "blood libel" to describe the way the left is behaving. I'm Jewish, and they sure as shit don't speak for me. Sarah Palin meant no offense, so this Jew isn't taking offense.
Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo (NJConservative) at January 12, 2011 02:44 PM (LH6ir)
Call me paranoid, but please consider this:
I wonder if the left is targeting Palin so much lately in order to provoke a response from us to rally around Sarah to the extent that she gets nominated as the candidate to run against Obama in 2012. Don't get me wrong, I think the world of Sarah, but she doesn't poll well against Obama right now. I think the lefty media sees that, and in true Alinsky fashion, are focusing on Sarah for attack.
Personally, I think Sarah would rock as President and could kick Obumblef*ck's ass in competence. But looking at it in the cold world of numbers, it doens't add up for her. Yet.
All I'm saying is we should try to see if there's a method to the madness of the left. Because to any thinking person, the attacks on Palin are unbelievably ridiculous. So much so, in fact, that I haven't been able to even speak to any of my lefty friends and am considering why I think they are friends in the first place. It's starting to bother me that bad.

No. 'Blood libel' is one of millions of terms that only we or liberals can use correctly. Any attempt by others to use this phrase will be met with derision and an immediate press release barrage from left-leaning organizations we have on speed-dial.

I wonder if the left is targeting Palin so much lately in order to provoke a response from us to rally around Sarah to the extent that she gets nominated as the candidate to run against Obama in 2012.
Marmo, you're overthinking this.
Are we not supposed to rally around a woman falsly accused?

Yes there is some of that...but what the media is really telling us, is that Palin is getting to the heart of what they stand for, exposing it, and destroying it. [Remember: You don't get Flack unless your over the Target] Also, if they keep this up on her it will surely backfire.
Americans always vote for the Under-Dog. How do think Obama won? He was the underdog to the unawakened masses. The media is going to turn every female voter in Palin's favor eventually, and the Republicana are playing their own Salinsky game as well.
Sarah is running cover for the party right now, so that the real candidate gets a free ride till late in the game, so that the media can't do what they do best...propogandize and personally attack!
If Sarah runs this time, it will be to pick up the V.P. spot, not for the full on Executive position.

Oh, hell yes we should rally around Palin. I'm just thinking back to the Nevada elections when Reid said he was glad that Angle was the candidate the TEA party chose to run against him. I have to wonder now if he somehow really manipulated that to happen as claimed. I supported Angle, but then, I would have supported anyone against "The war is lost" Reid.
My only point was that we need to try to look at all the angles, because these attacks on Palin right now are so absurd.

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) turned down an offer by President Barack Obama to travel on Air Force One to Arizona for a memorial service on behalf of the victims of SaturdayÂ’s shooting, a decision that has upset some Democrats.
Boehner is instead scheduled to attend a reception on Wednesday night on behalf of Maria Cino, a former top House GOP aide who is seeking the Republican National Committee chairmanship. Boehner is backing CinoÂ’s challenge to current RNC Chairman Michael Steele.Posted by: momma at January 12, 2011 03:00 PM (penCf)

So much so, in fact, that I haven't been able to even speak to any of my lefty friends and am considering why I think they are friends in the first place. It's starting to bother me that bad.

Me, too, Marmo. I think it has something to do with we wouldn't ridicule someone another person likes in front of that person's face. And we wouldn't ridicule another person's beliefs in front of that person.
But these lefty "friends" think nothing of it. I don't know why.
Fact is, I don't really think of them as friends like I used to. And I see no reason why I should.

The Left, after 40 years of slowly creeeping up on the American people thought they had the chance to institute their Collectivist Utopia...the problem was they had to lie, cheat, and steal to get the power to do it......they scared the American people, and now they are starting to realize that not only is it not going to happend, but that they are not going to get enough power again for the next Twenty years to pick up where they left off....so they are getting desperate.
They are like childern when slapping their hand away from the Cookie Jar!

Obama's career has been based on creating a narrative out of tragedy to use guilt in advancing his political goals.
He used the United States legacy of race relations to paint himself as an exemplary model of the American Dream to allow voters to place their own dreams and hopes on him. Any evidence to the contrary was brushed aside as conspiratorial.
He'll use these deaths to advance a narrative on rhetoric that elevates his actions as reasonable and others' actions as incidenary. He is the climax of the event. Not the victims, not the Congresswoman, him. Again, he uses guilt and hopefulness to make himself a symbol of what is 'right' about politics.

They want everyone to put on those blue (not red, you notice) t-shirts. They have the arena camera/Jumbotron operating. They have a logo for this, on the buses and on the t-shhirts.
Given all of this, decorum will not be observed. The atmosphere is that of a rock concert or basketball game. There is no priest or minister or rabbi.
