Good Morning Morons its Veteran’s Day and 11/11/11. Before we get into today’s “news” I would like to discuss a couple of items from the ONT thread that should be hot topics. Normally that thread is dead after the news comes out but I thought these were worthwhile for the dayshift crowd.

First the things you canÂ’t say about Afghanistan.

Pakistan is now an enemy of the United States.

Pakistan has been our “notional” enemy since before we went in there. That is why warcock Cheney had to threaten them with annihilation if they tried to prevent us from going in after the Taliban and Al Queda. Hell, they virtually created the damn Taliban to begin with.

We don't know why we are here, what we are fighting for, or how to know if we are winning.

We went in there originally to get rid of Al Queda. That operation was nominally successful in a few months except we didnÂ’t get the head goat molester. We probably should have left then.  Nation building in the Middle East is a worthless exercise in futility.  On top of that after Bush left, it was evident from the words and deeds of lying asshole Obama that that wasnÂ’t the war he intended on fighting and he had no intention of accomplishing any mission other than propaganda for Obama. He was killing our troops to satisfy personal political goals. We should have been demanding instant withdrawal. Not one American soldier should die to protect the ass of this communist bastard who more deserves to be in jail than in the WH.

Why canÂ’t Republicans Nominate a Right Wing Nut?

That entire article sucks balls and is nothing more than a lickspittle Romney push. The better question is why do we keep nominating RINO cross-the-aisle accommodators who lose unless the Dems nominate one even worse?

The Dems nominated one of the worst left wing communist ideologues of the century and won last time. Why? Because we nominated a POS that the base hated on top of the entire party being dispirited by the 8 years of RINO aisle crossing that had already been gone through. We do NOT need 2008 over again. That on top of the fact that if we donÂ’t find a GD hill to die on soon the country is going over the cliff with nothing but our dicks in or hands and we are going to dies in the streets instead.  We are not immune to becoming Greece.

Now on to news.

 As I said yesterday, this new study of the pipeline route was not avoiding a decision. It was a decision to halt it.

 They want a new route around Nebraska along with a new environmental impact study of the route. Supposedly this is because the “Ogala aquifer in beneath Nebraska. If I am not mistaken, we have some kind of “aquifer” beneath every State in the union.  Once a new route is set and the study is done in 2012 or later (some folks are saying 2013), the court battles will begin in their standard linear function from the eco-tards. Of course by then, if we havenÂ’t nominated Romney, Obama will be back in Chicago cheating them again and maybe we can get something done. If Obama is still in office it will not matter anyway.  Our chief concern will not be energy. It will be avoiding the “long pig” syndrome.

Senate Democrats kill the Net Neutrality halt bill from the House, as expected.

The “ironic” thing about this is that back a few years ago a similar bill was passed by both houses. So what is different now? It has become an election topic for Obama. I guess we depend on the courts once again to stop this unconstitutional power grab.  They have stopped it once before but that doesnÂ’t seem to bother this corrupt administration. They simply ignore the courts and march on.

This FCC rule allows the government to dictate what material will be carried and the rates that can be charged by the private owners of the net. It has NOTHING to do with “neutrality”. It is designed to first to allow cronies and heavy contributors who are bandwidth hogs to flood the net with material w/o having to pay for the system upgrades needed to carry the material. As a secondary impact it gives the government its camel nose into the internet that they have been seeking for years. And to top it off, they are doing it without ANY supporting regulation. This is not broadcast in the air and the FCC has zero mandate.

In the days long ago when we operated under the Constitution (mostly) you didnÂ’t need regulation to tell the government what it couldnÂ’t do, it was the opposite.

The internet has become our “Reardon Metal”.

The Ogalala aquifer, Vic, is a closed system. That is, it is fossil water no longer being replenished by any real volume of new water. It was filled at the close of the Pleistocene from meltwater coming from the front range. This water is what opened up the great plains to farming. The wells are all  deep. This aquifer cannot be easily contaminated from the surface.

I read a book called "Nor any Drop to Drink" which was a chicken little leftist diatribe on how we would run out of water by 1990. The author used the "mining" of the Ogalala as evidence.

I got admitted to the VFW due to some part of my service (81-86), but I can't remember what part.

I have never read this before.

We are also honoring a hometown hero: S/Sgt Juan Rodriquez Chaves who was awarded the Naval Cross in June. He won't be here, but we will have his extended family on hand and read the action report on the Battle of Ganjigal.

A few months ago this topic came up ad I went to the industry sites and looked it up. They are running an average of about 70 to 80 percent. This is the main reason all those shutdown in the 80s.

There is a lot of room to add more usage.
