1 What a fascinating day, Ogabe is surging in popularity since most Americans think *icorrectly by the way* that the mere flipping of the House will stop him from giving in to his redder desires add in his superficial sacrificing of his Goreon Queen when he has vowed to use EPA to do the same thing and you have all the makings for a shit sandwich for at least another 2-3 months.

We need to be allowed to exploit our natural resources to fire us into genuine growth and leave the barackcession behind us....

not gonna happen so long as the Enviro-Lunatics run the asylum.

Those are not "our" resources. They are owned by the world, and it is time that we as Americans understand that we can't have everything. There are developing countries that need our resources; who are we to deny them? So you won't get a new TV next year, and you'll have to buy a smaller car (no more monster trucks!). That's a small price to pay for the health of Gaia.

7 I put this on the Browner thread,  but since it goes along with what Harp heard,  I am going to post it here as well.
I think you all should be prepared for a complete makeover tonight.

I noticed in the Arizona speech that he seems to have hired a new speechwriter (and probably a new speech coach as well).   That speech was much more poetic and lyrical (looked at purely on style points) than anything he has given,  including the Inaugural.

This morning ABC radio was saying that this speech will not be a laundry list,  but rather a positive affirmation of America.

I expect his points will go up.  I also think that the Daley brothers are now in charge, and they do not want to see the democrat brand destroyed.  Browner being canned is one of those decisions that is going to move Obama back to the center for public consumption.

No,  I don't think this is a permanent decision,   nor do I think it is one that Obama is comfortable with;  he is a child of the far left.

But I think he wants to keep his job,  and I think the Daleys want him to keep it so that democrats in the lower tiers keep THEIR jobs.   The danger,  of course, is that once he gainid a second term he would do more country-destroying stuff and we would be screwed.

The correct response to this speech is "Is this the REAL Obama?"   Or is the angry and arrogant person we have seen for 2 years the real Barry?

17 Nickless,  isn't it amazing that they come right out and say this?  "He's going to have to move to the center."  "He's going to have to say some stuff more palatable to the independents."

In other words,  he is going to have to FAKE  moderation in order to get re-elected.  It's as phony as a 2-dollar bill,  and they report it like it's no big deal.

If someone is a fake,  how can you predict anything he is going to do policy wise?  The press acts like this is just a semantics thing,  but it goes to the heart of what is wrong.  None of us really can predicts what this guy will do with any degree of accuracy. Will he suddenly bow to his cronies and go hard left?  Succumb to the blandishments of Immelt and make GE in charge of all business?  Outlaw gasoline? Invite terrorists to a summit? I mean,  you cannot predict anything,  and it is why business is hunkering down (as well as me).

How is it that one's skill at fakery has become a standard for success?

I, and we, and everybody else, know Clinton did the same thing.  That's why knowing it, expecting it, and planning to overcome it mean it will be less effective for a true believer like Obama than a political chameleon like Clinton.

The second link is the most interesting to me. Hawaiian law allows for a child born outside the country to obtain a Hawaiian birth certificate. What is generated by the state is a Certification of Live Birth...like what Ogabe's people put out as proof he was born in Hawaii.

Could it be that that is all that is on file??

Here is the text of that law:

[§338-17.8] Certificates for children born out of State. (a) Upon application of an adult or the legal parents of a minor child, the director of health shall issue a birth certificate for such adult or minor, provided that proof has been submitted to the director of health that the legal parents of such individual while living without the Territory or State of Hawaii had declared the Territory or State of Hawaii as their legal residence for at least one year immediately preceding the birth or adoption of such child.

Fukino's second statement on the issue, which those trying to shut the issue down hang their hats on is this:

I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawaii State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen. I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago.

Now, he does not say there is a document different from the COLB that Ebola's people put out . The purpose of a BC is to "verify" when and where a person is born. Hawaiian law allows for this "verification"... even though it is not necessarily true.

Fulino "verification" that Jug Ears was born there is per Hawaiian law...but DOES NOT mean he was in reality born there.

If, Ogabe were born outside the US...HE IS NOT A CITIZEN!!

Actually, borrowing in Islam is haram, as it involves the charging of interest.  Of course, Obama wouldn't adhere to any earthly law aside from his own moral imaginations.

45 If Obama uses this 'Five Pillars' nonsense, I wish some purportedly conservative pundit would spin it thus:

"It's obviously a Muslim allusion, and the White House knows this, how could they not?  So why choose it?  The only answer can be to try to whip up some conspiracy theorizing in their conservative opposition that they think they can run against.  Frankly, it's a cynical ploy and the White House should actually try to act more conciliatory as the President told us he would in Tuscon."

Ask yourself why,  of all the people that could have participated,  Janet Napolitano and Eric Holder,  the two cabinet members who have directly attacked Arizona,  were given scripture readings at the memorial/rally?

Or the "lipstick" on the pig comment?  Or the middle finger scratching (done only when he is talking about a person or group he doesn't like)?  Or the crappy gifts to the british?

This is stuff he does because he has done this crap all of his life.  If he is called on it,  he looks up with his "innocent Barry" look and says "oh,  you must be reading things into that that simply weren't there.  Maybe you have a little bit of racism in your character."

He knows the press won't call him on this, so he does it constantly,  particularly to get his jollies.

And I will betcash money HE suggested the anti-American song that the Chinese pianist played at the state dinner.  "All a misunderstanding.."

It's funny that liberals are almost always the exact thing they rail against. They claim management does nothing and lives off the labor of the workers, when in reality that isn't true and yet when they run companies that is exactly what they do

The only way he can go on a competing network if he writes a book.  Do there are no more "shoot outs with ed rendell"...that's over for Hannity

Ed Rendell was a terrible governor here in PA, the consummate Philidelphia politician, corrupt and proud of it.

However, I will admit that he is further to the right than just about everyone on MSNBC including Joe Scarborough. He is also a decent speaking and broadcaster.

So all in all this is an upgrade for MSNBC.

I have seen the other stuff at AT. Though fun to read and contemplate, it doesn't pertain to the citizenship issue.

I am not taking a stand either way about whether or not Ebola is a citizen. The point I am trying to make with all the stuff in my comments above is that there is a set of very plausible circumstances - none of which have been refudiated as being not true -that would lead to a scenario where it is indeed possible that Ogabe might not qualify a a citizen..and therefore not have been eligible to desecrate the WH. And Birthers have every right to demand that Jug Ears proffer proof.

"Shut up, is why" is not an acceptable answer for me. Either we have a Constitution or we don't.

It could also just be that there is something emabarrassing or awkward on it like him being listed as Barry Soetero.

There is obviously something fishy since there is so much effort to shut inquiry down when simply releasing the document would settle the issue. As far as those saying that Ebola and crew are just playing with the Birthers and giving them the rope to hang themselves, it's not working very well as public opinion has shifted in favor of demanding that the document be released. Even Tingles is wondering why he doesn't do it.

Hawaiian law allows for a child born outside the country to obtain a Hawaiian birth certificate. What is generated by the state is a Certification of Live Birth...like what Ogabe's people put out as proof he was born in Hawaii.

It's like I suspected when you shot off your big mouth here last week, you've got your head so far up your ass that you don't have a clue as to what is going on out here in the real world.

BTW, FYI, shit-for-brains, Teddy Kennedy died last year.

150 Crematorium to heat council swimming pool

A funeral director has described Redditch Borough Council's plan to use crematorium furnaces to heat a municipal swimming pool as "a bit strange and eerie".

The authority's novel idea involves sucking calories from Borough Of Redditch Cemeteries & Crematorium to the nearby Abbey Stadium Sports Centre. The facility's cremators dispatch the departed into the hereafter at 800°C, the Telegraph notes , and that heat is lost to the heavens. By tapping into the crematorium, the council stands to save £14,500 annually on its heating costs.

Council leader Carole Gandy said of the pragmatic proposal: "I'd much rather use the energy rather than just see it going out of the chimney and heating the sky. It will make absolutely no difference to the people who are using the crematorium for services. "I do recognise some people might not like it, but if they don't they don't have to use our crematorium. I wouldn't want them to do that but they have to make that choice.

She added: "It's only a proposal at the moment but personally I'm supportive of it because I think it will save the authority money and, in the long-term, save energy which is what we're all being told we should do."

Gordon Hull, from the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities, admitted the plan had planet-hugging potential. He said: "From an environmental view it makes sense that you don't need a separate boiler because of how much waste heat is created from the process."

However, local funeral director Simon Thomas expressed concerns, shuddering: "I don't know how comfortable people would feel about the swimming pool being heated due to the death of a loved one, I think it's a bit strange and eerie.

"I'm not comfortable with it at all and I think trying to save money due to the death of someone's family member or friend is a bit sick. I think it will cause uproar and may even put people off using the facilities which would lose the council money. It just doesn't feel right."

This is too ironic (or something).

Because they are?  They're "hired" as an E-6.  They don't go to boot camp.  The Cpls and Sgts at 8th & I aren't in the Band there.  They're usually infantry types.

The only musicians below the E-6 range are in the Drum and Bugle Corps (which is not the USMB).

Senate Democrats are pouncing on Rep. Paul RyanÂ’s (R-Wis.) role in delivering the Republican response to the State of the Union address to make the case that Republicans are intent on destroying Social Security and Medicare.

I saw a piece on MSNBC yesterday in which they insinuated that Darrell Issa was an unindicted car thief and arsonist. they also denigrated his success via his car alarm business. If the collusion between the MSM and Dems isn't painfully obvious to you by now, you've got a Brian instead of a brain.
