It may seem like a relatively unimportant item, but it will please a lot of people who hate those squiggle bulbs, plus it will deprive GE of income, which I think is a good thing.

Buddha?
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.v. Frost

The one with the most impact is the illegal and unconstitutional power grab by the EPA in going forward with the AGW scam by executive fiat.
If congress doesn't turn this around VERY quickly it will kill a lot of people. Or, maybe the action going on in TX will wind up in court and the courts will issue an injunction.

Could it not have been signed when he returned to DC? Is there some sort of deadline on signing that I don't know about (possible)?
Posted by: Miss Marple at January 03, 2011 03:32 AM (Fo83G)
Most ridiculous thing the IRS ever broadcast is for tax returns NOT to be filed by the IRS deadline. /Talk about a set-up for exploitation if ever there were, particularly with revisionist mutations of "meaning". As if the IRS can't hold filed tax returns submitted by the deadline until actually processed. Is there a law stipulating that the IRS must process a filed return within X-days? Hardly.

The unreleased official budget of the RNC reveals that the Republican Party's national governing body and premier fundraising apparatus begins the 2011-12 presidential election cycle more than $20 million in the hole.
One wonders why that is? LOL, the picture illustrates one major reason. The other major reason, and probably the biggest one of them all. The base hates the RNC RINO leadership and will no longer contribute. They are now contributing to two major causes, Jim DeMint's conservative PAC and Sarah Palin's PAC. Also to individual Tea Party candidates.
DeMint's and Palin's PACs were swimming in money. RNC, there have been a LOT of wake-up calls in the past two years.
Does it take a two-by-four?

NYC needs the cash flow. As I said earlier, this doesn't help 9-11 responders, it is a city bailout.

Policy & Permits. With Obama, no matter the law, simply execute, enforce and prosecute policy.
The global social justice point is, prevent American industry from occurring. It isn't "fair" for any developed nation to remain developed when there are so many nations that refuse to properly develop (void human rights) ripe for plunder.

RNC Michael Steele's only job description has been to fund raise.
He certainly never attempted to organize a conference to revamp the GOP Primary Electoral process, that could strengthen the GOP against being raided by Democrat votes particularly in "open primary" states.
I'm for a single national GOP platform (constitutional conservative translated via fiscal conservatism -- don't feed the socialist bureaucratic Beast any tax funds), a single GOP national primary election date followed within the month by a primary run-off election date between the top two. Maintain candidate "advertising" and propaganda online through the RNC website and direct links -- save footing MSM costs for the general election.
Now, what did Michael Steele spend his term leading the RNC doing?

I'm sure it was the dreaded "f-word" which they use themselves to designate particularly femine gays. Being super sensitive about language is going to go really far in helping everyone adjust to dadt repeal. But when you have a grand agenda, don't stop. Just keep pushing.

Mr Y-not was reading up on that massive bird die-off. It turns out, they were red-winged blackbirds, not starlings or grackles (which a lot of us assumed). That's a crying shame. They're beautiful birds with a wonderful song that really says "summer" to me.
I guess they roost in a huge groups (tens or hundreds of thousands), so a few thousand dying is a relatively "small" percentage. I hope it was just a freak accident as they seem to suspect.
Also, the male red-wing blackbirds are highly polygynous (they have lots of lady friends). So, truly, they are practitioners of the ace of spades lifestyle!

Yeah. The hysterically funny (in a depressing way) things are all the warning signs posted at apartment buildings, condos, etc, that actually state someone may have smoked a cigarette in or near the building at some time. Ridiculous.

From CNN Money:
After three years of economic pain, a growing number of economists think 2011 will finally bring what everyone's been hoping for: More jobs and a self-sustaining recovery.
"We're looking at some leading indicators on employment, and they're all flashing green lights," said Bernard Baumohl of the Economic Outlook Group, a Princeton, N.J. research firm.
Though most economists still expect a painfully high unemployment rate of about 9% at the end of this year, some think that stat masks more important signs of strength.
So unemployment is still going to be at 9% but at the same time we're going to have a robust year for hiring. MiniTrue would be proud, very proud

As I read it, they've reduced the penalties for possession
---
Oh, that makes sense. Voters decisively reject legalizing it (via Prop 19), so the state decides they'll just work around them. Again.
Because what California needs are more stoned people. An employer's dream come true!
Gawd I'm glad I left that hell-hole.

We spent the year with a Congress also on a quest for “Unobtainium.” If it weren’t so expensive, the similarities would be laughable.

Situational for Galadirel. Were there some doing or contriving she believed would work she would have. A line later she says "Yet hope remains while all the Company is true." which was a subtle poke at her reading of Boromir.

On Friday past, I took my kids to the video store to rent some movies to watch, and was rather puzzled (in an amusing sort of way) by the ratings given to some of the movies. While checking the rating of one of the movies it had: PG-13 for fantasy violence, adult situations, and some smoking.
Smoking?! Smoking in movies is now a part of the rating system? I can remember watching episodes of Perry Mason and other shows where everyone in the courtroom (including the judge) was lighting up, and now smoking requires a rating? Funniest end of a civilization evah, here we come.

One wonders how long it will take for this to happen here. The most recent election probably bought us some time, but how much? I recently applied to cash out my 401k and just eat the hit now, rather than lose all later - but the plan forbids it unless I terminate employment. Should I manage to find a different job, closing out the plan will be job 1. Job 2 will be getting the remaining money converted into assets outside the US, and hopefully off-books, in preparation for bugging out.
Fuck these leeches.

He thinks I am a genius, of course.
The next step will of course, be just this. Or taxing the money in them at your current rate, not at a future retirement rate.
If we don't stop Obama he will end up confiscating "too large" homes, "excessive non-agricultural land, taxing second cars and boats, paying an "exit tax" to go out of the country, etc. etc. The only thing that protects us is the thin red line in the House.

"Twice as many workers as usual called in sick--a way to get around the restrictions of the Taylor Law."
The biased article says that NYC workers called out that Monday and Tuesday and implies that it was an illegal job action, but fails to mention that the Saturday before was freakin' Christmas! Yeah, you might get people making a long weekend out of it because of Christmas, ya think?
