Only this time Obama has a
new voting bloc to bribe with your money.
Obama will use his executive authority to provide student loan relief in two ways.
First, he will accelerate a measure passed by Congress that reduces the maximum repayment on student loans from 15 percent of discretionary income annually to 10 percent. The White House wants it to go into effect in 2012, instead of 2014. In addition, the White House says the remaining debt would be forgiven after 20 years, instead of 25. About 1.6 million borrowers could be affected.
Second, he will allow borrowers who have loans from both the Family Education Loan Program and a direct loan from the government to consolidate them into one loan. The consolidated loan would be up to a half percentage point less. This could affect 5.8 million more borrowers.

“Executive authority” to change a law passed by Congress? Uh, let me check my copy of the Constitution. I don’t find that in Article II. Keep in mind this “student loan forgiveness” shit was passed when the commies had complete control. Let me see, if I know that all debt is forgiven in 25 years how hard am I going to go to pay it back?

On this day in 1881 “I’m your Huckleberry" became a slogan when the gunfight at OK Corral occurred. From a distance of 6 feet 30 shots were fired in 30 seconds and only two people were killed.

Elizabeth Warren takes "credit" for the OWS flakes
Tell me folks from MA, how can anyone this stupid get elected in MA? We had Alvin Greene here, but nobody gave him a serious chance and he became a national joke. This scrunt is a joke but she is likely to win.

F&F has come out full bore anti-Perry this morning. He only came out with his “flat tax” because of Cain. No credit for the fact that he advocated it in his book years ago. Piss on these Romneybots at Fox.
But we have nothing to worry about. Dick Morris says Romney is the one who will get it because he will get that all important “independent” voter. Based on his record of predictions we have nothing to worry about.

I've been to Tombstone (stationed nearby), and those cowboys don't even use live ammo. Two accidental deaths in one show would be news, but not worth a whole movie.

However, I did take note that when she railed about how government is in the pocket of big business, for the first time she neglected to specifically attack Republicans and conservatives.
I had a similar conversation with one of my musician buddies like that a few months ago, railing about how big business was in bed with politicians, implying Pubbies without mentioning them specificially. When I asked if he meant the way Obama was in bed with GE, the look on his face was, as they say, priceless.
Stammering ensued.

Yes.. the one advantage of the OWS kooks is that they are forcing libs to admit how really bad Obama, and more importantly a Dem Congress, has been for the country.
Could that sentiment translates into libs staying home next election? Let's hope so.

Hence, gordian knots of the most intricate webs of pretzel logic will be hurled at you. And in the end, when that fails, they'll just explain "STFU, that's why!"
Throw in a heaping helping of immaturity (OWSers), willful ignorance, lefty indoctrination (thanks, Fresh Prince of Bill Ayers), MFM malfeasance, and a lack of life experience from trust fund babies and you have the perfect recipe for America today.
We are well and truly boned.

Despite all you say, there is still an overwhelming majority of people in this country who are conservatives.
Yeah, things are creepily similar to Jimmah Cahtah's Reign of Error. That was bad enough to wake up even the most somnambulent.
Things are worse this time. Carter was inept, SCOAMF is deliberate.
And with that, I'm off to the salt mine. Y'all have fun and try not to trash the place.

A Dem who's "having fun" campaigning for student body president of the United States.
"Having fun" is hardly a qualification to convince voters when introducing himself at debates.
Bombing another nation, Mitt Romney's having fun ordering our troops into combat. Implementing more corrupt financial bail-outs, Mitt Romney's having fun enriching the corruption at taxpayer expense. Instituting higher taxes despite his campaign "promise them anything, just get their votes" Mitt Romney is having fun. And if we're just like him, we can have fun, too. gag

Chris Hedges advocates that the Tea Party movement is not only legitimate, but necessary to support. (youtube 6 series single interview)
Oct. 6 Occupy Washington DC, the only venue for reform is via civil disobedience. Supporting the DNC is self delusion. Obstruct the forces of control in government through peaceful civil protest. Incremental and piecemeal reform can no longer occur within the authoritarian government in power today regardless of political party. To appeal within the current powers further enables the authoritarian structures that have usurped legitimacy.

Their strategy might be to disrupt the elections next year.. I'm not sure what other kind of civil disobedience they could undertake with such small numbers.

Vic, let me spin a little here. (yeah, I know, your gone for now) Massachusetts. Hmmm. Now they wouldn't vote for a murderer would they? They wouldn't vote for a drunken fool over and over would they? They wouldn't vote for an avowed commie would they? (avowed but heavily camouflaged by the Camelot loving press). Neah. They wouldn't do that.

And he got more votes than Harry Reid. isn't that something?
I think Elizabeth Warren has a great chance. My theory about Massachusetts is they just plain hate the rest of America; which is why they send John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, and Barney Frank to national office.

The protesters have agreed upon 16 guidelines, which include respecting one another, not inhibiting another person’s right to speak, and keeping the space clean. Guideline number 10 reads, “Don’t assume gender. When possible, go with gender-neutral pronouns.”
To keep the noise level down, protesters use hand signals instead of vocal commands to demonstrate opinion. “Twinkle fingers,” performed by wiggling fingers at ear level, shows approval. The “block”, which brings the forearms into an X shape, “is very powerful, very rare. It shows your opposition to a proposal is very strong, and that you think the proposal goes against the guidelines so strongly that you would be prepared to leave the movement over it,” a protester explained to the crowd.
A woman added, “Don’t mention God. It makes me feel like I have to hide my agnostic beliefs.”
And the MFM treats these brain dead clowns with total seriousness

Do you have tenure yet? 'Cause my friend from Purdue (who really never should have gotten tenure based on his lack of pubs and funding, but threatened to sue them - he's Latino) seems to have decided he doesn't need to do much of anything these days.
Yeah, it's pretty hard to listen to him whine about his life.
Posted by: Y-not, supple old fart at October 26, 2011 06:43 AM (5H6zj)
Mr. Y-not just returned from a business trip in Boston (recall, we lived there for about two and a half years during the first Gulf War so we know it pretty well). He reported a very odd phenomenon: lots of regular folks (cabbies, hotel and restaurant employees, passersby) were openly bitching about Obama. That included ethnic types (although he didn't specify if he meant immigrants or African Americans). I guess they blame him for the downturn.
Now he was traveling with LDS folks, and visiting primarily with them, so there was definitely some pro-Romney support in that group (business types, wealthy folks), but he said amongst the regular folks there was a sense that Romney was the devil they knew. They didn't like him, but felt he'd be better than Obama.
He didn't hear the other candidates discussed. I hope Perry gets a lot of media time to sell his economic plan. I'm glad he did very well on O'Reilly (although I wish less time was spent by BO'R trying to get Perry to say something nasty about Mitt) because, although we loathe him, he has a big audience.
But Romney (and Obama) having the media and chattering classes on his side is undoubtedly an advantage. It leaves virtually no oxygen left for the other candidates. And, of course, he is rarely asked any sort of difficult question.
I will risk the teasing of the Palin supporters and admit that I think it would be good to have her endorse Perry at this point. He needs the boost. It could hurt him in the general, but he needs some game-changers on media coverage.
Posted by: Y-not, supple old fart at October 26, 2011 06:51 AM (5H6zj)
He looks terrific, he speaks clearly, the message is simple. Love it.
Very rarely do we get to see the candidates in this short ads. Usually we are "treated" to melodramatic voice overs and clips from media reports. I loved the visuals and script of this ad. Even the music was good.
