As Scott Brown fights for re-election, tea party groups vow to sit this one out

In 2010, he was the tea party poster boy. In 2012, Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown may not get so much as a nod of acknowledgement from tea party groups.

As I said last year, he is toast this election.

Bachmann continues to campaign like a Democrat

Hey babe, Perry is no longer in the lead according to the MFM. ShouldnÂ’t you be attacking Cain now.  Perhaps you should send some of your staff to GodfatherÂ’s Pizza to see if they have a rock at the entrance to the corporate HQ or a pizza choice titled “SamboÂ’s Supreme”.

ThereÂ’s a reason you are falling faster than Bill Clintons pants and are now lower than the RentÂ’s Too High Guy.

Holder is a serial liar

Why does he get away with it?

President Obama should not have nominated him, and I urged that the Senate not confirm him. Beltway Republicans, however, rallied to HolderÂ’s defense, and Senate Republicans dutifully joined their Democratic counterparts in overwhelmingly approving his appointment.

One of the many arguments I made was based on HolderÂ’s record of providing misleading congressional testimony.

Because we put asshole RINOs like Graham on the Judicial committee and Republicans rarely fight a nomination. That needs to change.

22 Good morning!  Thanks for the headlines,  Vic!

Odd things on BBC radio early this morning:

Palin's resignation was commented on by some guy named Trainer (what it sounded like) from Comcast.  Why would the BBC go to a Comcast guy for a comment? I didn't know they had political reporters.

Bob Dylan was nominated for the Nobel Literature Prize (he didn't win).

Hardly. Are there no Constitutional conservatives in the mold of Allen West up there? The TP could flex its muscles again and find someone, methinks.

And purity? Hell, I'd settle for consistency and predictability from those we elect to Congress. Is that too much to ask?

34 Scott Brown was a useful tool at the time. It shocked the Dems and increased the R count, but now it is time for that refuse to be thrown out.

Posted by: dogfish at October 06, 2011 03:32 AM (N2yhW)

35 Well, this poll has Brown ahead of Warren by 3 points.  Which is not great, but it is good, considering all the great publicity (from the left's POV) that Warren got recently with her inane collectivist comments.

It's not like I'll be sending Scott Brown any money this time around, but I will definitely be rooting for him against Warren.

37 Awaiting public comment from the Marxist Elizabeth Warren, Obama's butt girl running against Scott Brown in Massachusetts.

Oh no no Dr. Fish, you should be happy that a Marxist is going to win a Senate seat because it means a RINO with a 60% purity score is going to be defeated

Posted by: chemjeff at October 06, 2011 03:35 AM (s7mIC)

Well, I guess it's not unlike the national scene, where promising candidates manage to shoot themselves in the foot regularly.

What is it with these people? Bachmann, Neut, now Perry, and Cain. They all seem to do it. Makes us conservatives look bad, which is a shame when the message should be to rid us of that stuttering clusterfuck of a miserable failure ASAP.

42 I gotta tell ya' it seems to me that this election has turned over a rock and shown us how many Democrats are actually running as Republicans.

Keep it up fuzzballs!

We're watching, we're taking down names, wherever you go, whoever you talk to, whatever you do, however you react to penetrating questions; we'll review the tape.

For:
inconsistencies (not minor flubs but Freudian slips that reveal your inner nature)
how you carry yourself (confident, weak, surly, friendly, open, egotistical)
who you hire
where you came from
where you are
what you want to do as President
what policies/plans/laws you've produced/promoted in the past
what your staff says

We watched Sarah Palin get a colonoscopy by the MFM while ignoring the obvious flaws in their candidate.
We know now it's up to us and only us to vet each and every one of you that's wants the power.

Posted by: dogfish at October 06, 2011 07:32 AM (N2yhW)

In exchange for a full-on socialist?  A Jim DeMint-type simply can NOT win in the northeast.

I prefer a candidate with whom I agree 85% of the time over a candidate who believes everything I've accomplished I owe to the government.

Why that is lost on people, I'll never understand.  You run the best candidate who can win.  Expecting South Carolina conservative values out of a Massachusetts Republican is simply ignorant.

No candidate anywhere agrees with 100% of what I believe.  None of them.  It thus becomes a preference cascade.

How can anyone here possibly prefer Warren to Brown?  What kind of spite does it require to sacrifice a 'most of the time' vote simply because it's not an 'all the time' vote?

This shit reminds me of last year when all you ef'n purists were crying about us trying to elect Mark Kirk here in Illinois.  You simply don't give a shit, or are too stupid to realize a 100% conservative is not going to win - ever - in these states.

Posted by: Chi-Town Jerry at October 06, 2011 03:43 AM (UTq/I)

48 Yes, his score is in the RINO territory but not as low as the ME sisters. However, as I posted yesterday, the ACU score doesn't always give the full story.

He and the ME sisters voted for cloture on the Dodd-Frank bill allowing it to be voted on. The all three voted against it so they could get credit for a no vote. The vote for cloture was, in effect, the vote for the bill.

That wasn't the only one that he did that on during that lame duck session from hell. He, the ME sisters, Lisa Mookow alternated screwing the Republicans.

Posted by: CaveJohnson at October 06, 2011 03:51 AM (N2tq+)

57 Ah, the perpetual question; Is it better to vote for someone who's only half as bad as their opponent?

Of course it is but we must recognize that when we do, we only encourage such behavior.

Unless we refuse to vote for those who are only 50% conservative then that's the kind of candidates we'll keep getting.

It's a conundrum of vast import and no one but you can decide what's best.

I try to weigh the possibilities/probabilities and make my choice with what's at hand and NOT with what I wished for.

That's why the primaries are so important and we should make every effort to make them as fair, honest and without interference by those who don't have our best interests at heart.

First, let's start NOW to demand that Primaries NOT be open.
Second, let's demand that our candidates have debates that are NOT produced by the liberal media.
Third, demand that ALL official candidates be allowed IN those debates. To allow any group to decide who is to be allowed a voice is wrong and manipulates our choices. It also allows the other candidates to avoid answering the charges of the fringe candidates.

Let's hold the primaries whenever BUT make the party nominating convention be open to actual voting and not the passion play that they've become. Anointing the person with the most primary votes.

Make it like it used to be where the delegates can change the game if the Committees are screwing with the system.

Meanwhile, buy some nose clips cause I think we'll need them in
Nov '12.

59 The problem is Vic that any Democrat from ME or MA would have not only voted for cloture, they would have voted for passage as well. Not only that they would have voted for SCoaMFCare and tons of other socialist candy. What kind of judges for SCOTUS will a Lizzy Warren or a Democrat from ME support? What will their vote on issues of defense and taxes look like? Would they support tax reform and spending reductions? How about SCoaMFCare? I don't even believe that moderate Republicans like these hurt the conservative brand. What hurts the brand is when you nominate a moderate where a more conservative candidate has just as good a chance of winning a la Dede ScazzoFavaBeans.

Centrist Coalition, see also: The Third Way (Clinton & Tony Blair) rejects both laissez-faire and socialist approaches to economic governance, but chiefly stresses technological development, education, and competitive mechanisms to pursue economic ends according to the Democratic Leadership Council. One of its central aims is to protect the modern welfare state through reforms that maintain its economic integrity.

Central aim is the Welfare State, protected politically by publicly denying the socialist label even while reforming "economic integrity" through higher taxes/tariffs.

88 Well one thing is clear, it should be the goal to focus on getting solid conservatives in red states first, then work on swing states, then try to pick off the occasional Marxist from blue states.  So Scott Brown isn't high on the priority list, in that respect.  But in terms of the 2012 election, the R's are doing pretty well (ND, MT, NE, MO).  We do need to get rid of the rest of the D senators in red states like SD, AK, AR but they aren't up for election next year.

93 Another thing to keep in mind about the RINOs is that post above about the confirmation of Holder. The judicial committee requires at least one vote from the minority Party to move the nomination of a candidate to the floor for a vote.

Thus, the minority Party can block ANY judicial appointment in committee by all of its members voting no. With a RINO like Lindsay Graham on the committee there is never a block. Meanwhile the Dems used that tactic with nearly all of Bush's appointments. That is where RINOs really kill us.

If we had true conservative leadership in the Senate and the House who make sure that these RINOs didn't get on the important committees that would help a lot.

I asked how they explained Oswald, Aldrich Ames and Robert Hanssen in that case and how they demonstrated greater love for America than Marco Rubio.

I switched the program last night from Levin to hear Michael Savage's Washington journalist guest host's take on Palin's announcement. He said it was her smart decision given the bloody uphill battle of the '12 GOP Primary, and a good move, because any Republican President would do well installing Palin as Sec.of Energy since she KNOWS natural gas and oil better than most political "experts"--and that position would provide her with more executive experience for down the road, she being young.

I will continue driving the discussion for freedom and free markets, including in the race for President where our candidates must embrace immediate action toward energy independence through domestic resource developments of conventional energy sources, along with renewables. --Palin

134 Why is it that the Northeast is so liberal?  What makes them that way?  Why don't they understand that the more power given to central government means less independance for themselves?  Is it something in their water?

Lots of socialist immigrants from Europe came over in the early twentieth century and settled there and outbred the Yankees, who were pretty progressive anyway.  Machine politics, the core of Democrat governance, was born in New York and Boston among the immigrant populations.  Organized crime was always tied closely to the Democrat party in these areas, an association that continues to this day.

The NE was also big into factories once upon a time, which meant lots of unions.  Couple that with colleges (which have been churches for Marx since 1900) and you get a very liberal place.

There is also a tendency for more conservative residents of the North East to get frustrated and leave for other places.

170 $1.5 million. Isn't that the cost of an Air Force flight for former Speaker Pelosi and family........when you add liquor and lobster to the tab?

This.

Problem is no one will hear that.  How these liberals can stand themselves is beyond me.

As an aside, my In-laws are pretty much all Marxists. In 2008, I was asked if I was going to vote with them.  Meaning, On-The-Darkside. After removing my jaw from the floor, I politely refrained from telling my M-I-L what I really thought.

Do not waste your time trying to convince the Left of their constant hypocrisy; they will always come up with an argument you cannot prove.

171 I don't think Bachmann was supposed to let the cat out of the bag this early concerning the Texas Enterprise Fund. I'm sure the opposition was holding that back for a reason.

172 >>And for liberals who fucked up their own states to move south and immediately being telling the unwashed southerners why it's so good "up north." Works both ways. Elizabeth Warren, for example, is from Oklahoma. Came here to teach at Harvard and never left. Lots of liberals from around the country come here for the schools and never leave.

173 If you listen, the booing (what little there was) was at the question.  No one booed when he identified himself as a gay soldier.  They were booing the question, not the questioner.

But the left creates falsehoods that never die.

Freedom of Speech, so therefore Me, My Song, and All My Rowdy Friends are OUT OF HERE.  ItÂ’s been a great run.” -- Hank Williams Jr

Why do these inbred fucks wait until someone is dead before a protest?  If they had a problem with Steve Jobs, why weren't they in front of Apple headquarters a year ago?

And if they have such a problem with U.S. Soldiers, why not hang around outside any VFW.

I guess it's likely due to the fact that at a funeral mourners will do just about anything they can to keep the occasion solemn, and will avoid a fight at all costs.

In another venue, these fuckers would get their asses kicked back to Deliverenceville.

180 I had not known that Steve Jobs was adopted. The Today Show quoted a Seattle Times editorial about how we need to give guys like this [adopted, college drop outs from middle class families] a chance. I guess its a good thing that Roe v. Wade was not decided in 1954.
