Republican Senator Calls on Obama to Cancel Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac Bonuses
Will Obama Cancel Fannie And Freddie Bonuses?
A Republican senator is calling on President Obama to cancel the $12.8 million in bonuses that were approved for 10 executives at the government-seized mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that received a $170 billion taxpayer-funded bailout.
Will he cancel them? Not a chance in hell. Keep in mind that F&F is an employment agency for friends of Democrats. This after Obama screamed long and loud about Wall Street bailouts and their bonuses that were part of a pre-existing contract. Also keep in mind that Democrat passed special tax of 90% on “bonuses”. Where is the outrage now?

I have never heard of this happening before.
Embattled Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt agreed Tuesday to sell the ball club, with the team to be auctioned in bankruptcy court, the Los Angeles Times reported.
How do you go bankrupt with a sports franchise in this day and age? They are a virtual license to steal money from the taxpayers.

AZ redistricting now in danger
I posted an article a few days ago about the DOJ finally approving the SC redistricting plan and the head of the state Commiecrat Party intending to sue anyway to try to hold it up in court some more. What happened there was the Dems joined forces with some RINOs and blocked the plan that had gone through the legislature until after a set deadline which caused it to go to the courts. (Which is why it got approved by the DOJ and the Dems donÂ’t have a leg to stand on).
It sounds like they are trying the same thing in AZ. I guess the SOBs have a master plan book on how to delay redistricting when it benefits Republicans where States have picked up extra seats. I truly do believe the Democrat Party has now become a criminal enterprise.

Veteran Republican strategist Roger Stone says a serious libertarian third-party candidate could pose a “great danger” to the GOP’s hopes of winning back the White House in 2012.
“It certainly looms out there as a dangerous possibility,” Stone told The Daily Caller. “The Libertarian Party, for example, is on the ballot in all 50 states, and should the Republicans nominate, say, Romney, then a candidate running on a tea party fiscal platform would … pose a great danger for the Republicans.”
However, he is immediately discredited by this:
Stone, who led a movement to draft real estate mogul Donald Trump into the race earlier this year, thinks one candidate in particular could pose a threat to the GOP should he choose to run on a third party line. According to Stone, former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson has both the record and the message needed to mount a serious Libertarian challenge to the GOP in 2012.
Anyone who wanted Trump to run is a damn fool.

Well, that’s it for the news this morning. All the papers (and F&F) are dwelling on is Cain, Cain, Cain. Isn’t it amazing how a Republican “scandal” story will linger in the news for days and weeks even when there is scant evidence while a Dem., if reported at all, is gone after day 1. BTW, the NYT is reporting that woman was paid $35K to go away and STFU. That is chicken feed for one of these suits.
Here is an interesting take on Politico and Cain from Flopping Aces

I know this is one thread late, but I was heartened to see the "smoking gun" about the mortgage meltdown in the ONT. I was aware that Cliton had something to do with it, but was unsure as to the exact nature of his misdeeds.
I knew we were in trouble when he had both Cloward and Piven at that signing ceremony at the White House.

TORONTO (AP) - Canada is joining the U.S. in cutting off funding for the U.N. cultural agency UNESCO because it approved a Palestinian bid for full membership.
Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird said Tuesday the decision is not in the best interests of peace in the Middle East, so Canada is freezing all future voluntary contributions to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

I'm still perplexed, however, why anyone would want to take out Cain at this point.

Roger Stone is the idiot who got in the papers for having his picture and his wife's in some sort of wife-swapping publication. He is the guy who occasionally appears on TV in very gangster-looking pin-striped suits and has bleached blonde hair. I give him as much credence as Meghan McCain.
Politico is upset this morning that Iowa is "yawning" at the Cain allegations. Also, they have a story about the Congressional Black Caucus being too hard on Obama. Ken Vogel of Politico used to work for Soros' group Center for Public Integrity.
Also want to recommend Rick Perry's appearance at Iowa Manufacturer's Association. 15-minute public on-stage interview answering all sorts of questions. Very knowledgeable, some good ideas, at ease in front of the crowd, and a pretty impressive appearance. I would not count him out. The debates have been set up to make most of the candidates look stupid. Am thinking GOP needs to step in somehow. Maybe that Cain-Gingrich debate will be well-watched and the contrast will be apparent.
Sorry I don't have links but I can NEVER get this system to work properly.

The closest anyone came to hitting it was Neil Cavuto. He did a one hour special on the collapse and hit on a lot of things. The CRA thing though he barely touched. It has "racial" implications. What is funny about that Cavuto thing is that the talking heads on Fox seem to have completely forgot it.
The rest of the media has NEVER touched anywhere close to what really happened. They all blame "Wall Street" and Republican de-regulation. And the damn stupid public largely believes them.

Right after Hurricane Katrina, Newt was on Fox and said that what George Bush should do is have a Marshal Plan for the Gulf Coast. (For young whippersnappers, that would be a large infusion of federal money, like we did to rebuild Europe after WWII.)
Well, with the media and the democrats howling that Katrina was "Bush's fault", and with people like Newt insisting that there should be federal money spent in a large way, billions of dollars went into the abyss of Katrina aid. I am sure you all remember the stories of gift cards used at casino, bordellos, and for designer purses and such.
Nine months after the bill was passed, Newt was on Fox again. When the discussion came up about the corruption and waste in the hurricane aid program, he said, "This is what happens when the federal government gets involved in something like this."
I about threw a large book at the television. And I came to the conclusion that Newt would say whatever he thought the popular position was in order to get face time. He is an opportunist. He is verbally quite gifted, and can churn out ideas non-stop. I do not find him trustworthy.
I wish I had tapes of both of those appearances, because it explains why he was also on the couch with Pelosi. He thought that was what most people wanted.

On a personal level, I'm guessing Cain is the candidate Barack Obama least wants to run against. If we can be brutally honest, Barry is preoccupied with race and I think he enjoys styling himself as the Black Candidate. That'll be hard to do if he's running against Cain.
Note I don't think this means the media or DNC fears a Cain run. The takeaway should be that Barry is a dick who would get bothered by something like this.

Is THIS ”sexual harassment?”
It may be April Fools Day, but XXXXX was acting like it was
ValentineÂ’s Day. He was in full charm mode while
touring the Tama
Manufacturing plant, a JC Penny supplier of
made-in-the-USA clothing in Allentown.
XXXXX was especially flirtatious today, winking and grinning at the female workers who were swooning behind their cell phone camerasÂ…
During the 25-minute tour, XXXXX called a woman ‘sweetie,’ and thanked her in spanish…
But XXXXX lavished compliments on dancewear manufacturer Marisa Cerveris explaining she was once in the New York City ballet.
“You look like you might be a dancer,” XXXXX told her, later adding: “You’re big time.”
“You’re gorgeous,” he told Cerveris after glancing at one of her old ballet photos.
ONE DAY LATER:
“What do I need to do? [to get your vote] Do you want me on my
knees?” he asked. He then conceded, keeping with his flirty
trend of the day (see earlier report), “I’ll give you a kiss.”
THREE YEARS LATER:
Friction about the roles of women in the XXXX workplace grew so
intense during the first two years that he was forced to take
steps to reassure senior women on his staff that he valued their
presence and their input.
At a dinner in November 2009, several senior female aides complained directly to XXXXX that men enjoyed greater access to him and often muscled them out of key policy discussions.
XXXXX is NOT Herman Cain.
XXXXX is Obama.

Ryan took some people by surprise here because he seems to have a done a 180 on Romney but looking at the quote in context I don't think that's what he's doing. He's trying to boost all the top tier candidates, which he freely does and admits is his strategy in this interview. A large part of that is due to taking a position with the RNC, in which he will have to promote the eventual frontrunner whether he approves of them or not.

More like, Obama enjoys having others style him as the black candidate. Then he can pretend to be above it all, the way he did last time.
Cain may or may not be the best candidate. But as a man of significant personal accomplishment, he certainly would contrast sharply with the hothouse flower Obama, who never achieved anything by his own merit.

Israel currently has three submarines and two more being manufactured in Germany.
Earlier this year, the Der Spiegel reported that Germany had granted Israel's request to provide it with a six Dolphin submarines said to be capable of carrying nuclear weapons.
Dolphin submarines are manufactured in the city of Kiel in Germany. Experts estimate they are have the longest cruising range of all submarines. Some reports claim they are also able to carry and launch nuclear weapons.
Berlin had granted the request after several years during which Israel has been pushing for the deal.
Meanwhile, the world's nuclear powers are planning on spending hundreds of billions of dollars modernizing and upgrading their nuclear warheads, The Guardian said. Despite budgetary issues and international rhetoric calling for nuclear weapons disarmament, the report points to "era of nuclear weapons."

I was asking my husband about this, because you'd think the Dodgers licensing rights alone would keep them afloat. They and the Yankees are probably the two best-known teams world-wide.
Anyway, he reminded me McCourt is going through a very messy divorce, so he speculated that he declared bankruptcy to try to protect his assets.

The scrolling marquee of the DOOM thread makes it difficult to post there (difficult, but FUN), so I'll post this here. It's more appropriate for here anyway, though I don't know if anyone will read it since I think this is probably a dead thread (I always miss the Headline thread!).
I'd post this on the Headlines thread, but since I'm sure everyone's going to bypass that in favor of DOOM or internescine political warfare on the poll thread, I'll post here.
If this is what the "next generation" looks like, then maybe I don't really give a rat's ass if we doom them to DOOM:
A wealthy Manhattan real-estate agent buying Halloween goodies for underprivileged kids at an East Harlem mall was nearly killed by two 12-year-old punks who dropped a shopping cart on her from four stories above — then laughed about it later, police sources said yesterday.
Marion Salmon Hedges was with her 13-year-old son, who watched in horror as his mom fell to the ground in the East Harlem mall on Sunday.
“We heard a little boy just screaming,” recalled Susan Mahoney, who was at the mall with her doctor husband, Gaurav Patel, and 1-year-old son, Kieran.
...
The pint-sized perps were smiling, telling jokes and laughing with each other after they were taken into custody, police sources told The Post.
At one point, suspect Raymond Hernandez of Harlem started crying like a baby — but clearly only because he got caught, not because he felt any remorse for leaving the victim near death, the sources added.
“They were just doing it for fun,’’ one source said of the horrendous cart-pushing stunt late Sunday afternoon outside the Costco on East 116h Street in Manhattan.
The boys had been part of a group of hooligans tossing Slushees over the 3¹/2-foot high railing of a parking-level walkway outside Target earlier in the day, cops said...
Naturally the boys' parents are saying they're "good kids." Yeah, they sound like little frigging angels.

4 Suspected U.S. Militia Members Charged in Plot to Attack Government Officials
Four suspected members of a fringe north Georgia militia group were arrested Tuesday by federal authorities and charged with plotting to buy explosives and trying to make a deadly toxin in a bizarre plot to attack unnamed government officials.
The four men in their 60s and 70s were part of a group that also tried to obtain an unregistered explosive device and sought out the complex formula to produce ricin, a biological toxin that can be lethal in small doses, according to a federal complaint.
Given what we know about F&F I don’t have a lot of confidence in this case. Are these oldsters hardened fanatics or are they the victims of the government creating a crime so they can have some more “home grown” terrorism to fuel Janet Uglytono’s PR machine?
