Fox's version of latest budget fight

This is the worst written and most biased article I have ever read by Fox.  Chad Pergram should go ahead and sign up for Kos or Politico. It starts with the link from the main page:

Congress Pushes Deadlines to Brink

It is actually “factual” as the saying goes, but the wording is so hyperbolic that it gives you the feeling of impending doom for some huge catastrophe.  Then it moves on to the actual title of the article.

Congress and the “Bad Case of ‘Deadline-itis”

More hyperbole but it is not so much of a catastrophe now. But on to the article itself.  The title is actually a quote from Alice B. Hastings, the discredited commie House member from Florida who was impeached and disbarred for accepting bribes as a judge. Yes a fine one to quote and make up titles from.

"This Congress has a bad case of deadline-itis," declared Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) at a meeting of the House Rules Committee Monday night.

Lot of talk in here about the rancor and hostility between the Republicans and the Democrats like that was a bad thing. Fk old Chad and his horse. The Democrats/commies spent like idiots when they were in charge and locked Republicans out of these type of meetings. Any mention of that? Not a damn one.  Any mention of the fact that the Democrats even when in complete charge never passed a budget at all and the Senate still hasnÂ’t passed a budget. Any mention of that? Not a damn one.

We need more rancor and if they pass nothing and shut down the government that would be even better. So piss off Chad.

But not to worry Chad, Crying Boner will make another “deal”.

Senate Republicans grow some balls and block another isiot nominated by Obama for ambassador

Republicans opposed the selection over unfounded rumors that her boyfriend of years ago was a Cuban spy and new outrage over a summertime op-ed on gay rights.

Read the article and it becomes apparent that there is a lot more there than “unfounded rumors”.

I'm astounded, The Hill actually opposes a bill the commies have been pushing all year.

We have talked about this bill in the comments a few times. Probably would not hurt for someone to do a full post on it. It is a definite POS. First it is being pushed to satisfy lobbyists for a few cronies and second to get the regulators foot in the door for more internet regulation and stifling of speech.  We already have adequate laws on the books to prevent piracy from both domestic and international cheaters. We do not need this bill.

HereÂ’s a sample:

Consider this: Under the proposed legislation all thatÂ’s required for government to shutdown a specific website is the mere accusation that the site unlawfully featured copyrighted content.

Obama's lies continue to be outrageous and in this case so bad it is ludicrous

President Obama suggested, during his recent CBS interview, that his domestic and foreign policy achievements over his first term surpass any other United States president, “with the possible exceptions” of Presidents Lincoln, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and Lyndon Johnson.

Well, maybe I will have to rethink that. All three of those Presidents worked to destroy the Constitution and they did the most they could do to actually create long term harm to the country.  So yeah, maybe he is on par with them.

This is the epitome of what is wrong with big government solutions and our current regulatory environment

In the wake of recent claims of an inappropriate airport security strip search by an elderly New York woman, U.S. Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-NY.) and New York state Senator Michael Gianaris called on the U.S. Transportation Security Administration to start employing “Passenger Advocates,” at airports in the United States.

So the incompetent government agency created at the behest of a NY Senator (Hillary) is screwing up like most of us knew they would. What is the solution from this NY Senator? Create another incompetent government agency to try to combat the shit that the first agency does. This has been the story of every agency we have. They are ALL shit.

And lets not forget the 9-11 was not caused by “airport security” at the time. It was caused by other incompetent assholes in the government in multiple agencies.  So we created another huge government agency to offset the incompetent government agencies that allowed 9-11.

Some good news irony from the GOP here in SC

Remember that civil suit that I posted about back in Nov where 4 counties were suing over having to pay part of the cost of “Republican Primaries” (Democrats aren’t holding one). (Also recall this is the rational that the courts use to rule State mandated open primaries are legal)

Well that suit cost the toads big time. Based on a SC Supreme Court ruling from that suit the Republican Party is only responsible for $180,000 of those costs. So the Republican Party immediately told the State they were reducing the amount they would pay for because they had agreed to pay more. Of course this Democrat PR rag doesnÂ’t like it. In fact, they gave up their daily bashing of Nikki Haley to squeal their outrage on this one.

Lesson learned, sometimes going to court is not a good idea.

Some of the Morons posted this in comments yesterday but not all may have seen it.

Canada has formally withdrawn from Kyoto. The UK paper says they blame the fact that it doesn’t cover the U.S. and China but then they quote the “right wing” prime minister:

The news came as little surprise, especially since Mr Kent said last month that "Kyoto is the past." The right-of-centre Conservatives took power in 2006 and made it clear they would not stick to Canada's Kyoto commitments.

No mention that the whole thing is a scam and a fraud.

More outrage over Obama's lack of any coherent policy on Iran

Ex-Iran Guard commander visits White House with Iraq leader

A former commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, which the FBI says played a role in a 1996 terrorist attack that killed 19 U.S. servicemen, accompanied IraqÂ’s prime minister to the White House on Monday, attending an event at which President Obama trumpeted the end of the Iraq War.

These were Iranian active duty troops who did the Kobar towers attack on U.S. servicemen. This was an act of WAR then and we should have bombed the shit out of ayatollahÂ’s palace and one of their troop bases then. But we had a pussy Democrat then, just like now.  So now our commie President has their boss over for tea and crumpets at the WH.

People looking for where all the money went in the Corazine MF Global scam?

Well $130,000,000 of it went to George Soros. Is it time for some “clawback”? Never happen on this one. Stock trades always involve a profit or a loss, otherwise the trade doesnÂ’t occur.  Soros bought at a depressed price meaning who ever had originally bought at a higher price lost money. The money didnÂ’t “evaporate” into thin air. Whoever sold it to the buyer who then sold it to Soros also made a profit. Now Soros will make a profit

Next target for the assholes in the NLRB? Colt Firearms of CT.

Same story but not at Red State

Colt is moving its operation out of CT to FL, a right to work State. Colt Firearms has been in CT since 1846 when they opened a factory to build the Walker Colt. The question here is will the NLRB intervene? They promised in the settlement with Boeing that they had not abandoned this strategy and this is even more anti-union than the Boeing thing ever thought to be.

70 In an environment where jobs are hard to find, the Obama administration has thrown more than 100,000 health insurance agents and brokers under the bus and given them the gift of an unemployment line just before the holidays.

To make matters worse, a large number of insurance agents, known in the trade as producers, are self-employed and under the prevailing laws may have difficulty receiving unemployment insurance.

It all stems from the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), known colloquially as Obamacare. PPACA dictates that health insurers must spend at least $0.80 of every $1.00 in premiums collected on health care in the individual and small group markets, and $0.85 in the large group market.

He seems like a fairly sharp guy.  I don't agree with him on everything but his arguments tend to be well-reasoned, which I appreciate.

We had a post on that a few weeks ago. My feeling was two parts, one bloggers when reporting the "news" should get the same protections the MFM gets. However, the MFM gets too much protection. The courts have made it virtually impossibe to sue a MFM outlet or a reporter due to the shitty absense of malice ruling from NYT v Sullivan.

Yes, it makes Obama sense that we shouldn't be allowed to criticize or speak the truth about a religion of peace like islam, but we should do everything in our power to stamp out favorable references to a religion of war like Christianity.
After all, why not use the Dept of State for good!

92 Lowry may be right on the facts but his tone pisses me off. When does Newt claim to be "new"? (Except in his personal relationship behavior.) We all know Newt's a powderkeg, and a TR conservative and a dealmaker. Newt will tell you that himself. Lowry talks just like Lefties who figure no one has a brain cell that works without their input.

93 morning all, Vic, how many more sessions do you have? I hope they give you a break over Christmas. A close friend's 16 year old son has a malignant brain tumor that has returned, very aggressively, after his second surgery. His name is Sam, and I would sure appreciate prayers for him. The docs say they can't operate again, and it's up to chemo to help him. I am doing really well, and the pain is receding nicely. And Lord help me, I feel guilty for doing so well, when this precious boy is suffering so. I hate cancer.

Well I don't define socialism that way.  Socialism broadly considered, IMO, is *forced* collectivization of individuals into a community.  For instance, of course I as a conservative will do charitable acts out of kindness and good will, I will even do so willingly along with other like-minded individuals, I would even urge others to do so, but I won't force others to do so.  The socialist, on the other hand, has no problem forcing people to "do charity".

176 Socialism broadly considered, IMO, is *forced* collectivization of individuals into a community.

That is an invention of the MFM and various other leftest organizations. The original definition of socialism was provided by Marx and it was just an intermediate step between capitalism and communism.

In reality, socialism, as the name implies, it is nothing more than use of public funding for public social functions. Social Security is a prime example.

This is as opposed to use of public funding for other projects which are not "social" functions. Stuff such as infrastructure, fire, and police.

We started to became a socialist country in the early 1900s. By the 30s we were well on the way. After LBJ in the 60s we were completely socialist. They are currently working as hard as they can to take the next step to communism.

180 One of the problems with that is that local individual action never seems a grand as a government vision!

It never will, because the government vision is always oversold and overpromises what it can deliver.  We have to be the reality-based community that points out government's epic failures as well as all of the things that the "government visionaries" failed to point out.  For instance, forced charity doesn't make people more charitable, it only makes people more resentful.  Only genuine charity can transform a person into a more charitable individual.  The real socialists don't give a damn about that, they are only interested in material well-being, not spiritual well-being.

Okay, Vic, you originally said "Well, if you define a "socialist" as someone who supports and urges community social programs," without regard to public funding.  So I agree, yes, there is something socialist about what you describe.  Although here too I would make an important qualitative distinction between the guy who wants a minimal social safety  net, and a guy who wants full-blown single-payer health care.

I can see some agreement to that, but it is how we got where we are at today. It is the slippery slope argument that the liberals hate so much because they employ it. Hell even that healthcare law is a prime example of that. The aim is to nationalize healthcare in this country. That is pure communism, but they have designed the law so that the private healthcare system will collapse and the government will take over.

I think he's embarrassed that he had been backing Perry and now all of his gay and liberal friends are giving him shit after that ad.  Gabe's really acting like a person scorned.

For the record (and not that anyone is asking for my opinion, necessarily), I don't really fault Gabe for his approach to "debates."  The fact is, lawyers aren't necessarily good at debate.  That's not their job.  Generally, they're supposed to advocate from a certain position, and it's not really in their interest to acknowledge (or respect) the valid points of their opponents.  The problem can arise when an attorney, outside of work, thinks he is debating when really he's just lawyering.

Picking a night for a work party is hard around here.  Monday nights are "Family Night" so you can't schedule anything.  Wednesday nights tend to be Relief Society or some other organized ward function.  No one (of any stripe) wants to extend a Friday.  So that leaves Tuesdays and Thursdays.

His cross-blog trolling is masterful…for a middle-schooler. He'll start shit elsewhere, and when he gets a stimulated emission of trolltardedness from another commenter, he'll link that comment over here. Where the dipshit troll falls on his ass is in the ideological equivalent of the Stroop effect. He cannot ignore anything that conflicts with the pillars of his collectivist belief system, so he will go down a rabbit hole defending it.
