The President's Christmas trip and vacation will cost the taxpayers at least $4 million.
Ron Paul claimed that Michele Bachmann hates Muslims.
Gingrich has some odd ideas about the separation of powers.

Well we know that Chiquita brands now deals in watermelon instead of bananas
ForestEthics, a nonprofit that works to protect endangered forests in the United States and Canada, said Thursday that Chiquita agreed to stop using fuel derived from oil sands, often called “tar sands” by environmental groups, to ship its bananas.
That is the stupidest statement I have heard since the last time Obama opened his pie-hole. Just how in the hell do they “filter” out the gasoline from oil sands vs other? And what in the hell is an “endangered forest”? There are more acres covered in forest now than there was at the turn of the 20th century in 1900.
So who is ForestEthics? From their web site:
ForestEthics is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization incorporated under the laws of the State of California in 1999. In Canada, ForestEthics is a project of Tides Canada Initiatives who have full governing, legal, and fiduciary responsibility for the project.
Tides huh, I hope everyone knows who that is. Direct link to commie Soros. But they are protecting us from AGW.

Will Smith marital discord caused by kids.
The A-list couple's marriage became strained over disagreements on how to manage the careers of their ultra-talented children, 13-year-old Jaden and 11-year-old Willow, TMZ.com reported.
I donÂ’t normally get
involved in the Hollywood scene and gossip but I thought this one was worth
mentioning. It seems that they have a
“row” going over the kid’s careers. Will wants more Hollywood exposure for them
and wifey wants to dial it back with less.
Hey Will (if you read this), based on what we have been seeing lately with Hollywood child actors wifey is right. Not only dial it back, but also pull a Paul Newman and move your family OUT of Hollywood.

Euro-commies want £25B from GB.
Hahahahhaha, will GB issue
T-Bills and have the Bank of England buy them? When I was a kid one pound
sterling was about 2.5 dollars. Even with the U.S. devaluing the dollar the
pound has sunk faster than the dollar. It is now about 1.5 dollars to the
pound. That is what socialism does.
Yes, you have ran out of other people's money.

Personally I donÂ’t think so. And even if it is, it is too little too late. For them the collapse is inevitable and has only been held off so far by printing money, either there or here.
We should be learning a lesson on this but as long as the news media is made up of Communists the public at large will never learn.

Washington Examiner doubles down on Newt attacks
Conservatives should think twice about Newt - Part IIHere is their key:
In between those editorials, of course, came The Examiner's endorsement of Romney, a conclusion we reached because we think nothing is more important in 2012 than denying President Obama a second termÂ…Â….
They have gone the electability route despite the fact that not a single vote has been cast yet. I donÂ’t like Newt but I donÂ’t like Romney worse. I figure they are about equally electable.

It is unless they say "extreme right" which is code for Neo-Nazi. The socialists consider Fascism to be "right wing". The very terms left and right came from France during the period around the French Revolution where conservatives sat on the "right side of the chamber".

Gingrich is banking on his scheme being well-received by voters angry at how often judges rule without considering whether their decisions have majority support at how often judges rule without considering whether their decisions are even remotely constitutional or not or if they fall within the authority that the Founders designated for the judiciary.
There. I think this will hurt Gingrich, but let's be clear on why people hate the federal judiciary. It's from them acting like little black-robed dictators and ignoring the Constitution, not this "majority support" bullshit.

Unfortunately, the Founding Fathers never realized that without some sort of check or balance, the Supremes would suck up as much power as possible, ruling that a man can't grow wheat for his own consumption or that a city has the right to take a persons private property and turn it over to commercial developers (that then go out of business, and the city turns the property into a dump).
My early social studies classes used to teach that the Legislative branch passes the laws, the Executive branch enforces the laws, and the Judicial branch decides the Constitutionality of the laws. Now the Legislative branch tries to spend as much money as possible, the Executive branch ignores laws it doesn't like (illegal immigration, for example) or breaks those laws (Fast and Furious), and the Judicial branch is creating their own laws out of whole cloth (busing and abortion).
I think we need to start over again, throwing them all out and going back to the beginning. But the American people are too stupid for that to ever happen.

B/c of Hitch, they are now free to roam the earth with rational intelligence and proudly proclaim "this is it".

Teachers in Texas hate Rick Perry. I think it's in their contract, or something...
Seriously, Rick Perry has been a very, very vocal proponent of private- or home-schooling, and has not been shy at all at "cutting" Education spending (this is the first year he's actually "cut" it, but they scream every time he fights for (and normally gets) a reduction from whatever the Texas Board of Education requested for funding in a given budget year).

Banana peel and leaf have some important ecology and conservation applications. Wouldn't you think that if they needed some PR (which they do, and always have), they'd go to work on those? Nah.

Write a letter to the editor in the form of a 5 paragraph essay discussing a current environmental issue and how Emerson would have seen it."
I told him to write that Emerson, ahead of his time, would, today, recognize that nuclear power was clean, efficient, renewable, and safe. Yucca Mountain is an ideal site for storage and Emerson would have been lobbying congress to restore the site plan. Fukishima was an abberation because it was not built the coast in a Tsunami zone. Emerson with his love of ponds would have appreciated the nuclear reactor's ability to produce endless amounts of potable water. etc.
Now I'm trying to decide whether to complain to the nun who is the superintendant about the liberalism in this damn school.

Of course, if they're really telling the truth: if they'd been Christian before reading his columns and then converted atheism, then, according to my Bible, "It would be better for him to have a mill-stone tied around his neck," etc., etc.

Agreed. That is the main stumbling block when dealing with the ultimate questions; the empirical path is not the path to stick with in dealing with someone that transcends the path.

Unfortunately, that is the view held. I know b/c my office mate holds it; it doesn't matter what he knows to be true; anything negative against him has to be ( in fine knee jerk action) due to his race and not to his quality of work.
I waited for him to rip the Turner Gil firing at Kansas b/c he was didn't get a fair shake being black and all when we discussed it. To his credit, he said Gil deserved to be fired due to his record. However, in the same breath, he will not hold Holder and Bambi's record up as enough evidence to fire them.

02/02/2012 In the coming New Year, 2012, both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union address will occur on the same day.
This is an ironic juxtaposition of events.
One involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to an insignificant creature of little intelligence for prognostication.
The other involves a groundhog.

Send her the link to that New Republic article in which they called Perry a higher education visionary.
I realize it's about higher ed, not secondary ed, but maybe she'll get some perspective.

Can anybody explain to me what Boehner is doing?
When I heard he was unhappy with the Senate's two-month extension of the payroll tax holiday, I presumed Boehner wanted to end it, not extend it a full year. (Isn't that what Obama wants?)
Does he just not want to deal with it until after the election? (I imagine that's probably the answer.)

Hahaha. Radio newsbreak just said that Kim Jung I'll's official cause of death was "a heart attack brought on by overwork".

@83: "Remember that movie about a group of Judges that sanction extra judicial executions? Just saying..."
Yeahh...They're in emergency session right now...something about an uppity Presidential candidate. The Burning Man will have to wait.
What do you think the odds are that this sick f**k has been lurking around Zuccotti Park for the last few months?
