24 Found some useful info regards to WI recall elections.... Circulating the Recall Petition Circulation of the recall petition must be completed within 60 days after registration. The completed petition must be returned to the original filing officer no later than 5:00 p.m. on the 60th day from the date of registration. Any signature dated before this 60 day period is invalid. Preparation and Circulation of Recall Petitions After the signatures are obtained the certification must be completed by the circulator. Specific requirements of the circulator are: The circulator must list his or her full address, including municipality of residence, and street and number, if any, or rural route. The circulator must sign and date the certification after they have obtained the signatures. The person signing as circulator must have personally circulated the petition and personally obtained each of the signatures on the paper. The circulator must state that he or she is aware that falsifying the certification is illegal. Review of Petition by Filing Officer Within 31 days after the petition (with signatures) is submitted to the filing officer, he or she has 31 days to determine the sufficiency of the petition and also that it meets all necessary requirements. Following this review, the filing officer must attach to the petition either a certificate of sufficiency or of insufficiency, allowing at least 10 days for the officeholder being recalled to file any challenge. If the petition is considered sufficient, the filing officer will submit it to the appropriate local governing body, which will then immediately call a recall election to be held on the Tuesday of the 6th week after the date on which the clerk issued the certificate of sufficiency.

Sat down to eat a Hardy sausage biscuit and catch first morn news while eating. F&F having one of their infamous fair and balanced debates.

On oil prices....wait for it.....run up on oil and gas prices is due to GD EVIL OIL COMPANIES. There is no reason for increase in prices.

The "R" babe did mention the permits in the gulf that the interior dept had been found in contempt and was still defying the court order. Somehow that little item has been overlooked by the news media.

I know the judge had issued a second order but the last I saw he had not called in the contempt yet.

Boeing wins $35 billion air tanker refuler contract.

Boeing (Chicago,Ill) (imagine that) gets the multi-billion contract over Northrop Grumman.  The contract has been contested several times.

1st. Boeing won in 2004.  Wait.  The contract fell apart because of an ethics scandal that resulted in prison terms for a former senior Boeing executive and a former high-ranking Air Force offical.

2nd. Northrop Grumman won.  Wait.  Boeing filed a protest.  So we get a do-over that was in fact a political scam as a result of Boeing throwing millions of dollars around and getting help from their political allies.  One of which is Senator Patty Murray (D. Washington), where the air tanker is to be built.  The classy Senator Murray got herself on National Public Radio and slammed Alabama workers (where Northrop Grumman was going to build their air tanker) "I callenge anybody to tell me that they've stood on a line in Alabama and seen anybody building anything."  Of course this just showes the stupid-ass bitch doesn't know what she's talking about but with enough time and money..

3rd. Boeing wins.  - it's the Chicago way.

46 House panel's bill would end foreclosure program
By ALAN FRAM , 02.24.11, AP (Forbes)

More fodder for whole cloth smears come 2012. The Democrats/Obama establish a "compassionate" program of fraud. The program is declared a fraud, having failed to achieve aid to any
"economically challenged" mortgage owners. Rather, bureaucrats absorb all of the tax funds that Congress knowingly appropriated for the program to benefit insiders. Republicans terminate the program. Campaign vitriol smears fiscal conservatives as spiteful, vicious voters with antipathy for the poor. So we must nip that in the bud, campaigning already on the facts proving the Democrat-socialists' vicious spite for all Americans who've been robbed of those tax funds, pirated by the Democrat swine. Compassion is a pearl of great price, not to be squandered on swine that turn and rend you. In the hands of politics and government, all things corrupt. So don't feed the Beast pearls. Keep taxes at the local level, not delivered to Washington to be consumed by corruption.

Everyone remember that RNC meeting several months back that set primary dates the same again?

Well FL still refuses to change theirs from Jan 29 where they had moved it up, so get ready for another primary war. This caused SC to lose half their delegates last time.  If FL refuses to move their SC will not move theirs.

This will give the RINOs even more delegates because the first 3 primaries are the ONLY ones that will have the new proportional delegate counts. FL is still in the list for winner take all.

Of course the only reason they want statehood is for a voting seat in the House and two automatic D Senators. Take everything left over and return it to the original States from which it came. Remove the so-called non-voting DC Reps and their racket.

Either that or set up a new federal enclave in the geographic center of the country. Return all of DC to the States. And finally, make it illegal to have permanent residency in the new federal enclave.

God speed relief. We certainly hope that Americans and international aid organizations have responded immediately to aid the hospitalization and medical attention for the massive injuries in the NZ quakes.

And if our Navy has ships nearby, they should have immediately responded with aide to the NZ emergency, CinC/JointChiefs/Admirals. Where is the Potus expression of "compassion" or at least concern? Motown.

The U.S. president phoned David Cameron, Nicolas Sarkozy and Silvio Berlusconi to express his 'deep concern' over Colonel Gaddafi's use of violence which he said 'violates every standard of human decency'.

There were unconfirmed reports this afternoon that protesters were fired on by Gaddafi troops as they demonstrated in the Western suburbs of Tripoli.

But before making the urgent phone call, Mr Obama hosted a concert featuring stars including Nick Jonas, Seal and John Legend, to celebrate Black History Month at the White House

At least Barry has his priorities straight

Some relatives of those who are still stuck on the catamaran trying to escape Tripoli harbour and in oil-field camps inside the country might take some exception to the revelry at the White house last night to celebrate Motown music.

How can they? There was no mention of Barry's partying in the US press

There's a rumor going around my little area that the private unions offered to pay their members one or two hundred bucks to take the day off their job and go protest in Columbus, oh last week.  Have you guys heard this?  We have lots of auto unions around here, so I assume the skuttlebutt is on the up and up.

130 Case at February 25, 2011 07:58 AM (0K+Kw)

Case, Grumman was fronting for Airbus, The planes were just to be modified as tankers in the usa.

1. The first ethics scandal was real.
2. I followed the second round, and airbus won under very sketchy circs. In a nutsack, the RFP was was too restrictive and there were no competitors. Airbus made this an issue, so they expanded the spec to allow larger planes (more capacity, less versatility.) Airbus won because -- "more capacity." Boeing was right in complaining this time.
I have seen no evidence, but i am convinced that those slimy airbus corruptocrats were buying our officials the same way they buy the arab and asian officials. That company (state) lives on the soft power of bribery. That is their competitive advantage.

3. I didn't follow this last round.

Yes, they did. I never understood why Virginia got their chunk of D.C. back like that. It destroyed the whole symbolism of the design of Washington, that had the Capitol in the dead center of the square-shaped district.

Three reasons mainly. The feds passed a law saying that fed buildings could only be built on the MD side, Virginia was a slave state and Alexandria a market which pissed off the abolitionists--they wanted to ban it and would have trouble with part of the fed city sitting in Va, and they weren't using it and letting it fall into disrepair hurting the local economy. Va is like, "If you're not going to fucking use it and are going to let it turn into a mess then just give it back." Thank god they did. There would be nothing worse than to have that sewer actually touching Va. We'd be in the same shape as Maryland with the notorious Prince George's drive-by shooting crack county.

According to GEÂ’s own Web site, in 2005, GE employed 160,000 U.S. workers. By 2009 that fell to 138,000. Meanwhile non-U.S. jobs gradually increased from below 160,000 in 2005 to about 170,000 in 2008. But in 2009, the figures dropped below 160,000 jobs again.

Vic, bret baer has a story on this.

It looks like Florida will compromise, but it wants to the fifth state to vote. I am betting that the RNC accomadates them. You can't alienate a swing state that is essential to a republican win in 2012.

Of course the only reason they want statehood is for a voting seat in the House and two automatic D Senators. There seems to be a big push on this recently and coupled with the resources they are dumping into Wisconsin I am wondering if the shock of the last year has the Democrats far more worried than they're letting on.

But New Zealand is not "our ally." They withdrew from the ANZUS treaty in 1987 by banning the US Navy from their ports, because of US policy of not announcing whether vessels were nuclear-armed or not, and they are a nuclear-free zone. Recently this policy has been re-discussed (see "gone by lunchtime," a running joke there) but things were not looking too good for the bad old US. Maybe if we help enough they'll recall the past relationship more fondly.

On Boing, I'm sure she is happy to know that Boing is building a factory for their latest commercial aircraft in SC even as SC has hired the big guns to fight the unions who are suing.

But what really aggravates me about the Air Bus BS was why they were even allowed to bid to begin with. When I was young it was U.S. law that ALL defense contracts had to be let to U.S. firms unless there were no U.S. firms that built the stuff.

Tami, hubby says Fox River socks.

Their web site is foxsox .com.

Everybody, you can send some of their socks to our troops:

You can send socks and a personalized note of support right here via our website.  If you have a soldier you want to support, simply place an order via our website.  If the shipping address is an APO or FPO, Fox River will cover the cost of shipping.  (Choose Free Option).

Go to their site and in the middle of the page it says "support our troops in a practical way".

You should ready Max Hastings book "Nemsis". It's about the Pacific war. He is extremely harsh on the Aussies. He goes into some detail about how they became more of a problem than a help after 1943, with their unions striking and preventing needed war materials from being shipped.  After 1941, it was clear America would do the heavy lifting and they let us do so.

He doesn't disparage the Aussie troops who fought well and honorably in Europe and the Pacific, actually he compliments them, but he he's a bit more honest and less nice when it comes to their domestic population and government

And it is changing although not saying how quickly or widespread... "Modern cell-based vaccines are similar to flu shots in terms of pain and side effects. The old nerve-tissue-based vaccinations that require multiple painful injections into the abdomen with a large needle are cheap, but are being phased out and replaced by affordable WHO ID (intradermal) vaccination regimens."

The communist unions were instrumental in banning the loading of ships here during WW11- and this is STILL a big issue here - because we have a rabid left/Greenie government here at present, the issues of communist interference in Australian affairs during WW11 are still very much discussed

Aussie, that's interesting.  Hastings made a point of it, how it was dumbfounding that a nation could do such a thing when the enemy was right at their door in Papau New Guiena and Indonesia.

It's something those commie unions should never be able to live down. American involvement after 1941 is the only thing that kept the Aussie from becoming an unwilling member of the Greater East Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere.

Austrialia had committed man and material to Europe to help the brits so they didn't have adequate forces to defend themselves.(not that it would have mattered, it was unlikely anyone could stop the Japanese Juggernaught in the early years of the war. The only reason the Chinese could slow them down is because they had more bodies than the Japs had bullets) And with the british occupied in Europe, they would not have been able to offer much more than a token force to help Austrailia.

Typical panty-waist liberal judge - denying justice to the victims of crime and coddling the criminal trash.  I don't care what the motivation was for the crime - it was beyond perverse.  If there were any justice the dog would be put up to the wall and shot.  What if he'd had some disease?  The judge responsible for this travesty should be forced to injest the objectional substance himself, just as that poor woman did, so that he might learn to value the well being of the law abiding over that of the criminal.

At that time when the Japanese were at our doorstep, our PM refused the Brit's request for more troops for Europe - troop carriers headed for Europe were turned back because the Japanese were heading south to Australia and the PM knew he had to do this before we were invaded - he defied the Brits

It's a very interesting time in history to research - especially the part the openly communist unions played in betraying their country

Last April, President Obama hosted an unprecedented gathering of representatives from 47 nations, to discuss what he described as "the single biggest threat to U.S. security, both short-term, medium-term and long-term"--the prospect of a terrorist group acquiring a nuclear weapon.

But less than a year later, proposed budget cuts could badly hamper America's ability to counter that threat. Nuclear-security experts are expressing alarm about the potential impact of steep cuts to the country's nuclear nonproliferation program--as well as intense frustration at what they see as the White House's failure so far to push back against the cuts. Critics say rolling back nonproliferation funding could undermine a cornerstone of Obama's foreign-policy agenda.

But a previous Buchanan, recommissioned Campbelltown, in the hands of Brit Commandos, blew the living shit out of St. Nazaire harbor in 1942. It's all about the harbor rights, innit.

Communist unions were very active in the US during WWII, also. "We" don't like to discuss it. North American Aviation was on strike while building the Mustang for Britain. The union president was handed a note mid-speech, telling him Hitler had invaded USSR, and he changed allegiances mid-sentence.

Japanese unionists neutralized Brazil, and had a shot at taking all of S.America for the Axis. There is no bottom.

It was the only place I visited on the Enterprise (yes a Nuke Power ship) where I felt like the people were glad to see Americans.

We visited Hobart and I couldn't pay for a beer in a pub. A couple took me home from the pub for a home cooked meal. On my last night there I tried to get up and go do some shopping for some souvenirs.

They wouldn't even let me do that. A guy gave me his driver's license for a souvenir. I never made it to NZ but Austrailia and Australians will ALWAYS have a place in my heart.

Tami, no the poor bloke was not looked after very well by our Army

He killed himself  2 years ago - his death was subject to an official inquiry and my stepdaughter had to sit through days of awful testimony

He came back after his last tour a mess - he witnessed an atrocity with an IED and sadly this was too much

The worst thing - the Army here did not look after him - he was supposed to be on suicide watch but he was admitted to a mental health facility and the staff there were not told to lock him up, so within  hours of his admission he left, booked into a hotel in the city and hung himself

He was the youngest graduate from our military academy and he was a top bloke- it is with great sadness I write this because he had many trips to Afghanistan and was OK but that last trip did him in....

LOL, we had to anchor way out in the harbor. (Something we always have to do at all the foreign ports because very few docks were big enough for us).

But we did have open house while there. There were long long lines (ques?) to get off and even longer lines to get back on. I think they said we were getting 5,000 visitors a day during the official visiting hours.

On July 4th 1976 an Aussie destroyer was in San Francisco for our Bicentennial celebration. A bunch of us put on our old style dress blues and rode over there to meet up with them at a big bar on Union Street. We took over the bar.

They played Waltzing Matilda on their P.A. system over and over. The young girls waiting the tables had most of our uniforms before the night was over and wearing them.

I literally crawled out of the place at 2:00 a.m. to get on my motorcycle. There was a S.F. cop standing next to it when I got there. Needless to say he wasn't going to let me on it. Would have been a tough drive across the bay bridge on a bike while drunker than the old hooty owl. Had to get a ride from someone else and come back and get it the next day.

I still remember that day even though I got drunker than "stuff".

We didn't mind it. Especially while overseas. There is nothing like seeing ladies aboard ship when you have been out for months without seeing any. The only thing was the crowded passageways which wasn't bad (rubbing on those ladies as you squeezed by) and we had to post an extra watch up at the entrance to the ladders (stairs) going down into the engine rooms which were classified and off limits.

Anyway. time for me to go. The weather has cleared off now and it is warm and sunny. Time to put down all that fertilizer I purchased early this morning.

Read the article carefully and you will notice some pretty screwy assertions (regarding football referee's black and white striped uniforms making them nearly invisible to onlookers, leading to players running into them, and regarding prisoners escaping from Folsom Prison during Johnny Cash's performance, again because somehow they were invisible due to their striped uniforms). Snopes is dead to me as a source now, if this is the kind of shite they are stooping to.
