Demoncrap PR rag attacks SC voter ID bill on costs

They will stop at nothing. One also wonders where they came up with these costs estimates. Probably from the same stupid people that said repealing Obamacare would cost money.

I predict that it will cost little or NOTHING. Most people already have some kind of picture ID because in this day and age you simply can not exist without one.

10 Speaking of Charleston, anybody remember a hot dog joint they had there in the '80s? They left the string inside the hot dog and you had to eat around it. Their logo looked like a barber from the 1890's. Been trying to remember the name for years.

Seems to me that they are being punished for sending that letter.  Hopefully,  it will stir more resentment within the White House press corps and get them off their butts to start reporting what's going on.

Jeffrey M. Wice, a Democratic redistricting attorney, said states also will have to decide whether to consider citizenship when drawing political lines. Many lower federal courts have ruled that citizenship data should be used if available to determine whether a minority voting bloc has been unduly weakened — an issue that could mix already intense redistricting fights with contentious immigration politics.

Why is this an issue?  Citizenship is the only fucking thing that should be considered.

Demoncraps are the ones who pushed through counting illegals for census purposes. Now they are trying to get it into the redistricting plans.

That is because the States who are gaining seats are primarily red States. This latest is the opening shot for Holder to hold up redistricting in the Southern States.

Another rhetorical question about the liars in the MFM

This one regarding GOP plans to shutdown the EPA's foray in CO2 regulation.

Republicans want to go further and take away the EPA authority that was granted by a 2007 court ruling.

That is a bullshit lie that they repeatedly push out there. That BS 5-4 ruling did NOT give the EPA any damn authority and it did not tell them to regulate CO2.

It told them if the elected not to they had to present evidence. Just like they are supposed to present real evidence that regulation is required.

So far the EPA has presented zero evidence. They quote UN and studies which have been shown to be totally fraudulent.

The current EPA regulators should all be in JAIL.

Thursday’s cold conditions could bring more rolling blackouts — stopping electric service to about 90,000 customers at a time for brief intervals — to ease the load on most of the state’s electric grid.

Conservation is critical to help avoid the outages, officials said, and some 50 Texas power plants failed late Tuesday as customers cranked heat to battle this seasonÂ’s coldest temperatures.

But hey, it's all of 2 degrees where my mom lives, wind chill of -18 and I'm sure it's colder up the mountain that that in-town temp.

Must have some real cold there is they are outstripping supply from TX.

They say 50 power plants have failed from the cold there but can't tell whether they failed from being "overloaded" or from other problems.

It probably wasn't "overload" though because that would have resulted in the whole grid in that area going down which is probably why you have rolling blackouts now.

One thing that happens during extreme cold that most people are not aware of is the problems that it causes power plants, particularly in the South where they are built in an open building.

Important systems and sensors freeze up if not handled properly with heat tracing and/or manual actions. In a lot of cases if a sensor that is designed to protect the plant freezes up it will cause the plant to trip off the line.

47 I probably used the wrong word.  They are tribunals.  Yes, I don't remember which one was used to go after Mark Steyn, as there is a Human Rights outfit in every province, as well as a Federal one, if memory serves.  They were supposed to be a low cost way of sorting out housing and job discrimination.  However, these laws were very poorly written, with almost no protection for the defendant.  They have been seriously abused by individuals like Richard Warren, for whom it was a get rich scheme.

Ezra Levant has been running a campaign to 'de-legitimatise them.  These tribunals act like bandits, preying on those without the resources to fight back, demoralising them into accepting the blatant injustices that they are suffering.

I hope this decision encourages more victims of these rackets to fight back.

60 MamaAJ; I found this from an NBC story in TX.

Rolling blackouts surprised many residents Wednesday. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas said they were needed to compensate for a generation shortage due to numerous plant trips that have occurred because of the extreme weather. Officials said more blackouts were possible Thursday.

If the trips were caused by sensors freezing they should be back on line fairly quickly. Also, it sounds like they need to contact some utilities in other areas in the South that experience extreeme cold more often to learn how to set up cold weather programs to prevent these kinds of things.

68 Palin put the term "death panel" in quotes to indicate that she was using it figuratively. She was not lying but doing just the opposite: conveying a fundamental truth about ObamaCare. Proponents were describing it as a sort of fiscal perpetual-motion machine: We're going to give free insurance to tens of millions of people and reduce the deficit! As a matter of simple arithmetic, the only way to do that is by drastically curtailing medical benefits.

From the Taranto piece about how the Alaskan Snowbilly kneecapped Mr. Eleven-Dimensional Chess' signature health care "reform" legislation and won the PR war.

The local Dem PR rags have hinted that because most of the growth in the SC population has occurred on the coast near Myrtle Beach most of the new district will be carved out of that on.

That is the district that Scott just won (black Republican). The SC legislature is heavy Republican and I fully expect them to push for a district that maximizes Repuiblican advantage.

I also expect the NAACP to file a suit as soon as the plans are released and I fully expect that Holder will hold up the plans until after the 2012 elections when we can boot his crooked ass out.

What I would like to see is SCOTUS to finally declare Section V of the VRA unconstitutional.

Plenty of damage especially to agricultural areas (mainly sugarcane and bananas) and houses destroyed but no injuries - although two blokes are missing - apparently they were trying to move a yacht to creek last night and haven't been heard of since

Of course our beloved Greenies are a bit miffed because they were counting on massive death and destruction so they could blabber on about frigging global warming BS

And of course the MSM had every second reporter and TV host up there breathlessly waiting for disaster - best moment - a TV morning show host decked out in wet weather gear, acting as if he was in mortal danger (this morning AFTER the storm had gone through), while behind him a bloke in shorts and singlet was casually walking his dog

Hope the link works and someone is still here to read it!

Yeah, see the border is an uncontrolled mess.  Drugs and illegals stream across it from the Mexican side and DHS is letting it happen.  We need to be stopping things from getting in.   Focusing on guns is the absolute wrong approach and isn't going to secure the border.  Drug dealers, with their billions of dollars, high-tech surveillance, and drug smuggling submarines, are going to get the guns they need.

Border Patrol agents will get shot as long as they are underfunded and the border is ignored.

Yeh. I think they think they are handling it well with the rolling blackouts. We'll see what news trickles out. My mom heard that, esp. with the smaller electrical co-op providers, if they had a problem and went down, ERCOT wouldn't let them come back up. Harvey said the PEC relied upon the media and their website to get the word out about the blackouts, citing that the company did not have an automated phone system capable of alerting customers, some of whom reported to the Highlander that they had lost major electrical appliances when the disconnected power was restored.

...

Harvey added “members should turn in any claims to the insurance company that covers their home or business,” indicating that PEC’s policy states is not liable for losses suffered as the result of an outage.

However, appliances lost as a result of a man-made power outage such as a rolling blackout are not covered by a homeowners insurance company, said Kyle Stripling, owner of Galloway Insurance, which has offices in Burnet, Horseshoe Bay and Marble Falls.

It was either Tim Blair or Andrew Bolt pointing out that the Greenies have stopped the building of dams and levees etc. that would have mitigated or alleviated the effects of the flooding because they were pushing the "Australia is going to forever be in drought because of Global Warming" lie.

And take care, china.
