The editor-in-chief of the Yemen Post, Hakim Almasmari, says that he believes Yemeni President SalehÂ’s 32-year reign will end within the next 24 hours. A top military leader has turned on him and ordered his forces to protect the protesters. Unless Saleh is able to fight a civil war, the leader will soon be gone, and an opening for Iranian proxies, the Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda, will be created.
Almasmari says that at least 18 of the strongest military commanders have joined the opposition and up to 90 percent of all the military is no longer loyal to Saleh. “The military have made it clear that a national emergency government will be announced,” he said.

The two crew members on the F-15E fighter jet ejected to safety. One has already been recovered by US forces, who say they are in the process of rescuing the other.
It is understood that at least one of the crew members was initially rescued by rebel Libyan soldiers after ejecting from the aircraft.
The crashed plane was discovered by a Telegraph journalist reporting in and around Benghazi, the rebel-held city.
It is thought the F-15E fighter jet came to ground after suffering a mechanical failure.
The US military confirmed that one of its jets had crash landed but said that it had not been shot down.

The aircraft, based out of Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England, was flying out of Aviano Air Base in support of Operation Odyssey Dawn at the time of the incident.
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
The identities will be released after the next of kin have been notified.
Joint Task Force Odyssey Dawn is the U.S. Africa Command task force established to provide operational and tactical command and control of U.S. military forces supporting the international response to the unrest in Libya and enforcement of United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1973. UNSCR 1973 authorizes all necessary measures to protect civilians in Libya under threat of attack by Qadhafi regime forces.

Interesting that there's little "new" news about Fukushima Daiichi. Power is well established across most of the plant, and pump operations are being restarted, w/the worst damage @ spent fuel container #2. Still a great deal of work to do, but connecting to electrical power "turned a corner" in efforts to bring it all under control.

The design basis tsunami for the site was 5.7 meters, and the reactors and backup power sources were located 10 to 13 meters above sea level. The company reported that the maximum earthquake for which the Fukushima Daiichi plants were designed was magnitude 8. The quake that struck March 11 was magnitude 9.

I found out a little bit more of the inside story on the "rogue" Stryker force. Let's just say: they are guilty but there are some pretty big rationalizations (mainly to do with the ROE and when winning hearts and minds goes bad), and those innocent civilians were not really all that innocent (or at least a goodly portion of them, which had helped get a bunch of our guys killed, plus a bunch of actual friendlies...who did get mutilated...they don't usually release a lot of those pictures to the folks back home; it'd ruin the meme).
Of course, none of this will make the papers, none of it will come out. We have to think all the people over there are in reality angels with dirty faces, and we are just cads for wanting to hurt them.
Sometimes in the face of all this people can go mad, perhaps? Yeah, I think perhaps they can.

Steyn often makes the point that liberals love multiculturalism as long as they don't have to actually learn about other cultures. I know quite a few Indians, but I learned some things from the show.
The actors are all Americans or Brits, BTW.
I think liberals don't know how to handle Indians. They aren't the typical poor country. They're a functional culture that doesn't live on resentments of the West and are building their own future with economic growth.
And, frankly, it's about time that Indians start playing a more visible role in American culture. Muslims get all the attention because their co-religionists are willing to blow stuff up, but nobody pays attention to Hindus (even Buddhists get Hollywood attention) or any other Asian minority. We have two Americans of Indian descent in governors' houses in the South (GOP, BTW) and the Indian-American communities have just lived their lives and done nothing more than participate in American life.

The Outsourced article was nice to read. I love the show. It just shows the paternalism of the Left. The show doesn't make fun of Indians at all. Just the opposite. The non-Indians are generally less sympathetic and even the "hero" is portrayed as ignorant but well-meaning.
Honestly, the only stereotype I've seen on the show is the character Charlie Davies (played by Diedrich Brader) as the loud American redneck type.
