— Gabriel Malor Year after year, science finds explanations, scientific reasons behind all the legends. They think this proves history was not as myth has shown it, but in fact it proves that all the myths were true.

Canadian fighter jets have bombed an ammunition depot in northern Libya in the first attacks by Canadian aircraft in the campaign to enforce a no-fly zone.
Thanks, guys.
Now, if we could just figure out which rock our Arab League friends are hiding under, we could maybe get them to help too. They could fly overhead shouting Allahu Ackbar to give the whole thing that special local flavor.

More CA bonedness in the news:
The public appetite for a special election also seems to be on the wane. Fifty-one percent of respondents said they wanted one; in January, two-thirds said they welcomed an opportunity to vote on Brown's proposal. The governor promised voters during his campaign last year that they could sign off on any tax hikes.
The survey suggests that even if Brown manages to hold a special election, selling the taxes to the public will not be easy. Ballot measures with less than 50% support before a campaign begins typically fail.
This is an attempt to extend tax hikes. Sounds like it is about time for unions to call out the goon squads and get cracking.

The United States is the biggest funder of a U.N. program that helps countries to develop civilian nuclear technologies. Despite “dual-use” proliferation concerns, the program’s beneficiaries include Iran and Syria.
The Government Accountability Office has for years recommended that the U.S. government, as a result of those proliferation concerns, withhold a proportion of its funding to the program, but the State Department strongly opposes the move, arguing among other things that the U.S. must set a good example to other countries “by paying its contribution in full and on time.”

I believe we need a new way forward, a new approach in North Africa, and Obama needs to suck it up and accept that his failure of leadership in the Libyan War begs for outside intervention and assistance.
Where's the The Iraq Libya Study Group Report?
At this critical juncture, marred by confusion and stagnation, it behooves Congress to mandate an in depth bipartisan assessment of the Obama Administration's blundering foreign policy and misplaced military strategy as we struggle to hold together this faltering coalition and achieve our Nobel objectives.
Do it! Do it now!

The self proclaimed intellectual elitists at NPR hate sports. They will do the occasional character story on an athlete who has broken a world record or some other highly unusual event but conventional sports coverage is not what they do. When sports is the topic of discussion what you will most often hear is the bombastic refrain about how destructive and shallow American culture is to spend so much money on barbaric spectator sports while the fine arts are starving. Obama has again this year very publicly made his predictions for the NCAA playoffs. By doing so he has caused the people at NPR to cover the college basketball games instead of ignoring them and to do it earnestly instead of ironically.
That is the leadership of Barack Obama.

Mountains out of mole hills.
A mother's reason why "good citizenship" Girl Scouts sell cookies from home against city ordinance in Hazelwood, Mo:
"They’re getting to know the value of money, and how to keep people from ripping you off.”
Our local girl scouts get permission from WalMart or grocery stores to set up outside the doors for sales. Individually, they hit on their teachers and family friends, and parents do sales from the office for their girls. Hard nosed homeowners associations have a stickler reputation. Imagine living in a town that prohibits any business conducted from one's home office. You'd think there might be a way to approach this City Council in advance for a cookie waiver, or a lemonade stand, before the bitchy neighbor with the barking dog files an anonymous complaint. How many weeks are involved in the cookie sales campaign? Anyway, the cookie sales benefit the cookie manufacturer and the Girl Scouts national administration more than any local club or single scout with the highest sales. So the mom isn't actually correct about teaching her girl how to keep from being ripped off by others, encouraging gung-ho participation in a pyramid scheme designed "for the children".

A senior member of al Qaida urged Libyan rebels to continue their fight against Muammar Gaddafi and warned of the consequences of defeat, in a videotaped message posted on Jihadi websites, the Qatar-based Gulf News reported on Sunday.
The message from Libya native, Abu Yahya al-Libi, marked the first time a top ranked al Qaida commander had commented on the uprising in Libya. Gaddafi has repeatedly blamed al Qaida for inciting the unrest against him.

Returning from a five-day trip to Latin America, video shows the president strolling up to french doors at the White House and trying the handle on a locked door. He appeared to be whistling as he made his way down to another set of doors that were open.

Harrison was a retired food-service worker. John Rundlof, his stepson, told KRIV-TV of Houston that Harrison "was an avid Republican and just took that to the grave with him." Rundlof said Harrison wrote the appeal for donations to Obama opponents himself before he died.

Openly gay Republican Fred Karger announces 2012 presidential run
Barely hours after filing his intent with the FEC to run for the 2012 Republican nomination for president, Fred Karger stopped by Washington Unplugged to formally announce his decision.
Speaking with CBS News congressional correspondent Nancy Cordes Karger said, "I've filed to run for President of the United States." (watch above)
Explaining what brought him to this moment Karger said, "It was the culmination of a lifetime of political work. It was a very exciting moment."
This is the first time Karger has run for political office, but he has been a behind-the-scenes player for 35 years -- serving as an advisor to Presidents Ford, Reagan and George H. W. Bush.

"Being a gay Republicans is kind of an oxymoron," he said, "I have been a fighter in my party, I have always been on the more moderate side but I'm also a prot?g? of Lee Atwater. We need to open up this party and that's one of my reasons for running. The party should not be dominated by one faction or another. It should be open to all."
Karger also added, "I want to be a different kind of Republican. The kind of Republican I grew up with. I consider myself to be Progressive. The last Progressive Republican president was over 100 years ago; Theodore Roosevelt."
Whomever was writing the article apparently didn't know how to spell protege, prot?g?....wtf.

The chicks get fed about every hour right now, so there are plenty of chances to catch a feeding through the day. If you catch a big feed you can see them go into fish coma and keel over for nap time.

Ok, I called them and asked about their 'Design you own banner' software not working. He suggested I try through IE and the little booger worked. So now I need to find the right HB image to download. Anyone have any suggestions?

Tami, an old guy was on his deathbed. He calls his son in and tells him he wants to change his voter registration to Democrat. His son says "Dad, you've been a Republican all your life. Why change now?" The old man replies, "I just figure if someone has to die, it may as well be one of them."

Tami, I liked the pic that was up yesterday with HB's paws crossed, in a kind of "meh" pose.
