Extra sad observation: This is the one thing he's tried really hard to get right as President and he's still incompetent at it (apologies to any moron doing worse).

Update from NEI on Japan talking about NRC and U.S.
The commission supported the establishment of an agency
task force that will conduct both short- and long-term analysis of the lessons
that can be learned from the situation in Japan. The results of their work will
be made public.
"The longer-term review will inform any permanent NRC regulation
changes" that are needed, the NRC said. The commission said it expects
that the task force can begin the long-term evaluation in no later than 90 days
and added that the task force should provide a report with recommended actions
within six months of the beginning of that effort.
Standby people, when the Dems are in office the commissioners are all rabid anti-nukes. Look for a shit-pot of new regulations to add expense. Older plants already operating on the edge of economic viability like the recent one in NJ will be shutdown.

These are people who think the world owes them a living and not surpassingly, that extends to Arianna as well.

Hey, did you know that the reason libs fail so epically in televised debates even when they totally “win” on the merits is because of their lack of command of such “Non-verbals” as the “furrowed brow “and “raised brow”.
Oh yes.
Thank God Media Matters is offering a boot camp to teach progressives how to master these important skills:
...
From Powerline:
Media Matters, too, is embracing the notion of television debate as performance art. The PTI program is in part conceived by Joel Silberman, a Democratic media trainer and former cabaret singer, who says things like “actors speak louder than words,” “heart, persona, presence” and “feeling wins.” The instructors at the carriage house spend an entire day emphasizing “nonverbals.”
The participants studied “strength and warmth inventory” handouts (“furrowed brow” for strength, “brow up” for warmth). They learned to avoid licking lips, tilting heads and rubbing one hand against the other.

At JWF, Ralph Nader is worrying about the important topic of the day:
"As we near the exciting conclusion of 'March Madness' — which would more accurately be described as the 2011 NCAA Professional Basketball Championships — it's time we step back and finally address the myth of amateurism surrounding big-time college football and basketball in this country," said Nader

She's just the tits! You know, with her in charge of our nation's security, I drive home from work every day looking skyward for the inevitable mushroom cloud. I just bought a new pair of Oakley's to help deal with the flash. Good times!

Today, let's splurge and use a new tarp.

Never mind that on the fed side they divert the first 20% of the tax to urban mass transit and then spend a large portion of the remainder on non-roadway stuff. I am sure that the States do the same thing.
But here is the real kicker. If they were serious about the rational that better gas mileage had reduced the dollars collected per miles driven they would "replace" the tax on gasoline with the tax on mileage.
Instead, in every instance I have seen where they push for this tax it is a new tax added on while keeping the old tax. It is the same old story from the Dems every time.
Tax tax tax, they never met a tax they didn't like and they never met a socialism program that spends money that they didn't like.

Plus, checking a parent's bc is so much more expensive then paying for anchor baby their entire lives . . .
Experts cite costs, red tape of birthright citizenship plan
For the first time ever, all parents applying for birth certificates for their newborns would be asked about their citizenship or immigration status. And states, many of which are grappling with budget deficits and calls for less government spending, would need to create a process to verify the status of parents in order to determine which kind of birth certificate to issue: one for children of U.S. citizens and legal residents and one for children of illegal immigrants.
Backers of the legislation, which is pending in several states and Congress, say the change would be unobtrusive for parents and simple and inexpensive for states to implement.
Experts, however, say restricting birthright citizenship would be a major shift from the current system, where nearly all babies are automatically granted citizenship, even if their parents are illegal immigrants. The change, at the least, would subject millions of parents, the majority of them U.S. citizens, to more red tape and, in the worst cases, could result in some children being wrongly denied citizenship because of bureaucratic mistakes, they say.

The Ivory Coast is pretty much a French problem. A few years ago they completely destroyed the IC's airforce as retribution for someone dropping a few bombs on one of their bases there.
The French aren't particularly gracious post-colonial guests in their former African colonies. They get pretty feisty about that shit when even mildly provoked.

So we should have fewer laws to avoid bureaucratic mistakes, then?

We shouldn't grant automatic citizenship to any kid that pops out on a tourist visa within say 3 months of entry. This anchor baby shit has to stop.

Yes they do. AAA ran the numbers back in the mid 00's, and the collected motor vehicle taxes (State + Fed) came to just over $100,000 per mile of every type of road in the US/year - with approx 35% of the total road surfaces being paved...

Come to Maryland Vic. Every story I hear on the radio this week is the same.
"Delegate Clueless McFuckstick has proposed a grocery bag, increased alcohol, gasoline, car title, increased cigarette, etc, etc...tax."
Just as Iowahawk is considering moving to Texas, I may as well.

We do need a case to go before the Supremes that is a direct reference. Common sense would dictate that the children of illegals who come here for the sole purpose of dumping out babies would not be citizens.
