To be perfectly clear (and fair) I would even give one to the millionaires and billionaires, because after I finish taxing them, on their obscene profits made on the backs of the poor, women, minorities, and starving seniors, they will need those checks too.
Of course, under my plan, cat food prices would necessarily sky-rocket!

If he admits that inflationary forces are on the rise, he's then effectively put Obama's head on a platter. Inflation is the mother of economic factors that work against an incumbent. If he lies about it and the debt, the bond markets and the commodity traders will react, and prices will accelerate.

Not I. The Fed has signaled that it will end QE2 and the markets have called bullshit. So the Fed will either continue to signal that it will end it will QE2, and the markets will continue to call bullshit, or the Fed will reverse course and announce QE3 and the markets will explode to the upside. I don't see a bearish scenario.

Also, we lost 6 soldiers in a firefight at the Kabul airport. Pray for their families.....
At least six American service members died in a "gunfight" Wednesday at an airport in the Afghan capital, an Afghan military official told CNN.
"A 50-year-old man opened fire at armed U.S. military soldiers inside the airport after an argument between them turned serious," said Col. Baha Dur, chief of the public relations for the Afghan National Army at Kabul military airport.

Republicans Seeking Improved Message
The first problem with the Republican plan is itÂ’s too complicated and therefore it is too easy to mischaracterize. But, rather than start over or ditch the plan, letÂ’s make some substitutions and add a couple of improvements.
Create a new subchapter for small businesses. Small business owners are being screwed by having to file as individuals. Let them file a new 1040-SB for their business earnings that has very few deductions but low brackets.Add tax brackets for individual tax filers making over $250,000 (39%), $1 million (43%), $2.5 million (46%) and $10 million (50%). Take away the “tax the rich” argument.Don’t change the structure of Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. Instead, tighten requirements for qualifying. There are way too many people qualifying as “disabled.”Push means testing for SS. Anyone with pensions and other annuities totaling over $250,000 per year gets SS benefits cut by 50%.
These are minor improvements that undercut the Dems demagoguery. But what will win the election is:
BHO promised to bring jobs back to the US, but failed miserably. Trump is making progress by demanding tariffs on Chinese products. This is the winning issue. It helps employment and adds money to the tax coffers. I know this goes against everything the neo-Republican checked pants crowd considers sacred, but it is in line with traditional Republicanism.
Roll back free trade agreements and dump the WTO.
Now this is radical, but it is a winning issue. America will not get back on its feet until we manufacture goods for our own markets. Just like the auto industry, if foreign companies want to sell in our market without tariffs they need to manufacture a certain percentage of the goods HERE. Refrigerators, microwaves, televisionsÂ…
We need to stop giving a damn about the employment and economy of other countries. It hasnÂ’t worked. The only counties that we should have free trade agreements with are those that have similar wages and regulations.
Speaking of regulations, start rolling them back. BHO promised to go through them and eliminate the burdensome regs. He failed miserably, while actually increasing them significantly.
We have some great examples; the Delta Smelt, Shell Oil and the ice breaker ship, etc.

If we opened up drilling in the Gulf and Alaska and other places, started working on using oil shale and exploiting coal, etc. quite a few jobs would be created without one dime of federal expenditure.
As energy prices came down, we would have a population with more money to spend on other things, so that would, of course, create more jobs.
And that isn't counting nuclear power plant and refinery construction, both of which are sorely needed.

Such changes do not help with the optics, which is what you were proposing. While means testing may not play badly, disenrolling the disabled ( and I agree that SSI is badly overused) will play badly. Count on Dems rolling out sob stories, much like was done whenever tort reform was proposed.
Remember that what you propose is not merely sound policy, it strikes at one of the Dem base constituancies.

unless you have about three trillion dollars venture capital lying around unused to refire US electronics manufacture, semi-conductors, high end smelting and micro-casting, textiles, automotive parts, etc etc etc you may want to ease up to that cliff rather than pole-vault it.

The free speech knock on Petraeus is the wrong tack; the real issue is "target lock". He was too focused on his job and failed to respect the broader issues.
Target lock in a General isn't good, but I can live with it. Target lock as a Cabinet level official cannot be accepted. Hopefully, the officer in him can do a little introspection and self-check that behavior going forward.
Down the road a little, the service chiefs are going to own Penetta. But, he may be the only option Obama has - he would have an outright mutiny on his hands if he tried to put any of his think tank clowns in there. And, appearently, even Obama didn't trust Webb or Kerry.

agree we need to get back into the resource exploitation biz.
But re-booting our manufacturing industry could be done with carrots instead of sticks. Target industries with special tax breaks. Entice foreign manufacturers to open here. Make sure it is more attractive for Ford to open a new plant in Kentucky, for instance, than to open a new one in Mexico.

House Votes to Strip Public Employee Unions of Collective Bargaining Rights in Â… MassachusettsÂ…
House lawmakers voted overwhelmingly last night to strip police officers, teachers, and other municipal employees of most of their rights to bargain over health care, saying the change would save millions of dollars for financially strapped cities and towns.
The 111-to-42 vote followed tougher measures to broadly eliminate collective bargaining rights for public employees in Ohio, Wisconsin, and other states. But unlike those efforts, the push in Massachusetts was led by Democrats who have traditionally stood with labor to oppose any reduction in workersÂ’ rights.

That’s right: Armageddon didn’t happen. Instead of terrible harm to the biosphere, the Deepwater Horizon spill has caused only mild problems. In fact, because of the fishing bans imposed after the spill, there are more fish than ever. Shark and mackerel populations have exploded. “Red snapper are unbelievable right now,” one fisherman said. “You could put a rock on the end a string and they’d bite it.”

@56
Also in on today's wuppin' of John Boehner (R Clueless):
Reacting to Boehner’s comments in an exclusive interview with ABC News Monday that big oil companies “ought to be paying their fair share" and that “they've got some part of this to blame,” Pelosi wrote in a letter obtained by ABC News to House Speaker John Boehner, that “House Democrats have long advocated eliminating outdated and costly taxpayer subsidies that provide billions of dollars to highly profitable oil companies.”
“Your comments yesterday acknowledged that oil companies ought to be paying their fair share,” Pelosi, D-Calif., wrote. “It makes little sense for American consumers -- who are now paying over $4 a gallon for gasoline in most parts of the United States -- to have billions of their taxpayer dollars subsidizing oil companies that are making record profits.”
Pelosi called on Boehner to “schedule a vote on ending these tax breaks on the House floor” upon Congress’s return from recess next week and noted that she was looking "forward to our working together to achieve this necessary change.”

Give me a hundred nimble smaller enterprises with innovative management, and a value based on IP and business volume versus "economies of scale" and a distributor chain. Small enough to fail is GOOD.
Now get some sanity back into tort reform, be reasonable in environmental restrictions, and make health benefits a personal tax deduction -- and let the small guys grow this economy. Tariffs, government carrots, etc. all distort the economy - they have the same inherent Marxist failure - some "expert" or politician is deciding what the economy needs, and they don't know.
The workers need portable retirement plans that they own, not company pensions; they need to own their own health insurance; and they need to generally be responsible for themselves.

Boehner epitomizes the GOP establishment. America is strangling under the Federal Reserve's authoritarian abuse of powers, and the GOP won't fight it.
Mark Steyn pointed out Nancy Pelosi's "Common Values" speech to Republicans amounting to the biggest ever authoritarian enforcement of mass poverty via no-value Dollar, federal taxation on the middle class and federal implementation of inflation while wages fall, breaking the middle class into submission.
Steyn also pointed out that despite personal respect for Paul Ryan, that's far too little far too late a "plan" since in 10 years America already is a broken nation by stubbornly stupid suicidal spending (S4).
Finally, Steyn pointed out markedly how the entire Republican Leadership eschews the Tea Party movement to the chagrin of voters.
The GOP plays Lucy to the Tea Party Charlie Brown each election, pulling out the fabricated Cloak and Dagger aka "Truther" and "Birther" meanings poisoned by false attributions.
The 9/11 Commission Chairman and Members denounced their own Report after the fact when they realized that the Federal Authoritarians had coerced false testimony from all government witnesses who confessed themselves after the fact. It takes neoconservatism, those in power, to attack the 9/11 Commission as "Truthers".
Obama is the embodiment of Deceit. There is a specific constitutional requirement that every POTUS be a natural born US citizen, the Founders' encyclopedia defining that both parents be US citizens and the birth be within the USA. Demanding verification, let alone upholding the constitutional standard, is the responsible procedure in upholding and defending the US Constitution. So what happened? Immediately, neoconservatives were first to accredit no record as fully sufficient while simultaneously attacking any demand for documented substantiation as "Birtherism".
Were Steyn a natural born US citizen, I'd be campaigning for him as POTUS. As it is, I'll maintain constitutional conservative governance with the candidate firmly on that platform.

Instead of any constitutional separation and limit of powers, we witness the amalgamation of authoritarianism requiring the subjugation of America to elitist globalism. Of course it's accomplished carrying the banners of patriotism. As if the UN recognizes any sovereign nation.

They're really forcing the performances this time. The places where they're having the most impact are the divided or D-leaning parts of these swing districts, since they can get the more emotional reactions there. Some of the shouting matches and other reactions have been intense at times, though I don't think the libs are capturing as many violent reactions as they want. Regardless, I know it's an old tactic of theirs but it still disgusts me because they're attempting to disrupt actual debate over sensitive issues.

I don't see how this changes anything with regards to the academic records.
(Although I am in the minority in that I don't think it's worth pushing.)

1961 Race Vital Stats does not list "African" as race category, yet the released BC does.

If you google the Nordyke twins (who were born a day after Obama at the same hospital) you can see that the parent's race is listed as 'Caucasian', which, according to your link should have said 'white'. I think they took the self-identifying description and used that.

Easier than what? He never intended to release them, so I don't think that ball can be moved back any further. I think it goes the other way; once releases start, it's hard to argue against further ones that are germane to the discussion - as his transcripts (and passport/visa documentation) is.
Shit,
Presidential biographers usually demand all of this stuff, and everyone
knows it. One would think, especially for the only guy who was
actually raised in a foreign nation, as a foreigner and a muslim, that
this information would be among the most important for anyone trying to
write the biography of this retard.

Plus pissing on his MFM toadies doesn't do much to encourage them to carry Hussein's water for him going forward, since they were complicit in this obfuscation being allowed to exist unchallenged as long as it had.

I think they will always cover for him no matter what, because that's what true believers do for their god.

Iin June 6, 2009 Ms. Okubo the Secretary of Health for the State of Hawaii,, officially acknowledged that it no longer maintains hard copy records of original "Certificates of Live Birth" as part of its officially authorized records documentation, verification, and creation process.
So how does a form located only on a computer, get photocopied out of a book?

Agreed. Unless a Dem challenger emerges, and shows signs of success, they will remain servile. If one does emerge, then we might be in for a popcorn worthy event.

I can't argue with that but they won't do it with as much enthusiasm. Plus sooner or later they have to wake up to the fact that people are increasingly tuning them out; the size of my local fishwrap has shrunk to the size that parakeet owners have to make sure their birds don't have diarrhea. I think some individuals, who haven't had all personal initiative leached out of them, will start figuring out that there's fertile territory in taking on this glass-jawed, thin-skinned imbecile.

Could be worse. Fox News could be upending their entire nighttime schedule to bring us news from Britain in an attempt to whip us up in a frenzy for the wedding.
Oh, wait. Yeah, that's happening. Tried to watch Red Eye last night and got an eyeful of Sky News instead.

It was Ace, not The Donald who forced the issue of The Flapping Wrist's BC. It still lacks some information as mine, such as "married" and vital stats like birthweight. I am sure experts are looking at this right now (see: Rathergate). Note, too, it was only certified two days ago. Whatever.
He still needs to release transcripts, grades and classes he took, employment record and what he did as an attorney and why he gave up his license (maybe that was discussed in past), health records as president, etc.
Plus, the LA Times needs to release the videotape of a 2003 banquet honoring Rashid Khalidi, a leading Palestinian activist and scholar and professor of Arab Studies at Columbia, and former spokesman for the PLO. At the dinner, Obama spoke of their friendship and how much he had learned from him. [Bring it on]

Isn't this the same gink that bows to kings and emperors?
All that this proves is that one of his goals is to undermine anything traditionally American for some perverted sense of justice or his own ego, or both. And that would only prove him supremely un-American.
