Moron Cuffy lives in Alabama and shot this photo of what used to be the gas station he stopped at on his morning commute.

As he said - leveled. Continued thoughts and prayers for all those affected.

We discussed this last week from personal experience. It looks like the flood gates are about to be opened. The Wiemar republic is about to get a companion in history besides Zimbabwe.

7 If you think that everything is going to turn out roses, butterflies, and lollipops in Egypt then you might want to avoid this TH opinion piece. I bolded some of it below as I did not know the Muslim Brotherhood motto:

And in February, President Obama's director of national intelligence, James Clapper, testified before a congressional committee that the Muslim Brotherhood is "a very heterogeneous group, largely secular, which has eschewed violence. . . . They have pursued social ends, a betterment of the political order in Egypt, et cetera. . . . There is no overarching agenda, particularly in pursuit of violence, at least internationally."

"Largely secular"? "No overarching agenda"? It boggles my mind to think that our nation's intelligence director could be so far out of touch with reality! After all, the organization is called the Muslim Brotherhood—not the Secular Brotherhood. The "overarching agenda" is right there in the name!

The Muslim Brotherhood is the largest, oldest, and most influential Islamic political group in the world. Its motto: "Allah is our objective, the Prophet is our leader, the Quran is our law, Jihad is our way, and dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope." The terror organization Hamas is an offshoot of the Brotherhood, created specifically with the goal of destroying Israel. The Brotherhood is dedicated to the establishment of a global caliphate, the imposition of Islamic law worldwide. The Brotherhood's supreme guide, Mohammed Badie, has openly stated his goal of raising up "a jihadi generation that pursues death, just as the enemies pursue life."

My Patriots drafted a Big 12 finesse OT who started his career as a TE.  They need a tackle, but it seems like a pretty crappy 1st round pick.

I would have liked to see another defensive lineman, or a corner.  Barring that, a versatile skill guy.  A WR or WR/TE, or a third down back type.

I believe that the real intent behind the enviro movement is BANANA (Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anyone) where anyone includes any sort of living creature and can be extended to refer to Gaia.

The quicker the proles die off due to lack of energy, starvation, shortage of water, and a return to 1600's technology, the quicker the elites can claim their rightful legacy.  I don't think they've really thought this through, but that would require that they are intelligent to begin with.

DON'T WATCH THE BRITISH ROYAL WEDDING: It will be a HUGE satanic ritual.

It's so blatant that hurts. Middleton and Willy will marry in the SAME day that Hitler married Eva Braun. The "accident" with the 33 Chilean miners and that stunt of Chilean president taking a stone from the mines to the queen E-lizard-beth, was a gigantic occultist ritual, in the same month when prince Willy announced the engagement. And so it goes. Check the website of Goro Adachi, ETEMENANKI, to see the whole symbology, synchronicity and occult meaning of this satanic wedding:

LINK

The Brit Illuminati are fabricating tons of satanic totems, dolls and miniatures of Kate Middleton and Willy, in their wedding suits and bachelor occultist ceremonies. Take a look at this innocent little girl holding a Kate Middleton's doll dressed with colors of black magic priestesses (usually black/red, purple or dark blue).

IMAGE

They are selling candles with the same scent that will be used during the marriage ceremony and lots of other items. The sheeple will feed this demonic couple with their energy, while watching it on TV. Don't feed them. Turn off the fuck TV and ignore this event. Don't even watch it through web.

He says that actions of 57-year-old Chester Jackson III and Jacqueline Jackson (believed to be the father and sister of the murder victim) may actually be considered “measured and restrained.”

I am astounded every day by this kind of shit. Guess what happens when justice no longer delivers justice? Sacramento would remember this if they still taught history in CA instead of BS. There is a little (for CA) town down the road from them called "Hangtown". Thy used to have a "dummy" hanging from a noose on a building when I lived out there to celebrate their frontier justice.

Those days will be coming back. This could also be tied into Ace's racism thread from last night.

These actions constituted aggravated assault. In SC they would also have been classified as "lynching" since more than one assailant was involved.

Perhaps the reporters should now sue for having their "civil rights" violated with no justice from the local DA. This falls squarely under the new federal hate crimes law.

I'll hold my breath waiting.

Interesting news re inflation in China.

http://tinyurl.com/625o2nc

I find this encouraging.  It's what should have been happening all along - steady devluation of the USD vs. the yuan as a natural result of long term trade deficits.  This should help drive up the cost of bringing in the Chinese exports.  If the info in the latter half of the article is true, this may also herald greater unrest and resistance within China - all of which is good.

If the US could just get somebody into power with half a brain, we'd get an energy policy that worked and we'd start seeing some progress.  But until that happens it's still a rocky road ahead.

Posted by: Reactionary at April 29, 2011 04:38 AM (xUM1Q)

81 MacCallum used the word loose in a sentence with Katie, and Shep jumped all over that.  "Awwww, you don't wanna say loose with regard to her [laughs at own joke]."  She was talking about Katie's veil or something.  MacCallum had to abandon the point--which was interesting.  (Everything she said was perfect.)

Later, MacCallum was describing the route Katie was taking from the hotel to the cathedral.  Shep jumped all over the word "hotel."  "[interrupting] Can you imagine?  Can you imagine how full that hotel is going to be from now on?  And how expensive it will be?  It will be, like, a thousand pounds a night."  At that point, time was up for the segment, and MacCallum's rather interesting point was lost.

Then she was talking about one of the guests, a cousin, I think, in a "dusky rose" dress.  Before she could finish talking about who the guest was, Shep was all over the words "dusky rose."  Something like, "Awwww, what's dusky about that rose?  Ha ha ha hah."  She was fucking talking about the reason the woman was there.  Another point lost.

Then this:  MacCallum was talking about who was in the really nice shuttle vans.  They were foreign dignitaries, heads of state.  She was talking about the number of states within the Commonwealth or something.  I think she was saying 1/3 of all countries.  But the point was lost because Shepherd Smith decided it was time to butt in and talk about those vans:  "Haaa, those vans!  Who wants to ride in a van!?  That's something college kids would ride in and have a kegger in back.  That's something we would have ridden in while having a big kegger.  Ha ha h ahha ha hahaha."  Again, he was completely fascinated by his own sense of humor.

It's a fucking royal wedding, and he's talking about keggers.

Then he was talking about how William was dressed and said, "Dyoude, you're gonna get married!!!! HA HA HA HAHAHAHA."

Then he interrupted MacCallum again to point out one of the women had a fish net on her face.  "Look, one of those women has a fish net on her face.  HA HA HAHAHAHA HAHAH HA."

Like I said, the mind of a twelve year old.  Inappropriate for the assignment.  Rude.  Dumb.  And likely drunk.

I should have changed the channel, and I will next time.  I will not watch that asshole ever again.  But I couldn't turn away this time because of the level of the inappropriateness.  It was like a slo-mo car wreck.

MacCallum is a play by play genius.  Really impressive.  And isn't being helpful and not an asshole pretty much the entire role an anchor is supposed to play in that situation?

Oh, yeah.  A couple of times, MacCallum said, lets just watch and listen for a while.  I wondered whether that was a veiled "shut-up."  Didn't work, though.  Shep just couldn't help himself.  For Shep, "listen for a while" meant "time for me to talk."

Morning, all!

I got to watch a bit of the Royal Wedding this morning, and I have to admit I'm glad I did.  I certainly hope William and Kate will be happy together for a long time.

Now, on to other things.  Like wondering how the hell a sequel to Ghost Rider could possibly be in the cards.

95 movie sequels currently in the works (link to Den of Geek)

I'm actually very glad I checked out that link.  I'd completely forgotten there was a remake of Conan the Barbarian coming out this year, starring Jason Momoa (of Stargate: Atlantis fame).  It won't be near as good as the epic Schwarzenegger originals, but I don't care.  I have been yearning for a sword and sorcery flick for a LONG time.  In fact, am I completely wrong, or did I hear tell a year or so ago that Hollywood was considering remaking Red Sonja?

Oh gosh, maybe someday they'll do a re-make of The Beastmaster, and they won't paint the tiger black to make it look like a panther.  I don't know if that would be a good thing or a bad thing...

April 29 (Bloomberg) -- Consumer spending in the U.S. climbed in March as Americans spent more on food and fuel, indicating further income gains are needed to boost the biggest part of the economy.

“The higher food and energy prices function like a tax in the short term, and discretionary spending is going to bear the brunt of that,” said Guy LeBas, chief fixed-income strategist at Janney Montgomery Scott LLC in Philadelphia. “Anything that increases consumer income will increase consumer spending, be that more jobs or higher wages. We do expect the rebound in the labor market to continue.”

156 Re: The Royal wedding:

In terms of inbreeding, there has been a bunch of digging around in the press to find the closest common ancestor of William and Kate: Channel Four turned up fourteen and fifteenth cousinships, and the Daily Mail managed to find a eleventh cousinship. For comparison, WilliamÂ’s parents Diana and Charles were also 11th cousins, and the Queen and Prince Philip were a far more regal 2nd cousins once removed.

Eleventh cousins share on average 60-parts-per-billion of DNA, or about 180bp (although with wide variation due to the spotty nature of meiotic recombination: in fact, 99.5% of 11th cousins will share no DNA at all, while the remaining 0.5% will typically share tens of thousands of bases). Given that the average person harbours about 10 recessive diseases, this gives about a 1 in 1.6 million chance of Kate and WillÂ’s offspring developing a royal disease due to a piece of DNA shared between them. So, not very likely then.

The things I found interesting from your link are these: (They go with your rants (which I loved) yesterday morning:

TEN RULES FOR LIBERTY GUERILLAS

4. It is a principle of political science that it is easier to persuade people to vote against something or someone than to persuade them to vote in favor of something.

5. Liberty guerillas form centers of resistance EVERYWHERE and they are always in action. Thus, when the Regime attempts to confront/solve one "media" crisis of anti-Regime opinion, another flares up. This serves to also drain the Regime's manpower and resources.

10. Exploit the alternative media to communicate the ideas of the Liberty movement and resistance to the Regime. Be everywhere; be informed; make it known you are aware of the lies disseminated by the Regime and aren't falling for them.

As soon as I knew Shep was going to be doing the Fox coverage, I looked frantically for the BBC.   Two minutes of Shep was more than enough.   Now, hearing what a rude ass he was I hope someone at Fox reams his ass when he gets back to the states.   Just goes to show you can't buy class, and evidently you can't fake it for a couple hours, either.

I got suckered into that wedding that I 'didn't care a thing about'. How could you not? She looked absolutely flawless. And William, well he seems like a nice chap. Harry is a handsome little devil.

And Shep Smith was out of bounds and needed to be yanked off air.

The first time they kissed he asked about 'tongue'. It was gross and inappropriate. But what was worse? When they kissed the second time Martha M. made some comment about whether any Royal couple had kissed more than one time, she remembered Di and Charles only kissing once. And Shep made some snarky comment about how that was the  one and only kiss between the two.

That's just bad form - you're a guest over there. Be more polite.

It was great.   They knew every single dignitary, described all the cars and the significance of each, the significance of the different carriages, the reason for the trees on the aisle, and all those little details that only the British would know and understand that people would want to know.    All the details about what was going on behind closed doors, and what was probably being talked about.

197 Should've watched BBC too.  Fox had on Joan Lunden a couple times during the time I watched this morning.  She made a statement about Prince William becoming King if the Queen abdicates and then Prince Charles abdicates.  A later British guest came on and said she was wrong.  That the Queen would not abdicate as she has sworn her oath to remain Queen until her death.  Yadda, yadda.  But the point being, BBC would've known better than Lunden.

As much as people like to call the Royal Wedding a waste of time and money, I think you have to take into account how MUCH money it must pump into the British economy.  Airlines, hotels, food sellers, taxi companies, clothing stores, trinket shops, etc, etc.  They'll be selling memorabilia for months.  And it goes a long way to making the international community a little more confident in the Brits' ability to secure a high profile event in preparation for the 2012 Olympics, despite their equally high profile militant muslim problems.

Besides, a little pomp and circumstance can do a lot to buoy a country's sense of pride, particularly when it has such historic roots.  Heaven knows the Brits need a reminder of what it's like to be proud, not cowed.

Unpasteurized milk, to be precise. Asked for comment, the government released this statement: “It is the FDA’s position that raw milk should never be consumed.” Therefore, the Amish farmers at Rainbow Acres had to be brought down.
Asked for comment, one Washington resident stated, “I look at this as the FDA is in cahoots with the large milk producers. I don’t want the FDA and my tax dollars to go to shut down a farm that hasn’t had any complaints against it. They’re producing good food, and the consumers are extremely happy with it."

250 Back to 137, I don't mind getting a form letter, but a condescending form letter claiming that raising the debt ceiling is not an increase in debt but merely a transfer of funds to the social security trust fund is outrageous coming from, Thornberry, one of the most conservative reps.

252 OK, I have a question re The One's birth certificate.  I noticed that his father's race was specified as "African".  Now, this strikes me as rather strange.  I was around in 1961 -- the year I graduated high school -- and my recollection is that the term in common use at that time to describe the black race, especially on official documents, was "Negro".  Would "African" have been in common use in Hawaii at the time?

256 The other thing, "Dan Rather", is that the father's birthplace etc. is clearly shown to be in Kenya, Africa so it's not as if the bureaucrat filling out the document typed "African" as the race to indicate the father's national origin or the like instead of using the era- and race-appropriate "Negro". It says he's African in the other information boxes so why would "African" have been used instead of "Negro" which is race-specific and not geographic in nature? If she had been impregnated by a white South African, would the race have been listed as "African"? Not bloody likely.

Damn. I just stepped outside for a smoke and saw a helicoptor flying by at just a little above tree top level in front of me. Wasn't a news chopper, and as it went past seemed to be going for a landing. Odd, since there are no helipads anywhere near here that I'm aware of.

Loved the Royal Wedding today. Perfect. Kate Middleton will improve the gene pool. She was beautiful today with a gorgeous gown (that I do hope other brides will copy vs the strapless things most should not be wearing). Boys, the strapless, let it all hang out gowns, are called "crumb catchers."

I DVR'd three hours of FOX as there was no way I was getting up at 6am to see the gown (as that was what I wanted to see). Martha did a good job.

Shep Smith, as always, did a horrible job and he is either on drugs or drunk. Did y'all catch the part, on the carriage ride to Buckingham Palace, when Shep (paraphrased) said something to the effect that Jonathan Hunt always wanted to ride in that carriage. There was a long pause, then Jonathan Hunt said, "Are you saying I am the Queen of England?" I was blown away at that one, and wanted Jonathan Hunt to say, "Well, Shep, we all know who the real queen is on FOX." Years ago, and it is probably still on YouTube somewhere, my husband and I saw this live on the stupid Shep show, he went to Jonathan Hunt but called him "Jonathan *unt"). Unreal.

Anyway, loved the wedding. Perfect except for Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. What on earth was Beatrice wearing on her head? There is something wrong with those two (guess, for starters, their Mom). Beatrice has freaky looking eyes. The Queen needs to start pre-screening their outfits for royal events.

260 Interesting story on multipliers under 1.  I would repost a comment I made in one of geoff's excellent threads about unemployment claims:

I would take minor issue with your partitioning of the data, but that aside, it should be noted that claims leveled out (stopped reducing) basically at the time that the Porkulus money would have just gotten into the economy and been working around a bit.  I would say that we [see] the end of that partition marked the point at which the porkulus effect was wearing off. [and unemployment claims started lessening, again]

That might sound a bit counter-intuitive but that seems to be the major event that lines up fairly well with the graph. I'm going with this explanation.

If there had been no Porkulus, we probably would not have seen that plateau.  If there had been no TARP we would have been back to vibrant growth already.  Really vibrant growth, like 7%, on the bounceback from such a deep recession.
